How effective was it for reducing oily skin, redness and shrinking pores for you?

What gender are you and what side effects did you have?

How many mg were you taking daily?

Thank you and God bless. cool.png

I tried it a couple weeks ago. I was taking 900 mg I think. I quit though because it killed my libido lol. I was only on it for 2 weeks but it didnt do anything for my oily skin where as a high dose of B5 got rid of the oil in a few days.

900 mg is too much though, the recommended amount is 320.

I took the whole herb capsules too (dried up berries) and didnt notice any effects on my body whatsoever. I took 1,800mg a day for about a month. Most people have success with the extract pills, not sure why.

Im a female and I was taking 160 mg if standardized saw palmetto extract twice a day.

Gave me energy and my skin seemed a little less oily. After a couple weeks I had some bad side effects. I lost so much hair off the top if my head that it clogged my bathtub drain. I became very irritable, loopy and had the worst throbbing headaches. All that went away after a few days of stopping the saw palmetto.

Saw palmetto is not worth it. There is no scientific data saying it helps with acne. If you don't have an Doctors okay to use this you could potentially poison yourself using this stuff.

University of Maryland Medical Center did a study using 320mg a day of saw palmetto in both men and women subjects and found a decrease in hormonal acne in both genders, although the men responded more favorably. They used extract supplements comprised of a minimum of 85 percent fatty acids and plant sterols.

Less side effects are experienced if multiple herbal DHT inhibitors are used (rather than taking large doses of saw palmetto, take some saw palmetto and some stinging nettle and some pygeum).

You must increase your water intake dramatically as well.
