Just out of curiosity why did you decide to decrease the dosage of your bp so quickly. It seems like you have been clear for too short amount of time to decrease bp so drastically.

Great question. (1) Because I did not have a lot of acne left. (2) Many people who use The Regimen can decrease the dosage and still have results so I thought I would try it and it still works as if I was still using two full pumps. In reality I really think after you barely have much acne left all you really need is a thin film of BP all over your face. I think the reason you have to use two pumps for a while is because the BP real job is to bring oxygen to the face so that it prevents pimples, and when you have a lot of pimples like I did ( I had over 50 before starting the regimen), you need a lot of BP so that it can bring tons of oxygen to kill the pimples on your face and prevent other form forming. As long as you have a thin film I think it works just as using two pumps. I understand that this may not work for everyone, but if it works for me when why not ya know?

Anyway thank you for asking 🙂

Are you on the regimen or using BP? Is that why you asked?

Day 90 Update:

No pimples today. Yesterday I did my 40% Glycolic chemical peel. I have to admit thought, I wasn't scared of ordering it to use it, but once the time came for me to actually put that stuff on my face I am not going to lie I was a little intimidated my skin would just burn off haha. Since this was the first time ever using it, I left it on for four minutes. Next time I will leave it on for 5-6. I can say I do notice a great deal of improvement already in the texture, and the best results come after about 9 treatments. :)

Before The Regimen: 50+ actives.

Week 1: Mild, noticeably improvement, but still breaking out. Dry, flaky, tight, red. (Half a finger of BP) (Scale of 1-10: 9!)(10 being the worst)

Week 2: No improvement, BIG BREAKOUT! My face became worse than week 1. All pimples were huge and raised high above the skin. BIG breakouts that brought deep and big pimples and numerous cysts. Dry, flaky, RED. (Full amount of BP) (Scale: 10!)

Week 3: Slight, slight improvement. Skin is flatter. Still breaking out a lot maybe 5-6 every morning. This week the pimples are smaller but I was still getting some cysts. No longer dry, flaky, or red. (Full amount form now on) (Scale 7.5-8!)

Week 4: BIG, BIG, BREAKOUT! Probably around 10-15 bloody actives came overnight. This breakout affected my whole face. Cysts, and all. Face began to swell and became painful to sleep. Breaking out continually every day with 1-5. Not a pretty week. (Scale 9-9.5) (35 actives)

Week 5: AWESOME AWESOME improvement!!!!!!! Recovered from last weeks breakouts. This was the first week where I could see WAY more good than bad. This shows you just have to stick it out because till now there has been very minimal results. Got a few pimples this whole week! I broke out anywhere from 0-2 actives everyday this week. (Scale 4)

Week 6: Another week of great improvement! All week I probably got about 3 pimples! Spots are fading, skin is super super duper smooth. Introduced AHA and my face could not be any better at this point. (6 actives)

Week 7: This was a stressful week on my part so I blame my progress completely on this. Spots are still fading. I have about 8-9 actives right now. I am going to try and stay a little more positive so my results stay good. (8-9 actives)

Week 8: Not too much progress form last week. Slight progress. Spots are still fading though! (8 actives)

Week 9: Slight progress, broke out twice this week. Spots gradually fading. (6-7) actives

Week 10: Great improvement! I think I got only two new pimples this week. Spots are still slowly fading. (1-2) actives

Week 11: No more acne as of today!!!!! I new active in the beginning of the week. Spots are still red and slowlyyyy fading. (0) actives! teehee.gif

Week 12: 2 pimples! Ah darn haha. I still need to get passed another month or so to stay consistently clear, so I am pushing through it still.

Week 13: About one pimple all week, but by the end of the week I went back to zero. I also did my 40% Glycolic acid peel yesterday.

Nice! About the glycolic acid peels, do you think doing it can replace Dan's AHA? And since you only use a half pump of BP, do you really think its necessary to use moisturizer at night? I use probably the equivalent of half a pump of Epiduo on my face which is just Differ in and 2.5% BP and my skin doesn't turn red or get irritated at all because its in the dark.

Well not really because you are not supposed to use the peels often (about one a week or two depending on how your skin can handle the acidity). The AHA dan has is 10% and is best used everyday to see rests. Results are cumulative with low levels of AHA. And yes I will not stop moisturizing. Because it helps with staying young, and keeps irritation down, which helps decrease breakouts. And that is probably a good idea as well to mix them 🙂

How often are you going to treat with the acid peel?

I will be spacing my peels at about one week apart. It should not be done very at very close intervals because will not be giving your skin time to peel and then form the new skin. 🙂

Awesome. I used to used Beta hydroxy peels, but I may try Alpha and see if it will help my flaking and uneven complexion.

