check this post on 'white stuff' we tend to think is 'poison'!

http://ginews.blogspot.in/2013/06/whats-new.html

rice bran oil http://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/330597-rice-bran-oilgood-or-bad/

sunflower oil

I don't know who thinks potatoes are poison. They are nearly empty calories and the way most people prepare and eat them, they are junk.

And that is a stupid article. If the autor is concerned about blood presseure, they should recommend foods that are much better sources of potassium while also being good sources of other important nutrients like beans, greens, and squashes. And then the relegate other white vegetables that are good for you to one sentence: cauliflower, onions, garlic, mushrooms, etc.

Well health conscious people these days abhor potatoes...But i think they are good energy foods provided you consume them judiciously. On good days when the sun is shining and my dad is in a good mood,he'll bake me a nice potato :) Love it.

i dnt agree with everything that the article said but i also dont agree with those who 'completely quit' having white potatoes of any kind and yes,i know many people online (here or running other health blogs) who consider 'potatoes = poison'.

i was surprised he stated many consider 'all stuff bad' .so i did a quick search here and damn!he's right there are posts here where 'some' stated 'everything white is bad'.

how silly!

of course we know cabbage, cauliflower , mushrooms are good.

potatoes are high calorie content food and also, the way most eat them is bad.

but there are good ways and smart ways of using small (healthy) amount of potato in dishes that would add lil' calorie, good potassium, water content and loads of taste to the dish.

potatoes are bad for people with hugh sugar level but otherwise completely restricting it in even healthy mode of preparation , is not a must IMO.

zinc would do u good.

it helps acne.

but thats more important if zinc deficiency is what has effected ur acne in the 1st place.

it is often noted that acne sufferers have lower zinc level.

as for cod liver oil,i've heard its good for over all health.

why do u wanna add it?

cant u just have food that has same benefits?

Yes i'd rather have equivalent foods than take cod liver oil.But i'm not able to take good food when i'm in my college away from my house. So i have to rely solely on artificial supplements sad.png

would like to hear your take on these articles? (external link to an article showing how it is not all bad!)

also, check this allergy avoidance diet article. (note : it's not my opinion but it does state many aspects better than many sites) http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=diet&dbid=7

BLACK CHICKPEAS/ WHOLE BLACK GRAM and/or USE GARBANZO BEANS :

http://whfoods.org/genpage.php?dbid=58&tname=foodspice

http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/legumes-and-legume-products/4326/2

the black chickpeas are smaller but more nutritious than the bigger white chickpeas(garbanzo beans).

preparation : http://tablespooning.com/2011/09/dry-roasted-chana-chickpeas/

NOTE : the traditional method is different and not done in an oven but on sand.that is infact the method used when getting the store packet ones - which btw are crunchier and tastier.
