I just washed my face and it feels so much smoother. It was so bumpy. It was worrying me, because that can point to a major flare coming up. I hope this was a purge and I'm out of the woods. It was bumpy just last night, so I don't know how they all mostly went away....my new FW has glycolic in it, so maybe I needed exfoliation.

Okay, so my FH bumps are pretty much gone. I don't know how....maybe it's the FW.

My skin feels better now that I'm back to moisturizing, so I may use bp all over tonight. I don't want to take 2 days off in a row. The more I do it, the sooner my skin will adapt, but sometimes I need a night off from it since I'm only at about 3 weeks and my skin gets really tight and dry. I hope that was a purge and I'm good from now on, but I don't know. I do have two, the one was pretty inflamed, but it got a lot better overnight, but then another one popped up next to it so....hmmm.

I couldn't use bp all over last night, because after I washed my face i was super dry and peeling. I think it's the new FW. Anyhow, I still have those two, but they're getting better, but now I have two on my temple. They were small before, so I guess they've come to the surface more. I also have one on my cheek. Normally, I would be in the clear right now, but I was right and it appears my cycle has changed. Now, I get breakouts at the end of my cycle, instead of in the middle. I don't understand this. Obv, my hormones have changed. I've had breakouts in the middle of my MC since my 30's. I used to get the last week breakouts my whole life until then, so my teens - twenties. Why have I reverted? That's a huge change. I haven't had this for like 12 years. I wonder if I'm ovulating again? I wouldn't know unless I got a kit, and I'm not going to do that, because I don't even care if I ovulate. But last week breakouts are so normal. I should be happy, I guess, but I'm breaking out, so I'm not. I have no idea what happens now, because this is when I normally went back to AA's. I never used the regimen after AA's, so we'll see, it worked for me very well in my 20's....my MC is like it was in my 20's now, so who knows. If I could just use it every night, I think I'd be okay.I don't want to go on AA's. I don't want to take anything, not even natural. SP messed up my stomach too. It's the hormone change that does it, not the drugs.

I have to bite the bullet and use bp all over tonight. I wish my skin would just adjust to it already and stop getting dry and peely. The good news is that all the tiny bumps that were under my skin and made my fw feel grainy are all gone but one or two. I wonder why I had them....that FW? The new makeup? A purge from the regimen?

I feel like I'm getting a cyst, because of this, I popped an aspirin and put tons of bp on there and basically that whole area. I'm going to have to use bp every night or this will never work. Really, I need to use it 2x a day, but I need to work up to that, I can't even use it daily yet. Dry skin is why I haven't been. I hope I don't have to go back on aa's, I really don't want to.

I used moisturizer over my BP last night. I was really nervous about that, because long ago when I was clear from my bp regimen, I never used moisturizer.

I'm at my last drop of my BP wash, and the other one I had has acids in it and it's too harsh for me right now. So, I bought another fw. This time I got the 3 in 1 bp wash. I hate to switch because I won't know if I'm breaking out from that since it's new, but I literally have no choice since they don't make my old bp wash anymore.

My skin is dry. It feels okay, but my makeup looks not so hot with the flakies. I bought on the spot, because I was thinking of using that in the am. Ummm, it was like $7 for the littlest tube I think I've ever seen. Are they serious?! I so wish I could use Dan's but it dries me out and irritates me too bad. I read on MUA that some girl took it to her lab and tested it and it's PH is very low, so I think I now know why. I wish Dan would make one for sensitive skin people, like a cream version with glycerin and stuff. :(

Anyway, I may return that and get Benzac since I heard really good things about it. It's a lot bigger than the on the spot too.

The ones I had are going away. I had coffee today. I swear coffee makes my skin better. I read that it does affect hormones so maybe it does. Whenever I stop because if my stomach, I eventually break out. I heard it increases estrogen, so it makes sense it would help my skin.

I'm trying the DGL for my stomach again too.

I'll probably take an aspirin tonight too, just in case. I'm getting sick of writing this blog, lol.

