So on the regimen it seems to be the choice of breakout, or have super dry flaky skin. Which is also disgusting. Has anyone managed to cure the flakiness when you're actually applying the correct amount of BP? I'm currently using one pump of cerave, one pump of cetaphil (I mix them together). It still doesn't cure the flakiness though. I have used jojoba oil before, but I thought it was a breakout causer and made my skin stupidly shiny.
Has anyone got a good part of the regimen that keeps their skin from flaking?
Hi
After my skin has completely cleared, I went from two pumps (twice/day) to one pump (twice/day). My skin is definitely less dry, but it still flakes. On top of using less BP, I've been applying AHA twice/day, which I think has also helped.
I recently made a post about using mechanical exfoliation to get rid of flakiness. Here it is:
I'm thinking about trying this.
Thanks!
I don't have a pump dispenser BP. I use s thick fingers length like recommended. I'm guessing I would just that to half a fingers length. I don't want to start AHA at the moment. Do you use any oils?
I had this trouble and tried a couple of different ways to solve it. I found that the best way to avoid flakiness is definitely the use of aha, but also layer different types of moisturizers starting from thinnest to thickest to lock in the layers of moisture. Kind of like the Korean skincare regimen. You don't have to use serums or essences if you don't have it on hand, You can just use a light lotion (wait until that absorbs into the skin) and then a thicker lotion ( I usually add my argan oil with it). I also liked using those moisturizing sheet masks they have at the stores too. I would do that, then the thin lotion, and then a thicker lotion. Another thing that helped a lot...... and sometimes I would do. I use a little bit of honey and coconut oil (or any other oil), rub it together to melt it together so application on the face is easier, and leave it on at night. I know it's sticky and messy, but I put a towel over my pillow and tie all my hair up. I only do this if I were having major flakiness. The honey also helped with brightening my complexion/dark spots too which is a plus. Of course I use a very small of amount of each (like a dime size) so that I get just a thin layer across the face. I hope this helps.
