Why do some people just not get acne no matter what?

lets see, I have got diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attacks, dementia, schizophrenia, and one-other-thing-i-cant-remember in my genes.

Well, then you better be eating, sleeping and exercising right. Your genes only count for about 30% of your likelihood of contracting a condition and most of those are related conditions of lifestyle. Keeping your blood sugar under control is step one as diabetes leads to the heart disease related issues.

And bonus, the same diet and lifestyle habits that improve glucose metabolism also improve acne and other hormone issues.

Because they are genetically superior to us. I swear I will not have kids unless I adopt. My DNA is just a pile of $hit.

AMEN! My dad had really bad acne and all his brothers and sisters so that tells me it is genetic. Me and my brother both have had to deal with acne and now are getting to our 40s. This was one of the reasons I decided to never have children. I don't want to pass on the shitty genes. My brother agreed so our bloodline ends with us! I would rather adopt than have a kid to deal with what I've had to.

My brother NEVER gets acne and i was the unlucky one to get it. So yeah i agree its MAINLY due to your genetics. On the other hand i have my pros that i have over my brother so i guess you also got to see the benefits of your genes and accept the faulty ones.

I pretty much had the worst diet ever and never broke out until age 30. I'm talking fast food multiple times a day, Starbucks latte and pastry nearly every morning, candy bars and beer nearly every night. It finally caught up with me... I think some people arena naturally more sensative to breaking out, but diets like this will eventually get people in trouble, so I've learned.

What's funny is that I didn't really break out until I had tons of stress, work travel, and started washing my face with hand and dish soap... I guess it was just too much!

Some people just have the skin characteristics predisposed to forming acne. Like skin that doesnt shed properly, or overactive oil glands, or a hypersensitivity to the p.acne bacteria, inflammatory problems, immune system problems or whatever...Usually having only one of these things isnt a big problem, maybe mild acne at worst, its when you have all the bad skin characteristics and they all work together in unity to destroy your face.

Some people just dont have these skin characteristics so they can live life however they want yet have the most beautiful skin that doesnt need any care whatsoever.

My housemate is a great example, she eats tons of junkfood, takeaways all the time, smokes, drinks pretty much every day, occasionally uses various drugs, does literally zero excercise. But she has the most beautiful skin Ive ever seen, Ive never seen her with a spot. She wears a ton of makeup even though she really doesnt need it.

She is unhealthy as fuck but because her skin is not predisposed to acne she gets away with clear skin, although health problems will probably manifest themselves in more serious ways for her.

When I was 15 to 18, I was eating whatever I wanted, smoking a lot, doing a lot of drugs (amphetamines and stuff), when I eated most of the time it was McDonalds or dairy. My acne appeared when I stopped doing all that stuff. If I had continued the acne would have appeared one day or another and it would've been worst. Those people will probably get acne in their lives or a much more severe issues. We're lucky to get acne in a way if it makes us realize you need to take care of your body

Here's my take on this subject (experience has its merits):

I have 4 other brothers one older, my twin, and 2 younger along with 7 sisters. I started having sex when 12 (hadn't stopped since, nearly 70 now) never had a single pimple/zit in my life. One of my sisters didn't have any either, so I asked are you having sex ? turned out she was at an early age (secretly). The rest of our siblings were like rocky road faces (poor things) some grew out of it after puberty some still at it and hating it. Can't help but wonder if early sexing has something to do with it and not just the diets, as to why it only appears in adolescences ? Hormonal changes for sure in both males and females. Just saying..

Some people can't drinkmilk, others are allergic to eggs. My dad has a severereaction to avocados. My wife needs an epipen for a bee sting. Some people don't get acne but put on weight very easily when they have a bad diet. Other develop diabetes.Everybody's body is different.

I used to have a horrible dietand never gain a pound, but I would break out bad. Every derm I went do as a kid would put me on a different drug for it, never addressing the root problem. ALLsaid food had absolutely nothing to do with acne. These people get kick backs to push drugs from their reps, so keep that in mind.

When I turned 40 I had enough. I was tired of breaking out and just feeling altogether terrible physicially.Istarted doing a lot of reading and listening to podcasts on proper nutrition. Myformula is very simple that ifollow. No fast food, only water, very low sugar (bread is instantly converted to sugar). Just eat real food.

After 2 days of eating good my skin stopped breaking out. Also in the last 5 years I have been sick twice. I don't get headaches or stomachaches any more at all. Garbage in garbage out!

Acne is not common among most adults. It exists but that's doesn't mean it's common. If it was a diet associated disease I believe it would be more common. I don't think we know even what causes acne. There may be quite a few theories but food is not a strong one from reasons I mentioned.

I think it also runs in the blood? Not really sure but with what I witnessed with my relatives, 3 siblings had acne during their teenage years. Even their parents had it during their younger years. Good thing, there are good dermatologists out there.

Sometimes I have to be grateful for my acne, because if I pack my diet full of antioxidants and cut out sugar and coffee it clears up. That means I'm motivated to keep pumping my body full of nutrition, whilst people drinking Pepsi and eating processed meats are poisoning theirs!

This is an extremely smart point

Acne can show us a lot about ideal ways to eat

Plenty of beef, no grains
