Thank u all for ur amazing support!

U have no idea how much it means to me, u guys really r helping me thru one the darkest times of my life!

And its not just the acne, but that's where my focus goes. One day ill be clear, and I hope that day comes soon, lol.

I'm over all of this craziness....

So, dr appt went well, my dose was bumped to 40mg. I haven't noticed any difference yet, just same old dry lips. I'm assuming my body has adjusted to the med bc it seems my other side effects have subsided.

I noticed my nose and area above my chin areas, where there is usually gunk in the pores, r clear.

Still have sketchy clogged pores on my cheeks and jawline, I just pray those don't become lrg zits. Pih is still very much a pain in my ass. I wish I could do something to help the healing process, but I just don't know what to do.

Did you try the Bio Oil? I got mine and so far I'm liking it - even just to apply on very dry skin. So far so good! Hope you are doing well and keep us updated on the 40 mg bump!

I'm sorry about that... I have slowly been clearing, and to be honest I'm genuinely afraid of jinxing myself, lol

Silly, I know, but quite true.

Right now I still have a few clogged pores around my cheeks, jawline, and chin, but honestly those would have never bothered me before.

My marks are more numerous atm from breaking out on tane, but my skin is so smooth.

I went to the healthfood store and inquired about what can help expedite healing and colostrum was rec'd to me. So I started taking that a couple days ago, well see if it helps me heal more quickly... I'm so impatient, lol

Side effects - dry lips, some joint pain and sore muscles in the morning after hiking and working out the evening prior, but it usually gets better thru the day. That's it.

DAY 51

Still clear, besides some clogged pores. Those, btw, seem to either dry up or essentially pop out.

I was quite curious as to what would happen to my clogs, and I know I've seen others ask the same question. For the most part they just go away. Sometimes they inflame, but that hasn't happened to me for close to two weeks

I know I shouldn't get too far ahead of myself, tho...

Just feeling pretty good about it all atm.

I still have A LOT of red marks, but my skin is soooo smooth.

I've been taking colostrum w/ my other vitamins. I'm improving, but who's to say the exact reason, u know?

I've been very active, and my soreness has subsided, however, I am soooo tired in the mornings. I really have trouble dragging my butt out of bed

I had a nosebleed the other day, but it wasn't anything bad, at all. Also, I noticed a red patch on my left shoulder last night. Dry skin. It's about the size of a dime, kinda looks like a rash. I've just been applying moisturizer and it seems to be better this morning.

Otherwise things are going fairly well.

I have a grand total of 1 zit... and it's just a little one - no worries at all.

I still have some clogs, but they r diminishing everyday

Also, my derm's nurse told me to apply 1% hydrocortisone cream to my little dry spot, and it almost completely healed overnight.

DAY 60

Starting 60mg today!

I had my blood work and derm visit yesterday. I was bumped to 30mg 2 x daily. I just took my first half at lunch (I don't really eat breakfast :/)

I still have approximately a dozen clogged pores around my cheeks, one small active, and a scab about the size of dime on my cheek I'm not very bright... I had this baby zit over the weekend that I picked. I know I didn't pick hard, or very much at all.... It did not matter. I've apparently reached the "keep your f***ing hands off" point of accutane. My skin in just the last week or two has become sooooo incredibly delicate! All of the skin around the spot is like peeling??

Yeah...

I won't be doing that anymore...

Lesson to me.

Oh, and my derm scolded me for picking too, lol

My appt lasted about 5 minutes... in and out

I've had a couple nose bleeds, nothing too bad, but the inside of my nostrils are crazy dry, like if I flare my nostrils it sorta hurts... Any rec's for that? I feel like I should be putting something up there, but nasal spray does not help and aquaphor/vaseline up my nose is quite odd... I just want to prevent any major nose bleeds.

Red marks are lessening, slloowwwwllllyyyyy, but surely, which is good.

I'm sure the sun helps, plus I've tried a manuka honey mask a few times rec'd by Mini Me, and that seems to help the overall quality of my skin. I've only used it twice, but no adverse reactions thus far

So, most people seem to see dramatic changes in the "magic" month 3... I hope that goes for me too!!

hey!! I was bumped up to 60mg today too! lol I think it's so cool having someone on here to is going through the same thing! I'm kinda nervous about the 60mg. I still have a 40mg pill to take tonight with dinner and the pharmacy doesn't have my perscription in stock.. =( so I won't be starting "60mg" until tomorrow night. My appt today was all of 5 min also! I didn't have to give blood work though. I too am having clogged pores on my cheeks. They're kinda in the hollows of my cheeks. Like if I made the fishy face.. lol I hope everything is going super well for you!

This is a little early to start, but I just can't hold back!

I get to start accutane 5/9! I am sooooo excited to actually be doing something that will attack the root of problem!

After trying a ton of stuff, and I think just exaserbating the problem, I will get my hands on my cure (fingers crossed). BTW, I'm 28 swf... lol, I always wanted to write "swf".

