I've been using Dan's jojoba for about a week now, and I've noticed a couple of things about it. The consistency is a little more liquidy than the other brands I've used. So it goes on a little more smoothly and easily than the others. It also appears that I need to use a little less than the others to get the same amount of moisturizing. I'm digging it.
I had a shoot last weekend where the make-up artist used a foundation where the first ingredient was capric/caprylic triglycerides. It's a 5 out of 5 on the comedogenicity scales I've seen, and it didn't break me out after being on my skin for about eight hours. I did get two very tiny, completely flat, pinkish discolourations a few days later, but they didn't turn into anything and no one would ever notice them. They were gone in less than a day, too. I wonder if the Regimen helps keep the bad products from being quite so bad.

Still using one pump of BP and still using Dan's jojoba. Skin looks great. Absolutely no complaints. That jojoba is going to last forever, and I use it twice a day on my face and once a day in my hair, which is getting pretty long now. The jojoba is a real steal. I might try to use progressively less BP to see how little I can get away with.

Still going strong with one pump of BP and still no problems. I got a tiny discolouration on my forehead that disappeared within a few hours. This is the kind of stupid nit-picking that I have the luxury of doing with my skin now.
As the summer approaches, I start getting more concerned about pityrosporum folliculitis (PF), but that's only if I stay in a humid environment for too many days. It last occurred really badly when I was in Montpellier for a few weeks. After about three days, it appeared and got progressively worse until I left a few weeks later. Back then, I was using a pore-refining toner, followed by a mixture of a bit of BP, Diacneal, and sulfur cream. That kept my acne relatively at bay, but it didn't help my PF at all.
I'm thinking that now, with the BP and an AHA moisturizer at night, it should be pretty good. I haven't tested it out yet because I'm kind of wary of getting it again. There's a chance that I might be in Singapore soon for a few months so I'll have to figure out something soon. I've read the boards online here, but since my PF is so limited, I'm not sure if the treatments described really apply to me. I want to avoid any treatment that might cause fungal resistance (like bacterial resistance). Maybe there's a systemic and topical combination that would be effective. If anyone knows, I'd be delighted to hear more about it.

I had a photo shoot a couple of days ago where they used Cinema Secrets make-up. They didn't need to use much, just some under-eye concealing, but I hate that brand because the first ingredient (capric/caprylic triglycerides) is so comedogenic. Luckily, it was only a half-day shoot so I could wash it off pretty quickly. No break-outs from it like the miniscule one I had the last time I wore it. Some make-up artists like to do your whole face for some reason, even if it's completely clear.
The make-up artist commented on how smoothly the make-up went on. I told her it was because of the Dan's jojoba. Love that stuff.

I've been trying to see how little BP I can get away with. I'm still using it twice a day, but I'm using less each time. I tied an elastic band around the top of the pump so that it stops it from going down all the way. I guess I'm at about 3/4 of a pump now for a few days. No problems yet. I'll try lowering the amount each month until I start breaking out.

I haven't had any new spots, using the lesser amount of BP so I've lessened it again. Now I'm at the highly scientific level of two elastic band widths from the top of the pump. So, I guess it goes down about 80% of the way (it was probably at about 90% before, not 3/4). We'll try this for a couple more weeks and see what happens.

Still good with the 80% of a pump. I wonder if I'll eventually be able to get down to once a day. And eventually not at all. My sisters still break out in their 40s and 50s so I doubt that I'll ever be totally free of it without treatment.
On another note, I had been using Garnier Fructics Curls & Shine shampoo and conditioner. Soon after I started with that, I started breaking out on my scalp and a bit on my shoulders, back, and backside. Since switching (to Dove Daily Moisture Therapy) a few days ago, it's all calmed down.
I'm stoked about trying out Dan's AHA. I'm currently using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, Night. I'll be out of that in a couple of weeks so I'll stock up on Dan's BP and get some of the AHA while I'm at it.