My skin is sooo dry. It doesn't hurt and it isn't red or irritated, but there's literally not a drop of oil. My makeup looks weird, and with it on, I see pieces of dead skin flaking. Yuck.

I don't have any new ones. The one on my temple is shrinking, the one near my lip is practically gone, and I have one other that is there, kinda big but not too obvious, which doesn't make sense, but that's what it's like.

Every little bump that was making my skin feel grainy when I washed it is now gone. My FH is a lot clearer -- all of those little bumps are gone save a few.

So, I'm doing okay except for the dryness. I know that will take awhile to go away, months. I have vague flashbacks from my 20's when I would begin this regimen and it was this way for months.

I'm still taking baby aspirin 1x a day. I'm still drinking coffee. I'm using the bp all over every night with moisturizer on top. I've been using my makeup for a few days, but I don't wear it too long. I still feel like my new makeup will break me out for some reason, paranoia, because it's new.

I'm milking my BP wash for every last drop because I'm scared to switch. I haven't used the on the spot in the am, because I'm scared it will break me out or dry me even more.

This better work.

I used my new FW last night. I also tried the 2.5% just on my FH to see how my skin reacts to it. It is less dry, in fact, it looks a bit oily. I'm going to keep using it there to see how I do. I may use it everywhere if it does well.

I'm not crazy about this FW. It has fragrance in it, and though it's listed as one of the last ingredients, it's a strong smell and I don't even like the smell, personally. It also has menthol in it, which I don't like. I don't need my skin to feel all tingly, thank you. I used it in the shower and it got around my eyes and they felt all tingly. I also don't like the beads. I expected them to be finer. If it doesn't add to my acne issues, then I don't care, I guess. I wish I could get my regular FW.

I'm using the OTS 2x a day on my FH to see how that goes. That area isn't nearly as dry as where I use the 10% obviously. Skin looks okay, but I don't know if that's the DKR, or because my hormones have gotten better from where I am in my cycle or even from the coffee. I won't likely know that until next month.

So I'm still using that fw and still gagging over the fragrance. Blech. It smells like men's aftershave. It hasn't broken me out though.

I'm using on the spot and it's okay I'm only using it 1x a day.. I don't like how it feels on my face. I think it's the bentonite. I ordered benzac ac, 5%, because they didn't have the 2.5%. That doesn't have bentonite. Still wish I could use Dan's. Dan, pleassse make a gentler version for us sensitive skin folks. Just make a dupe of benzac's. i'll pay extra. smile.png

Skin looks fine. It's still dry. I have some on my jaw underneath, but you can't see them. I'm seriously the most PMS I've ever been in my whole life, no lie. I watch Lifetime movies 24/7 and eat chocolate and everything gets on my nerves. I don't usually do that and I don't usually ever get PMS symptoms. I no likey.

I'm still taking the omegas. I'm still drinking coffee. I want menopause. Now.

So it's officially one month today. My skin is clear, but my androgens may have settled down, so we'll see what happens next month. I forgot to use moisturizer last night -- need to remember that tonight.

I'm wearing my makeup, which is new, so I'm not sure if it works for my skin yet. I hope it does because I like it. I can't wait until my skin is used to BP so I can use it 2x a day, because maybe then I won't have to worry about my mu at all. Skin's still a bit flaky.

PS- Still all estrogened up and watching lifetime movies. It's 'tainted love tueday,' woohoo.

I don't like On the Spot. I dislike how it feels on my face, the consistency of it. I really do prefer a gel. I have a blemish.

I also dislike my new FW. I don't like the smell and the scrubbing beads -- not sure what to do about that. I don't feel like buying another fw. Really wish my fw wasn't discontinued.

I worked out today.

Week 3

I am clear for the most part. Now I wait and see what my hormones decide to do this month. I'm at 5 months no AA's, so after next month, I should know where I stand hormone-fluctuation wise. I think it takes 3-6 months to see what happens after you stop (or start) a hormone drug. I know they're changing, because my TOTM moved around.

