To this day I cannot believe how your products not only cleared up my skin, but kept my acne under control, something even Accutane could not do (and I took Accutane for several years). I tried every prescription based topical, antibiotics, and several OOC product and nothing worked. I only wish I found your products sooner.

The Niacinamide improved the results drastically. My skin is completely red-free, and even has allowed my to incorporate Tretinoin a couple times a week in addition to the AHA, all while using BP 6 days a week. I'm looking forward to trying the newest version of the moisturizer once my current bottle is empty.

So cool! Do you mean you tried the new Moisturizer already and the Niacinamide helped? Or are you using Niacinamide in another product?

I posted on another topic about having to discontinue Dan's moisturiser due to the niacinamide after 12+ years. Anyway, still using the cleanser and BP. I have switched to Cerave Lotion for dry to very dry skin. Half way through the day I can't take it any longer and have to moisturise again. Is that ok to do without washing my face? I wish I could get back Dan's moisturiser. I'm doing the regimen since 2001 so the dryness is not caused by the BP, it's purely a moisturiser issue. Please help, really struggling with the dryness, can't open my mouth to talk properly or smile. @dan

Yes it should be ok to Moisturize again without washing first. But you could also find a better moisturizer I would think.

Thanks so much for your response Dan, I really appreciate it. Ive been using your moisturiser for years but when I got the new one two weeks ago, I had to discontinue it after 4 days, I cant tolerate niacinamide unfortunately. The only large moisturiser I have been able to find which doesnt have niacinimade is this Cerave one and its just not moisturising enough. Thats why Im applying again mid way through the day but actually feel so dry even at that I would like to reapply several times a day. Any suggestions on an alternative or will your old formula ever come back?

I have my hands full with the current products, so I don't have plans to bring any of the old formulas back. However, you can try adding a few drops of jojoba oil to any moisturizer and that can help.

The Niacinamide in your moisturizer made a significant different on my skin. Ive not yet tried the newest formula that came out a couple months ago, but the second generation vastly improved my skin compared to gen 1 with licorice root.

im really looking forward to the AHA lotion with Niacinamide.

The cleanser and BP are still good for me. The changes are subtle. I haven't tried the new moisturizer yet.

The solution would be to offer different versions of each product but that is going to increase production costs and add too much complexity to The Regimen. So I don't see that happening.

I'm one of those who hated the yellow moisturizer. And the white one. The licochalcone ruined my shirts and towels for nearly two decades. And the texture always felt chalky to me. Then I was starting to have problems with it turning crumbly after it dried on my face. I stopped using it completely.

I bought some toners today that contain niacinamide so I'll soon learn what that does or doesn't do to my skin. Eventually I'll try the new moisturizer since I still haven't found any particular moisturizer that I really like.

Hi everyone,
Ive experienced the same terrible issue with niacinamide.
I also believe theres something going on behind the scenes that the public doesnt knowor isnt supposed to know. Ive been following acne.org for over 15 years, and Ive never seen responses like we have to follow the science / youre free to use other products / I dont understand why youre having these issues.

The approach and communication strategy feel completely different and wrongalmost like were dealing with an entirely different brand.

Important note: I truly loved acne.org. Its products were superior to anything else in the world.
The old yellow moisturizer with licochalcone, after BP and AHA, was an unbeatable combo.

I cant find any valid reason to change treatment products that actually work.
Its like deciding to change insulin for diabeticssomething that literally keeps people alive.
Unless, of course, theres some other reason we dont know about.

I noticed last night another change to the moisturizer: Jojoba seed oil was listed as the 2nd ingredient (after water) in the old formula. In the new formula, jojoba seed oil is now the 8th ingredient. And sunflower seed oil was added as the 4th ingredient. It wasn't in the original formula. This is surprising because, according to this site, jojoba oil is great for skin and acne. I haven't seen anything about sunflower seed oil.

Possibly this change is due to difficulty sourcing jojoba oil and/or jojoba oil becoming more expensive. Acne.org may be non-profit but it's still a business so it's understandable that ingredients may change strictly for business reasons. Prices on the Acne.org products need to remain affordable and competitive. But it's certainly frustrating that the formulas on all the products have changed, and yes, it would be nice to see more information about these changes and the reasoning.
