Thanks for the help and again, sorry for the very slow reply.

Should I moisturise, then apply salicylic acid, let it dry and then apply AHA?

And how much salicylic acid?

Thanks. I'll order some Salicylic Acid tomorrow. I'll be surprised if it dries my skin out as BP didn't affect me in the slightest after using it for a couple of weeks.

SA isnt very drying, but alcohol is, so unless it is something alcohol based, it shouldnt dry you out much. I would do this: cleanse>SA>AHA/moisturizer. If it dries you out, do half and half of moisturizer and AHA, if not, just use AHA as the last step. AHA can be irritating and burn at first or forever (depending on each person) so you might need to use a bit of moisturizer mixed with the AHA to ease burning, redness, and irritation.

I've been using a SA wash now for about two weeks and it seems I have quite a few small red spots, nothing major. Is this linked to the SA?

I've been applying SA in the shower, leaving for a few mins, washing off and then applying AHA.

Don't seem to see any difference in the scars left from old spots which is the main problem :(.

Leave the SA on if youre fighting new active acne from developing. Scars take longer to heal because they are a "secondary" problem to the human body. That means your body will fight the causes of acne (usually bacteria in pores) and as an effect, acne will go away fast-ish, BUT scars arent a big problem to the body because the body sees it as already healed so it doesnt address the issue, it doesnt even know. They usually just fade away naturally as the cells die and new cells take the place (cell turnover), the new skin cells will be the original color of your skin. The reason why AHA helps fade acne hyperpigmentation is because it speeds up the cell turnover process which just accelerates new cells taking the place of old skin cells, which speeds up hyperpigmentation fade. Although, this is still lengthy and slower than acne healing, takes patience, just keep it up though. Remember, if it takes about 3 months to get totally or almost completely clear on The Regimen, it might take 5+ months for scars to fade. FYI, extended exposure to direct sunlight and UV rays make scars/hyperpigmentation take even longer to fade and can even set them in permanently, so wouldn't be a bad idea to apply sunblock to areas with hyperpigmentation. Good luck, keep it up!

EDIT: I recommend something like THIS to apply SA and keep the SA on, and apply moisturizer/AHA over it. Basically do the Regimen, but replace BP with SA instead.

Thanks, very informative post :). The direct sunlight isn't much of an issue as it's only being applied on my chest and I'll be wearing a shirt. Oh and I live in the UK so we don't see sun much :P.

I've come across SA strips, would they be recommended?

Just trying to help as many people as best i can . Those SA strips, i guess they would be okay as long as they apply a good amount of SA? Can you link me to the strips or give me a name, so i can actually see what they are and get some more info? Recommending, i wouldnt yet, but once i can look into them, i can say; but i suggest going for either straight up topical SA 2.5% medication, like a gel, cream, or liquid, and it is better if a liquid version doesnt have alcohol (alcohol dries up skin and doesnt kill acne causing bacteria in pores) or those OXY Pads i linked before.

Well I am using an SA body wash at the moment. It lathers well, I leave it for a few minutes and wash it off. I've probably been using it three weeks now and if anything I've had a number of small red spots appear, whilst my scars/hyperpigmentation still remains even after applying AHA almost daily for the last 3 months.

Before using SA, I never really had any new spots appear, it was just the existing red marks / scars or whatever.

I'm unsure if to continue using SA or whether to just revert to only using AHA.

How is AHA in sunlight? I'll be going on holiday to Greece in a few months and obviously will be exposed to sun a lot more than England.

Also, what's the best way to deal with new spots? All I get are zits and you can see the white pus underneath, is it best to pop it and get the pus out or just leave it? Thanks.

EDIT - I'm thinking stopping the AHA and SA. Is there any other products without side effects stopping me going in the sun or staining my clothes like BP?
