Saw Palmetto For Oily Skin?

I'm a 17 year old guy and was wandering if Saw Palmetto would help normalize my extremely oily skin? I've barely done any research about this herbal remedy since I first wanted to know if a male teenager would actually benefit from it? Briefly looking at the reviews on here the majority are saying that they're female and general information on other sites about it says that it is most used by more elderly people, so I have no idea if it would help my skin at all and if the pros would out weigh the cons (if any?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

saw palmetto seems to work better for males. theoretically it should help with oil production...when I took it it did help, to the point where my hands were much drier and my skin was less oily.

I was on saw palmetto for six months, and while I think it might have helped a bit, I also experienced some side effects. Huge loss of libido and breath that smelled like death -- neither which went unnoticed by my girlfriend. In the end the cons outweighed the pros and I decided to ditch it.

Thanks for the replies people!! and sorry for the really late reply hahah

The antibiotics I am currently on are definitely wearing off now so I'm reconsidering Saw Palmetto, would this supplement be good to take even if I am only 17? Since I'm still experiencing hormonal changes and all would this mess with my development in any way? My acne and oily skin is messing me up mentally anyway so I'd just like to know if there are any side effects and if they might outweigh the pros? :P
