This tit thing is ridiculous. Any mother knows that the real changes in the breast tissue occur during the first months of pregnancy. So if having kids will cause you saggy boobs, then it will occur with or without breastfeeding.

After you stop nursing it takes about 6-9 months for your breasts to get back to the shape and structure they would have had without nursing. Just for information to all he young girls on here that don't yet have kids ( to be honest , those two are the only part of my body below my neck that was NOT ruined by the pregnancies LOL, and nursing extremely helps to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight).

I came across this diagram today about the benefits of breastfeeding. I think some of these claims are exaggerated. What do you think?

I was breastfed for nearly a year but when I was born I had baby acne, didn't come back till I was about 12 though... I have noticed that they suggest pregnant and breastfeeding women take probiotics because it seems babies have less allergies when that's done, so clearly it has an effect on the immune system. So it's not just being breast-fed that will help, but what the mom is consuming plays a role as well.

All I know is that my immune system is (or was-hopefully) shot and I have had acne, allergies (skin and food intolerances), tonsillectomy, bells palsy, a hernia, acid reflux, you name it.

I was breastfed..

The connection between the immune system and all of that is quite farfetched. If that's the case then why don't humans breastfeed their whole lives?

It's all in your genes and environment, not whether or not you were breastfed as an infant. Let's all get real. I do agree that what we (and our mother's when breastfeeding as Mel Mel points out) consume plays a role on health - and always will - but attributing any disease to not being breastfed is just plain silly.

In reply to Calumma about breast feeding not casuing any damage to your tits, lol. I know personally 3 women (one being my sister) who have an inverted nipple, a nipple that goes "IN" caused directly from breast feeding. Even the doctor says so, it a total possibility (espeacially if you always feed off the same breast) so yes, it can 100% cause degradation to your boobs, but not always. some girls get stretch marks for life, some dont. Just the way it is.

In very rare cases (my friend is an IBCLC lactation assistant , I don't know the correct word in english, and I asked her about this because I never heard about it) a flat nipple can turn into an inverted nipple from pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is most likely the constant appliance of a wrong nursing technique with flat nipples (they need a special way attaching the baby to the breast).

It occurs very seldom here, because every hospital has midwifes of course, but they also have lactation specialists to help mothers with special circumstances, like they check your breasts and tell you what you should watch out for.

She is doing this for many years now and has seen thousands of breasts, and she has seen a nursing-associated inverted nipple twice in her career.

I would not call an inverted nipple a 100% degradation of your breasts btw. There are devices to correct that, you can do a little surgery to correct it or just get a nice piercing that will get the nipple back to normal AND blinking at the same time ;)

Stretch marks in breasts and tummy occur during pregnancy. Every woman knows that moment when you wake up after missing your period and you feel like pamela anderson and eventually cannot see your toes ;)
