I had had enough of the "Caveman regimen".Though it has certainly made my skin better in terms of complexion and acne .But i still get cysts occasionally. And this dead skin problem is getting on my nerves.A white trail is formed on my cheeks when i sweat. It looks disgusting. So here i am asking you guys for help smile.png .With all due humility i'd like to return to washing my face ,but not more than once a day.I used to have this DOVE orange face wash.It stripped my face of the natural oil layer.

So what do you suggest? Is cetaphil good enough? Or something else? Also i'm from India. So it should be available here smile.png

Thank you smile.png

I love Cetaphil. At first I was like, wtf this is awful! The texture isn't great at initially, but I now wouldn't use anything else. You get used to it.

There's no tightness, no dryness, just cleanliness! :)

Well , it depends do you have sensitive skin? I find cetaphil still strips my natural oils n Get irritarion frm it especially for active acne. Im still looking for a good cleanser and moisturizer.

Having tried every facial cleanser out there, including Cetaphil, I like Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash the best, as do many other acne sufferers who have reviewed it on Amazon.

Even my food has less oil than my skin. :) I envy people who have tight pores and even tone.

One last question to satiate my skin-addict brain.Does Saslic dries your skin? I dread dry skin.It makes me shudder. It breaks me out even more. That was the reason i got fed up and adopted cave-man regimen.

Anyways ,it's time to hit the sack.Good night :)

it will not make u crazy dry.

since u have oily skin,it would be apt for it is to keep u comparatively less oily for a good time.

hey dee ...it's my first day of Saslic! ,i mean it smelled like some chemical from the chemistry lab lol... And it spreads so less...i doubt if the bottle even lasts 2 weeks haha...Anyways it didn't dry my skin. But it did make my face red like hell :( . I am positive that it wouldn't make things worse. :) Also it killed that dead skin like the dead skin was a thug and saslic the FBI! hehe... i'll use it once everyday to begin with.

heya!

did u get the orange bottle?

it doesnt smell that strong.or may be my olfactory nerves are weak.

it ideally,if used twice and in right amount, should last more than one month(for a face of normal size).

how many small pumps are u using?

red?

a red that lasted or just red for a while?

yes,use it once just for the comfy factor, until u get used to it.

Well one is saslic DS with 2 percent SA.I have the other one.The one with 1 % SA. Learning from my BP days (oh,my misadventures with BP ),with hindsight i chose the one with lesser SA concentration.I always use to chose the stronger BP tube.I once applied 5% BP and it killed my skin :/.The red lasted for a while.Although it's back to normal now.I used 4 small pumps. Is that too much? Yes i have a big face.(my dad told me i used to fall everyday when i was small,my head was twice the size of my body LOL )

Cetaphil is amazing! It's so easy to spread across your face and it's so gentle and it smells lovely! Once washed off it leaves my face just right, not dry however it feels very clean!

good,i use the 1% one too.

good that u started with 1%.

u can always graduate to DS.

since u have oily skin.

dnt use too much u dnt need to.

just wet ur face a lil',massage the foam well for say10-15 seconds or more and keep it that way to kinda dry for 1 minute or a lil' more.

SA needs to absorbed into the dermal layers for functioning.

as for spreading,i dint get it.

how is it difficult?

ur face is wet and its a foamy liquid!!how difficult could it be.

also,washing is very easy,isnt it?

unlike many other cleansers(lucidum for example) u dnt have keep splashing water hundred times.

what about the redness?

It's been a disaster for me dee :(... I never had red zits on my cheeks when i was on the caveman regimen.Face washes always irritate tiny bumps which normally would go on their own.And now that i used Saslic today (2nd day) ,i got a red zit near the right side of my nose. I think i will continue with my caveman approach and use Saslic whenever i feel like exfoliating... What do you think? Isn't that a good modified approach?

i would say u carry on for at least a week and see.

i dnt think u're intolerant.

some say its 'purging'.

what basically happens in some case is these zits are suppose to happen but since it's 'exfoliating' so these come up to surface sooner.

same thing happens with other products like retin-A, AHA, etc.

these should be okay in 2 weeks or so.

do u think u r intolerant?

what small or bif is the zit?does it have a head?

except for the zit , is the rest of the skin okay?

I'm positive that i am intolerant.Because as soon as i apply something on my face,i get redness and i get zits out of nowhere! It was a small zit.It didn't have a head.It was just a red inflammatory area. Now it's been almost 4 hours. And the zit has disappeared.(Now i understand why my skin got irritated so much prior to my caveman commitment.Because i'd again wash my skin with a face wash and the zit would grow worse instead of calming down).I'm going to try using Saslic when i need to exfoliate. That way maybe i can keep the irritation down to minimal. And i can still exfoliate and prevent acne caused because of dead skin?

Hey dee dee smile.png . You know what. I think my skin is Super^zillion times SENSITIVE .Because almost everything causes me to breakout more sad.png . I now have an explanation for my temple cystic breakout. Small little rashes are formed which would normally go on their own if they are left undisturbed and untouched by anything harsh. But i wash my hair like everyday with DOVE shampoo. And BAM! the soapy shampoo solution trickles down to the temple area and the rashes get red .The redness progresses to redness with inflammation.Which slowly forms a big stodgy cyst.

Now i'm left in a dilemma.I feel uncomfortable if i don't wash my hair.It feels so unkempt... What do you suggest?

How's your acne?