I'm still drinking coffee and I want to stop. It isn't good for my stomach condition, but I'm scared if I stop that my SHBG will decrease and I'll break out more. I hate that everything good for my acne ruins my stomach.

My skin is less dry but still flaky. I'm still using on the spot and still not crazy about it. It's the texture I don't like, which I think is messed up from the bentonite. I also prefer a gel product. OTS is cream and it leaves a white residue and it's grainy. I'm still only using it once a day because my skin is still flaky on it. I'd really like to go up to 2x a day, but don't want the extra dryness and I don't have any acne now anyway.

I'm still not crazy about my face wash but I've gotten used to the fragrance and it doesn't clog my pores. I'd love it if it didn't have those scrubbing beads, love it the most if it didn't have menthol too, but it's the beads that make me not like it. Still, I don't want to change it now, then I wouldn't know what broke me out, assuming I broke out.

Today makes week 3 if I start counting when I began using the BP all over every night, and I think that's where I should start the clock, so I am at week three today. Really no redness, but still a bit flakey. I only use it 1x a day still. I'm using 2.5%.

I am getting a pimple. I have a lot of flakiness on my left side but not as much on my right. I'm wondering if I put too much on the left side. I hate how the flakiness looks. Yuck. I swear it seems like OTS dries me more than the 10% gel did. I think it's partly because I apply it consistently every night but also the bentonite. It has a chalky, dry texture and bentonite dries skin. I can't wait to go back to a gel. Hate OTS.

okay, my skin is in need of a break from this. It's peeling a little too much for my taste. I'm just going to spot treat tonight and for as long as I can. Parts of my skin are peeling and other parts are shiny, like it wants to peel. It's not at all red or anything, but it's flaking. I wish my skin would just get used to this already.

I haven't used bp since the 12th -- 3 days ago. My skin is still flaking, but it's getting better. I haven't broken out. I plan on using it again, I just don't know when. My skin needs a break and I don't like the OTS formula at all. It might be breaking me out a little. I'm pretty sure it's drying, and seems even more drying than the 10% gel I was using, it could be the bentonite, because it's definitely not the %. I spot treat any areas with the 10% gel, if I have anything, of course.

Skin is still clear. I really hate ots, and think it was irritating my skin and maybe causing some breakouts. I'm sticking to a gel from now on when I use it all over again.

edit: I spoke too soon. I got one and I think it's because I wait too long to wash my face. I waited 4-5 hours (I need to stop that) and it's humid, so I was sweating and all that. I have to wash my face within an hour of waking. I know this, but I never do it. Maybe now I will...

I am going to try & get my old FW, because I hate the new one. I think it's irritating my skin from the beads, fragrance, and menthol. I hope they have it. It's the only FW I like.

I'm using the BP again, but not ots, and I'm only using it for like 4 hrs or so.

I'm really trying to work out consistently from here on out. I worked out yesterday and need to do it at least 3x a week.

I worked out again today. I used bp all over again today for about 4 hrs. I'm using what I could scrape out of my old FW & seeing if I can get it from the pharm, but that's doubtful. My old FW is better than any out there. It's a shame I had to run out of it when I began the regimen. If I can't get it, I'm going to try hibiclens again. My fw being up in the air is a big problem.

My skin isn't too great at all.

So I finally received my benzac ac today that I ordered from a supposedly respectable Canadian pharmacy and the writing on the box and product is in Turkish! I am beyond pissed. I was so excited to try this and now I feel like I need to toss it. It's supposed to be from France and have the writing in English. It's annoying because if I lived in AU, I could walk into any pharm and buy it otc.

I hate the way my skin looks. It's dry and just terrible. I'm completely gutted over the 'benzac.'

okay, so I'm going to try dan's bp again since I have some from before in my drawer. I'm only going to use it on my forehead and maybe nose. I would seriously love it if I could use this, especially since I am on these forums for like 10 yrs and can support them this way. Gah. I hope it works. I seriously don't even know what to do anymore.