YAY! I notice I big difference with the indent scars that I have, they already are looking much better than before the glycolic peel!!!!

Day 93 Update:

Zero acne at the moment. My skin is doing some slight peeling from the 40% glycolic peel last thursday. I hope everything continues to get better!

Try not to manually peels back the flakes until they are bigger. I used to peel early and it made my face very red, raw, and sensitive.

I don't because I know it disrupts the skins ability to heal properly, so when it is ready to come off or looks ready I just lightly exfoliate and it feels

amazing!

So do you think that it is more effective to use glycolic peels once a week or so instead of just putting on AHA every night? And do you think someone who isn't on the regimen can still do this?

I do both! haha! The glycolic peel that you do once a week is just doing to much much more than the AHA every night, but using them together is only going to benefit you more. I have noticed that since doing the peel I have not had a pimple which is super awesome!

And of course! Anyone, with acne or not can do the peel and still benefit from it greatly. Because who do not have acne use it with the intention is smoothing and correcting the fine lines are wrinkles while others like me will use it to correct imperfections and prevent more acne.

Hope is your face doing by the way?

I had a mild breakout a few days ago, but overall its getting better and better. My forehead is so smooth I can wash it now without feeling pain! Last week a part of my nose started getting red and it was feeling like a big pimple was going to cone out, I was so scared because I haven't gotten a big nose pimple in years and whenever I got one they were big and red and would last for months. But it came to a small head after a day and it was completely gone in 3 days thankfully, I was so scared that day. The reason why I love my 2 topical is because I don't need moisturizer or sunscreen or anything, aczone is really gentle and doesn't cause drying or anything, but the downside is that my topical will stop working again after a year and a half. If I don't grow out of my acne by that time I might either start the regimen or see if I can do a 1 month off, 1.5 years on thing. Because the improvement I'm getting is the exact same improvement I got 2 years ago.

Day 95 Update:

No pimples! None since starting he 40% glycolic peels which is very interesting!

SOOOOOO¦..I did something sort of bad I think? I did another peel yesterday, which was five days after my first peel. I did it because my skin had peeled and felt soft, and so I thought my skin personally was ready for another. I also upped it from 4 minutes to 5 minutes and 30 seconds¦.

I have indented scaring. You cannot see it in my pictures because of the light fills in the holes. After the first peel I immediately noticed my indents were 15% evened out. Every day after skin skins texture looked so much better. After the second peel, I can definitely say that I have a 20% increase with my indents not being so deep. I am truly amazed because I thought I would have to get laser therapy to notice these results so quickly but that is not the case.

I was very intimidated at first, but now I peel like a professional at this chemical peel stuff lol :)

What was the thing you did that was bad? And a 20% reduction in the indentation is really good! I think I might want to try this out once I stop getting new pimples, which will be probably in another 2 months or so if this is just like last time. Can you buy it at a store or do you have to buy it online?

Well I didn't wait a full week between peel 1 and 2 haha. It is a good idea because you skin needs time to grow to skin, but I though my skin was ready enough to continue another peel short of one week :)

And yes! The indents seem to be going away very every peel that I do! I am glad I decided to do this because you could easily spend hundreds getting it done at an aestheticians office. Online is the best bet, and the only places were more small businesses dealign with skin care have this kind of peels. The brand I am using is called Skin Obession. You can do some research and their site. I bought their 40% glycolic peel for $10.00 from amazon, and it has been the next best investment for my skin beside the regimen.

Hey thereisalwayshope, I just wanted to say your regimen log has been so inspirational to me. I actually just started the regimen last night and I am hoping to end up with the results you have seen. I was just wondering if you wore makeup throughtout the regimen so far because I can't imagine going to school without any. Would it be bad if I wore makeup still?

Hello:)

I am glad that i have inspired you to start the regimenthat makes me happy because that was the goal for even starting the post in the first place 🙂 I started it so that people can read and see the progress with my acne and make the decision to whether they should also start.

And to answer your question..YES! I wore makeup and still am because of the spots. I hope to stop soon because I hate foundation lol. I wore it all the time and it does not hinder the progression of the regimen as long as the makeup that you are using is noncomodegenic and oil free and does not clog you pores. I use Physicians Formula and I have not broken out from any of there products and would recommend them.

Well I hope things go well, and make sure you understand that it is a journey and will not be the easiest task to complete, but with lots of positivity and friends on the site I am positive you can do it 🙂

Hey!! Wow I remember when we started I was one day ahead of you on the regimen!! :) I'm also clear now (except for some annoying blocked pores) and I'm using Dan's AHA at night which has helped with the flakes...not so much with the hyperpig. Your peel has gotten me quite excited to try it now, has it worked well on hyperpigmentation? Anyway congrats on the incredible improvement, I'm glad you've gotten the results you wanted :D
