Hey guys...So today I'm having a really bad skin day :( About 2 months ago, I started using the " Kind to skin- simple refreshing facial wash" because it got some awesome reviews and had NO comedogenic ingredients. After only one use, I started seeing little pimples on my forehead...I kept using it thinking it was just " purging" until today, I've finally had enough. Switched back to my old cleanser...has anyone had any bad experiences with this face wash or ingredient?

I also started the Paula's choice bha liquid around that time too..which gave me small red pimples on my forehead. Can't seem to figure out which one is causing it so I've eliminated both.

Salicylic acid always gives me little red bumps, and I think this is not super uncommon. So, if I had to guess, I would think the BHA (which is salicylic acid) is the culprit. However, I also had this same reaction once with Biore make-up removing wipes which, so far as I know, have no BHA in them, so it could be the cleanser.

Sorry I'm so useless! However, I did find that when I stopped using a product that caused this reaction, it cleared up in less than a week. So why not try just cutting out one first so you can get a sense of what is causing it.

What makes you think it's the cocamidopropyl beatine specifically?

I'm not really 100% sure. Just figured it was the main issue- there's so many articles about how drying and irritating it is! All the Other ingredients are non pore clogging either. But I do remember trying another cleanser about 2 years ago and the first day I got these little clogged bumps on my forehead- and when I switched back, they stopped. Maybe it's from the drying cleansers

If you read reviews for the simple cleanser on makeupalley, other people also claim it breaks them out. I'm not sure if cocamidopropyl betaine would be the cause though. If it is then maybe you are sensitive to other coconut derivatives as well. I've also heard about people breaking out from PC BHA liquid so it's hard to really tell what your problem is. What cleanser do you normally use?

I've used Neostrata Clarifying Gel cleanser for 2 years..I only switched because the " simple" one claimed to be so much more gentle! But I guess I'll switch back and see if that makes a difference.

Look at the back of the product and see if it contains salt. From what I googled, here are the complete ingredients:

Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Sodium Chloride, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pantolactone, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate

If it has salt in it, it will dry your skin and cause acne. Hope this helps. BTW what's your old cleanser called?