I just applied dan's bp. I ended up putting it everywhere. smile.png It feels so nice on my skin. I absolutely LOVE the texture and how it absorbs into my skin! This is so much nicer than the dreaded OTS; ugh, how I hated that stuff and how it felt on my skin. I even like it better than persa gel which has a really nice consistency. don't have any burning, despite using 10% the past few days, and bc of that, I started out with already dry skin, so I feel that's a good sign! I used this when I stopped my AA and my skin was dry and I hadn't used bp in a long time, so maybe that's why it acted weird...? I hope so. His bp gets consistently stellar ratings, so I feel like I need to give it another shot. Even on MUA, it gets good reviews. I hope so badly this works for me. I don't even want to leave my house lately.

I left the bp on for 5 hrs. I washed with hibiclens because I ran out of my meager scrapings of my normal (old) fw. My face didn't sting or anything with the bp on. It *may* have looked a little red, but not too much. It actually felt rather nice on my face and I could imagine it being good under makeup. Of course, this is only day 1, though. Once washed, it's flaking, like usual as of late. I hate that & wish it would stop.

Odd note not related to bp; I think my hair is getting thicker. It takes forever to dry now, when it didn't take that long before -- this actually began some months ago. Anyway, now I looked at it, because I'm curious as to wth is going on and it looks fuller when it's up, like there's more of it. It could be those hairs that were sprouting before are long enough now to affect how my crown looks and make it thicker, hence it drying sooo slowly. This is a positive if true. It would also suggest my test. is not affecting my hair follicles for some reason. I do have oily hair now that I stopped antiandrogens, but I do wash daily to mitigate the affect of DHT on my follicles. So, it seems I'm producing adequate, or a lot of androgens, but it's not affecting the hair thickness which is unexpected. I'm glad, but don't understand. Hormones are so baffling sometimes.

I'll likely spot treat with 10% on anything active, because I'm a bit paranoid right now about 2.5% treating active stuff.

My skin looks pretty good today. It's a tiny bit pink/red, but it doesn't bother me at all. It's not irritated or dry. I swear the hibiclens makes my skin soft, which doesn't make sense, but I noticed that before when I used it.

I'm going to put on the bp all over in a bit. I'll leave it for at least 4 hours.

I guess I'll be using the hibiclens for now.

So I left it on for about 4 hrs again. I like it so far! It sorta seems moisturizing, but maybe that's the hibliclens, but it doesn't seem too drying. I'm guessing that was just my skin being just off AA's and being super sensitive. I hope I continue to like it.

So, this is day 2 of my dan's bp regimen. My timeline is odd because I've been using other bp's for at least 3 weeks, but really longer, so I don't know what to expect. It's still bit flaky, but not too bad (I don't think). It feels very soft and smooth and nourished, which again, I find weird, but not complaining.

My fingers and toes are crossed.

My skin is fine. It's a tad dry, but not too bad. Right now, I'm not using moisturizer because I'm leery of them, but I'll add it back in soon once I'm sure I'm clear.

It's too soon to tell, really, but I think I really like the hibiclens. It seems to really not dry out my skin and makes it soft.

I'll use it again for like 4 hrs. I'm going to use it that way until I'm used to it, then up it. This seems to work well for me.I'm not crazy about sleeping with anything on my face. I haven't done that since 'tane because I didn't need to, so I'm not crazy about it. I think the skin likes to breathe at rest and it's how the skin heals itself. But -- when I was on my bp regimen back in the day, I slept in it, so I will probably need to now.

I worked out today.

My skin looks really good! It's way less dry. I wore makeup today for the 1st time in weeks and it looked good, no flakies. Of course I wore moisturizer underneath, but still -- I did that with the OTS and it still looked a wreck of dry skin. It was a mess. I really think the OTS made my skin really dry from the bentonite. I hate that stuff (OTS).

I'm seriously loving dan's bp and so glad I gave it another shot.