 

My acne actually just came like a tidal wave about 6 months ago... it was really strange the way it came on, and it's almost like it was a bad dream. It still sorta feels that way, but I feel like I am doing everything I can to control the craziness, and I think my initial shock has worn off. I kinda feel like I'm trying to wake up. Last summer I started getting a cyst around that TOTM, but not too worried about it. Then my period started every 3 weeks, then every 2... my face kept getting worse. I tried various otc products, and ended up going with Murad for about 6 weeks. My face literally exploded w/ clogged pores, very deep and thick. Any time I touched one... no check that, LOOKED at one it would become infected. Well u can imagine what the last 2-3 months of differin have done to my face! Lots of marks, bc these things just keep erupting. Prior to differin I have tried antibiotics, bcp, spiro, peels, facials, bp, sa, zeno, supplements, changing my diet, etc. I got set up w/ ipledge a few weeks ago, and am just counting down the days.

 

I went thru a divorce this winter too, and I have to say that I expected more support from my family. I guess I shouldn't be surprised they're not more supportive, they never really were. My husbands family took me in about 10yrs ago, pretty much straight out of highschool. And they r still there for me, but its still sorta awkward now. I have a daughter named Audrey who is precious, but we split custody 50/50, and this shit really gets to me when I'm alone. Its not too bad when I get around other people, but I'm always feeling ashamed of what's happened to me. My ex actually told me I'm getting what I deserve bc I asked for the divorce. I judge myself too harshly, bc I know I've done everything I can, but its just gotten worse. I feel all alone.

 

BUT!

 

I GET TO START ACCUTANE IN A WEEK! YAY!

 

I know I will be back to my old, or should I say NEW, self in a matter of months!

 

Sorry this kinda rambled on, but I find it theraputic to vent here. I would ask for any and all feedback/support/advice possible. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this stuff, and I'm trying to cope alone here, which I'm sure isn't healthy.

Wow Crystal! I haven't read your whole log yet, but I am so sorry about everything that you have been through this past year. And about that comment your ex said, so uncalled for. Let's see how he feels if he ever deals with acne.

We are the same age and it looks like we both got married pretty young. I myself do not have any children. I couldn't imagine going through a divorce let alone having to deal with acne all alone. I truly do feel for you and wish you the best now and in the future to come!

Congrats! Your skin sounds like it's doing great! I have the same probably dragging myself out of bed in the morning, although i'm having the hardest time falling alseep at night. I never had this issue before accutane.

I haven't a clue to what day it is atm...

Currently I have two sizeable zits, one on each cheek. Both swollen w/o heads... so, I'm just leaving them. Not sure what else I can do? If I pop I tear the surrounding skin and have a scab for a damn week, lol. In fact I've got two right now. So... IF I didn't have a scab and zit on each cheek, I'd be one happy girl. Sigh, couldn't be easy, could it?

Idk what to do about the zits tho? I really hate leaving them. Everytime I've left a zit alone, it has scarred

I think this is the end of my breakout from bumping up... (knock on wood) Just gotta get these two to healing.

I've been tired this last week, but this has happened every time after starting/bumping, so I'm assuming it will subside.

VERY dry today. This is the first day where I've noticed actual flaking since after my first week of starting. Going to have to step up the moisturizing. Any good recs for exfoliating???

Also, lips are ridiculous. I just overnighted some cortibalm bc aquaphor is not cutting it.

Does anyone know how to treat zits once ur skin is too fragile to pop?

I thought things were looking up, but everyday since I bumped it is just getting worse.

I can't go back to where I was, I cannot live like this anymore.

Any encouragement would be much appreciated, I don't know if accutane will work for me or not at this point, and I'm really scared that it won't be my answer...

I ask because if there not bad, I feel like it might be beneficial for you to be bumped up to at least 80mg. I just say my derm this morning and she said that studies have shown that the higher the dosage the better the chance for permenent recovery. But, obviously that depends on what your body can take.

And if it makes you feel better your last pictures showed how awesome accutane is kicking your zits butts!

My side effects r dry skin/lips, and pretty tired lately. I am supposed to go to 80mg next month, but I really don't want to if I'm going to have another massive breakout

Yeah, I can understand that. I am actually pretty scared what my IB is going to be on 80mg a day! I don't really remember having one the last time I went on accutane, but that was over 4 years ago and my acne is the worst it's ever been.

Even if it does break you out more, my thinking is this: long term baby-think long term!

I'm trying babe, I really am.

But u know the psychological effects of this shit, and honestly, to think it's getting better for two weeks, and then oh no!

What else can I do?

Nothing.

So I will just try to stop getting so excited over clearing bc the let down is huge.

Hopefully it was the dose increase, and hopefully it will be over soon. I don't think I'm going to 80mg. I'll just ride out 60mg til I reach my cul dose.

She is so rude...

She goes "What happened to ur face? It was clearing up so nice"............................
