Can Lack Of Sleep Make Your Skin More Oily?

I've only gotten 7 hours of sleep in the last 2 nights and my skin seems much more oily. Could it be related?

This happens to me too..I cant specifically say oily but I look dull within a few nights of inadequate sleep and my sebum production increases that I will be more oily by EOD.

9 hrs helps best in healing though.

but 7-8 hrs is not bad.

I guess I should have clarified that a little better. I meant I got 7 hours of sleep total the last 2 nights. So 3 hours one night and 4 the next.

7-8 of quality sleep at the right time of night should be enough for most people.

But yes, it affects hormone production and release, how you cope with stress, metabolize carbs, etc.

Thanks for the response. I actually meant 7 hours total in 2 nights. So 3 hours one night and 4 the next.

okay.thanks for clarifying.no 3-4 hrs of sleep is not enough.

it indirectly controls sebum production like vista said.

I can say for sure if lack of sleep makes your skin oily, but one thing is for sure that lack of sleep does take a toll on your health, which can then reflect on your skin. Which is why, you need at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
