I gotta let this out. I AM BREAKING OUT!!! I really thought I was doing somewhat OK. But 4 major cysts are growing on my neck. It's sooooo devastating. urg :( plus, I got couple minor breakouts on my chin and my right cheek. I dont understand why. Could it be irritation from jojoba oil scrub? Could it be makeup that I wear (I now wear makeup only about twice a week)? COuld it be AHA+ that I put on last night? I'm now again frustrated. I do understand I wont be completely clear yet, but just the fact that major breakouts come all at once really is making me mad! when will I ever be free from acne... sigh*

you should see a dermatologist. i think 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide alone is not gonna clear your skin.

LOG

week 12 + day 6

It's been so long since I have updated my log. I was really devastated when I wrote my last log. I just couldnt deal with dryness/flakiness along with the breakouts on my jawline as well as my upper lip area and cheeks. I am now about on 13th weeks with the regimen and BOY am I glad that I didn't give up. I kinda been slacking on taking vitamin C and zinc. But I faithfully stuck to the regimen and now I am somewhat clear. MUCH MUCH MUCH better than last time. I have about 2 active acnes on my neck. Other than that, I do not have any breakouts on my face so far. I really do feel like this regimen is a matter of being patient and diligent.

One thing that really helped me to reduce dryness was my new moisturizer. I switched from Dan's moisturizer to CVS knock-off cetaphil moisturizer. I was so scared to try new products other than Dan's products but I took the courage to try other things since Dan's moisturizer really wasn't doing anything. The new moisturizer really reduced dryness on my face. However, the downside of this moisturizer is that it's bit sticky when you first apply it. I really wouldn't say it's greasy but I feel like some other people might feel it's bit greasy because it's so sticky.

I am using AHA+ as a spot treatment and I use freeman facial enzyme mask pineapple every third night to reduce scars. I am not sure if this mask is working but it does not break me out. The description states "this enzyme mask, with pineapple extract and AHAs, gently exfoliates while lightly moisturizing, leaving your skin soft, supple and younger-looking."

I just ordered sudocream from ebay to reduce scarring. I heard it's really drying, we will see how it goes once it gets here :) I will update you with pictures later. PEACE

LONG TIME NO SEE!!! I've been really busy with school and then enjoying every moment of this winter break from school :) My face was somewhat clear and I was so happy. But recently I've been really suffering from horrible dryness. I think it's because I was on a trip and forgot to bring my jojoba oil and my moisturizer. So I didnt moisturize my skin enough which really didnt effect me immediately so I thought I was okay. But I guess not  !!! because my skin feels sooo leathery and wrinkly. PLUS, I think this dryness is actually causing breakouts... I know it's horrible, but I can surely say that my skin is much better. I wish I can show you guys the pictures but I am tooooo lazy to take one and upload  ...

Now, my biggest problem is taking care of dryness and scars :) but i'm happy for my skin

OHOHOHOH!!! word about sudocream. IT IS AMMMMAAAAAZZZZZIIIINNNNGGGG!!! For those of you havent tried out this product, you guys NEED to try it. It really helps reducing breakouts!

week 17 + 2 days

HERE'S a photo update!

I took this with my phone camera, so the quality of this picture is not that great. So, it didn't pick up somewhat less severe hyperpigmentation or scarring. I have another breakout on my chin area, so not completely free from breakouts but I think you can see that my skin is much better. EH? hehe. I think it's from using a wrong makeup product, I used rimmel bronzer and I think this is causing breakouts... I think...

As for makeup... I've heard great things about almay cosmetic, so I use TLC mixed with pureblend. Pureblend contain jojoba and sweet almond oil, so I think it helps with dry areas. But... still there's scars that I cant hide even with makeup.

Any tips on reducing scarring! anyone?

Holy hell your skin looks incredible!! My chin keeps breaking out too and it is annoooying, but I'm sure we'll both be clear in no time :D

As for your scars, there's not all that much you can do but wait. Maybe try some AHA?

Hello, everyone. No active breakouts. I just started vinegar method, it's tolerable. I think I am actually addicted to its smell. LOL. :surprised: I think some of hyperpigmentation has faded already. My skin feels great! I think I just need to becareful of some of cosmetic lines to prevent from breakouts...

Okay guys. I am back. Unfortunately with the bad news :(

My skin is back to that horrible condition again, maybe it's because of the weather change?! It seems like My skin is the worst around this time of the year.

Here is an update... As my skin got better, I Followed the regimen only at night and my skin was okay. So, I tried bunch of chemical peels thinking that it would be a quick remedy for my hormonal acne, but I guess it was a bad idea. Although I started salicylic acid peel two weeks ago and it could all be just purging process but I just can't stand all the white heads plus visible peeling... So I decided to go back to Dan's regimen. I started tonight and here is my current skin condition. BLAH. The lighting made it look somewhat better than it actually is...

You need to treat ur acne internally or else it will be a long battle. Go to a hormone specialist and see if u need to get on bc. Look around how people got clear through dietary changes specially if constipation is an issue. Also start doing hardcore yoga including headstand and shoulderstand.

Have you thought about hormonal treatment? My acne was worse than yours for years, it did not consistently respond to anything until I went on spironolactone. I went from worse than your picture to 100% clear in 6 months. I am still completely clear.

I tried many things diligently, including BP, peels, retinoids, antibiotics, diet changes, blue lights...you name it I've done it.

Thank you for your concerns... But the only thing that worries me is the cost to see a dermatologist. I don't have any insurance and I feel like going to derm is just a luxury for me... But thank you everyone, I will definitely read and watch what I eat.

Hey,

Just wanted to say to hang in there and I see improvements! Keep it up. You may want to check into cutting out milk and getting loads of Vitamin A in your diet (spinach, kale, sweet potatoes, etc.)!

Good luck!
