So ive stopped using BP because it caused me to get extremely dry but ive gotten a lot of breakouts since ive stopped using it.I was wondering if sudocrem would help reduce my breakouts/clear my skin?I know its got a lot of good reviews for redmarks but what about actually healing and preventing?I realize it might not be as good as BP but ive got a derm. appointment anyways so they'll probably give me something when i go there. Thanks in advance
i wouldnt subsitute BP for sudocrem, mainly because sudocrem is greasy and you couldnt only use at night, plus some say it clogs pores ect, though many people love it and use it
i suggest reading Real Mavericks topic on sudocrem ----> http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=131969

Can you not use sudocrem AND BP. If you put on your BP, rub it in, and then slap on sudocrem over the top and rub that in, you shouldn't get any of the redness or dryness associated with BP. You would only be able to do it at night though cos sudocrem leaves your face white. But i love the stuff.
I tried just using sudocrem but it isn't effective on its own for keeping spots away. I have to combine it with BP.
I would think a Sudocrem + BP combination would be better. Besides, looking at the date you started your log, you'd only been on the regimen for less than three weeks, right? Is it possible that you started out using too much BP, increased your BP use too quickly, didn't use enough moisturizer, etc.? Everyone experiences dryness when starting with BP, I know my skin didn't look very good for the first few months just because of this, but it seriously does get better--you just have to be willing to stick with it and be gentle for the time being.
