Hmm, this might help:

Dietary Sources of N-acetylneuraminic acid or sialic acid:
Whey protein isolate
Hensa egg
OK, i get what you are saying so far. Of course it's still very speculative ....
But maybe we should make a list of lectins-binding food combinations. And eat them too but ONLY with their combinations and see the results. Who knows, maybe we could still eat wheat, rice etc., but only with an appropriate 'lectin-binder'. Would be awesome and very worth a try!
Like you said Chips and Salsa etc (although chips are not only corn...).

There's charts in the lectin thread to get started. And there have been quite a few combinations suggested, but now they are scattered throughout 3 threads.

Sialic acid seems to be concentrated in high cholesterol containing foods. Anyways, egg yolk is pretty commonly used in bread recipes, ain't it? Some instructions specifically tell you to seperate the white from the yolk, too. Hmm, the lectin in egg is in the white...
EDIT: Here, found this on the Weston A Price foundation:
http://www.westonaprice.org/Sourdough-Egg-Noodles.html
The ingredients are sourdough, egg yolks, whey, and salt. The author talks about how sourdough effectively is tolerated in some celiacs, but she misses the point about the eggs and whey (as we all have). WAP is on the ball more than anyone, though.
Rich breads like brioche have eggs, but most breads, like our sandwhich breads, don't.
Explains why there's an epidemic in diabetes and IBS (55% in Mexico, seriously) in latin american countries.
Well, the people are also genetically adapted to survive famine, so today's diets affect them more. Same with African Americans who also have a very high rate of diabetes.
question, do u think that it would be needed to take vitamins along with the enzymes, as many of them need a cofactor such as vitamins to work?
has anyone noticed any breakouts from taking digestive enzymes?
do you think that your body will stop producing its own enzymes if it is being supplemented?
I just started taking them today, and am concerned that my body will see that it has a surplus of enzymes and stop producing them itself.
i just started taking L plantarum today to try to restore my gut flora correctly. i think it will work because wiki says it makes a antibiotic that is significantly inhibitory upon both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. it sounds like a natural antibiotic.
no wash raises an interesting question about probiotic pills which is have been wondering for a very long time. how on earth do the bacteria stay alive in those pills??? there is no oxygen going in and there is no source of food! or a way for them to remove their biological wastes. it is quite strange. i hope that the probiotic drink i am using is better.