I got my Dan's AHA a couple of days ago, and the first thing I noticed was that the bottle was huge. It's probably more than twice as large as the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion (NHSFL) bottle I was using, and it cost about the same.
I started using it that night. I was expecting it to sting since it has a higher AHA concentration than the NHSFL. It didn't, and it didn't make my face red or burny or anything else I was expecting for a while during the adjustment period. No adjustment period.
I like the texture, which is thicker than NHSFL. It also has no noticeable smell, where the NHSFL smelled "like grandma" as an ex used to say, whatever that meant. My grandmother smelled like stale cigarettes and scotch mints.
I also decided to replace my daytime body acne BP regimen with the AHA. I'm still using the BP at night, but I'm using the AHA during the day so that I can wear coloured shirts. In the summer, it's just too hot to wear a white shirt with a coloured shirt on top. It's been a couple of days, and I haven't broken out. I hope that it works because it's going to be a hot summer, it seems.
It's too early to tell how effective it is, but I'm hopeful that it will work well on my face and body. So far, my skin looks about the same, if not a bit more even and plumper. Time will tell. Pushing onward.

Still good with 80% of a pump. Tomorrow, I'll go down to 70%, twice a day. Thrilling, dear readers, I know.
I've been using Dan's AHA for a few days now, and there's only one thing so far that I'm not thrilled about it. I'm not sure if I'm using too much, but it has a tendency to ball up. I think the texture is just a little bit off. Maybe if it were a bit thinner, it wouldn't do that. I've never had that problem with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion. I'm sure I'll perfect its application soon.

Thanks for stopping by, howling bells. I'm loving Dan's AHA. I've figured out that I was just using too much so now I don't have a problem with it balling up any more. Also, it's been about two weeks with using the AHA on my back during the day instead of BP, and I haven't had a spot yet. Plus, I get to wear colourful shirts in the summer, which is a great plus. Love that. I've also been about a week and a bit with the 70% of a pump, and no spots on my face. And new Olay moisturizer is working out well, too. It moisturizes very well, and it's not shiny like the Cetaphil was.
So all good news again to report. At the beginning of next week, I'll go down to 60% of a pump to see if that still keeps me clear. I'm hoping that I'll eventually be able to get down to once-a-day BP in the morning and AHA at night. Or maybe nothing at all. That's likely not going to happen anytime soon if my family skin genetics are that strong with me.

Congrats on lowering the BP dosage. I'm just beginning to do the same and it is nerve wracking. Every morning I run to the bathroom to put in my contacts just to look at my skin. Can't remember the last time I was in such a panic first thing in the morning.
I believe it is possible to adjust to a low dose BP, but only after a long term high dose. Sounds like you've been doing the BP for a while so I think you'll be ok. I'm only using BP in the morning, but I'm using the high retinol Green Cream at night. Right now I'm at about 60-70% BP and so far so good. My skin has gotten a little oilier but, I don't think that is so horrible after mega-dosing on the BP.
Thank you for the updates and good luck to you and your skin!
Thanks, Brandy and Eryka. I hope your regimens are still working out!
It's kind of nerve-wracking for me as well. I've gotten used to having clear skin, and the prospect of lowering the BP until I start breaking out has its minuses in that I'll have to break out to know to stop. But lessening the dryness is appealing enough to give it a go.

I've been using Dan's AHA for a while now so I think I can accurately say what I think about it. Overall, I think it's a great product. It does all the things it claims to. My skin looks great, even better than when using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion. My only complaint is with its texture. I would prefer that it be a little thinner, and it has a tendency to ball up a bit. Other than its texture and balling-up-ness, I totally dig it.

With using only 1/3 of a finger, I need to mix in a couple of drops of jojoba to make it spread all over my face before the BP dries out. Small price to pay. If only I had only a small trouble area, but I have to be vigilant with my whole face.
I think I'll have to stick with 1/3 of a finger for a while. It seems to be totally effective and doesn't dry out my skin at all. Maybe I'll change my mind when it starts getting colder and drier out. I can't believe that the summer is winding down already. I love the fall, though.
I got a bit of an ingrown hair from careless shaving a couple of days ago. I decided to go after it yesterday. It's not technically an acne spot, but it's still a bit unsightly. I disinfected it with a touch of rubbing alcohol and did the Regimen as usual. At night, I globbed some AHA on top of it. This morning, it was still a bit tender to touch, but it wasn't getting infected or getting worse. A touch of concealer over it, and it's not even noticeable.

Great log and congrats on all your success.
I'm only a week in and in the beginning I had trouble covering my face with BP b/c I was only using a small amount so I increased but then had negative side effects - major flaking & slight peeling.
I noticed you add jojoba to the BP. That helps make it easier to cover your face with a small amount of BP? So you just mix a few drops of jojoba with the BP and that's it?
