Hello Everyone! I am a newbie here so help me get the rules right please.
I have recently started using a new routine for my face for about a week and a half or so. I use............
Zapzyt Cleanser(Salicylic Acid)
Acnefree Toner (Witch Hazel, Glycolic Acid, etc.)
Acnefree Repair Lotion (BP 3.7%)
Olay Everyday Moisturizer (SPF 15)
And I am happy to report it helps my face! A little bit...
BUT.
My face peels like CRAZY! Peeling everywhere, sometimes people notice, and my skin feels tight and dry all the time, my moisturizer does nothing. So I tried Cetaphil Mosturizer and I had NO peeling, but I don't know if that will break me out or not so I don't want to start using that. Obviously you can tell my routine is very drying itself(Ingredients) but I just don't know what to do. Is it good that my routine exfoliates my face or not for acne?
Thanks!

I had to respond to "dancingteen."
Exfoliation is absolutely good for acne. I would say it's more important than anti-bacterials. However, if your face is getting very irritated and dry, your skin will take a turn for the worst. It'll make your current blemishes much harder to heal, because you're drying and irritating your current acne.
First, I would choose a gentle cleanser that has no active ingredients. Acne.org's cleanser is great.
Second, I would replace the toner with something Paula's Choice BHA.
Third, I would exfoliate during the day with a moisturizer, and apply the BP at night with no moisturizer.
These are all suggestions. I would talk to your mom about looking at these products I mentioned and seeing if you can order them online. Acnefree, Zapzyt... these are CVS product junk. Paula's Choice and Acne.org products have been reviewed and used tirelessly by everyone on here.
Don't buy into the pretty packaged products from CVS. Order from companies you can trust!
