Hi,

I have been reading website posts for years trying to find the cure for my acne problem and now I think I have solved it, I thought it was about time I added my findings to a forum to see if my findings help anyone else.

I did not suffer from acne as a teenager only a few spots here and there, mine started in my mid 20's I am now 34 so it has taken a while to discover what caused it and what solves it for me.

I have had Asthma since I was 9 and as I never had acne till I was 26 I never associated the 2 things, it now turns out that the steriod preventor inhalers I used cause the acne, I have tried lots of different types of inhalers to name a few, qvar - flixotide - servent - becotide - becloforte - seratide & a few others, all of them cause the acne. The strange thing is that Prednisalone tablets do not and nither does a nebuliser. Problem is without the medication I can not breath so its have acne and take the meds or dont have acne and die. Now I can control the acne while taking the meds but the solution would be to come off the meds, on to some that do not cause it altogether, next project solve the Asthma.

Here is what I do to solve the acne:-

Take Benadryl one a day tablets when it flares up, till its gone.

Havent needed this for a long time as once the bendryl got rid of it the small inflamations that appear are immediatly taken away by the skin care routine, which is cheap to do, I have tried all sorts of expensive products and paid upto 500 to solve it with some products, now it costs about 3 a week.

Wash every morning and evening with coaltar soap

Then on any sign of inflamation or on any spots apply Bactine "old fashioned antiseptic"

Then apply Witch Doctor gel to your whole face, "this will keep your skin in a good condition as it is a natural toner" This also contains antiseptic and is an astringent.

Then apply Antihistamine cream "very small amount" To any spot or inflammed area, this immediatly reduses the size of the spot. I buy it from Boots Chemist and it is for bites and stings etc.

Finally I then powder my face with just a cheap rimmel stay matt powder, this is just to stop my skin from looking greasy as it does get oily and it also gives me a base to apply makeup to.

I do not use moisteriser as my skin is oily ish already but to stop wrinkles I use the Witch Doctor gel and from time to time a cream from Skin Doctors called vein away plus, this is not an anti wrinkle cream but for veins on the skin, however it works really well for anti ageing and is not oily and does not irritate the acne, it works by helping the blood flow under the skin, which in turn promots healthy skin on the surface as well.

Next I have started taking Royal Jelly as we live near a local bee farm and I have heard good things, I do not think it does much for the acne, but saying that mine has gone at the moment so I can not really tell, but it does make your skin look a lot better and gives a prefered complection and reduses the size of the pores on the skin, the witch hazel also reduses pores, so as we are limited to what we can apply to the skin this works from the inside out, bit expensive but so are the anti aging products that dont work.

In the past I have tried Apple Cider Vinager - This does help to dry out the skin a bit, but not good fo you teeth or your stomach and did not work on the acne at all, it even have me an ulser inside my mouth and I always brushed and mouth washed immediatly after use.

I have tried all the vitamins - evening primrose - fish oils - rhodolia rosea - african mango - multi vits - vit a - chromnium and all sorts, none worked for acne.

Also tried Aloe vera gel, good at first then stopped working.

Changed diet to all healthy no junk low sugar, lost 2 and a half stone, still had spots.

So thats about all I can offer I think, Benadryl and priaton followed by coaltar soap - bactine - witch hazel gel & bite and sting relief cream containing antihistamine.

Mines all gone now, so I over the moon, my goal now is to be able to change my Asthma meds for something that does not effect my skin and then I will not need to any thing to control it, I am going to try nuelin sa for my asthma as it is a tablet and not inhaled so I think this will be good for my skin, but so far it is upsetting my stomach, so any ideas let me know. Thanks for listening, hope this helps someone.
