Hey everyone!

I haven't ever posted posted here before, but I have visited a lot in the past. I'm currently 26 and still have some problems with my skin. The reason I'm just posting now is because I have a strange complication with my skin even if I am clear.

Here is a little bit of information with what I did with my skin. I had used the acne.org 2.5% BP for since I was around 19. I then went on and off of it until around 24 and I haven't used it once for about a year and a half since then. When I was on BP it worked pretty well, but didn't ever completely clear me up and when I would try to ween off of BP I would always end up going back on because it kept me more clear than not. When I finally did go off BP my skin did get a lot worse, but after awhile my skin calmed down. During this whole time (from 19 to 24) BP was the only acne medication I used except for some salicylic acid in a over the counter face soap that I tried at the most of 2 months at a time.

My question now it's been a year and a half and I still have a strange rash (I'm not sure if I should call it a rash) that I get ONLY where I applied the BP the most. The rash is only noticeable when I eat, yawn or do anything that requires my mouth to perform wide stretches. The rash will dissipate after about 10 minutes afterwards. It's like the elasticity is gone from the applied areas of BP after a year and a half of not using the product. Again, I hate to accuse the BP of this. It's just really strange that the two places (sides of the mouth and down the laugh lines) I constantly applied the BP for years straight would be the only problem areas where I get acne and have this elasticity issue.

Has anyone else had a similar issue to this? I have read all about free radicals, collagen, and all sorts of other causes that could correlate to the issue I'm having, but I haven't came across anyone with this type of problem. Any kind of help would be appreciated and thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this!

Hello Donce88,

I'm sorry to hear about the rashes on your skin. It sounds like your skin is dry from using the Benzoyl Peroxide. I would suggest that you moisturize as often as possible to avoid the rashes from appearing every time you apply the Treatment. You may increase the dosage of the Moisturizer or you may use it three times a day instead of twice a day. The Lichocalcone from the Moisturizer calms down redness and it reduces dryness and flakiness. Cheers!

I definitely have had dry skin from BP, but I moisturize now until what feels "good" to my skin which I found is the best.

My question was more so asking how much longer would the BP have an effect on my skin? It's been a year and a half since I've touched BP and where I applied the BP still feels different.

Thanks for the response either way!

:s I never liked BP. I think it's too aggressive for the skin. I've never had what you described happen to me, but I would look into a doc for a professional opinion. I wish I could be of further assistance.

I've been using the regimen for a few months and last week I developed a rash around my mouth! I stopped using the BP in that area, and then all together, but my skin is still red, dry and painful in that area, along with my neck and eyelids
