laxer go ahead and start taking niacin. and i would also start with chromium, a lot of body builders use it as a supplement to improve BMI and achieve better muscle gains, plus both of them together will keep your glucose levels low enough to start burning fat.

Chromium is a potent weight loss supplement. You sure he should be taking that? And besides, I haven't see any overwhelming evidence in this forum that Niacin users have benefited from taking Chromium.

ok...how many grams of zinc?

and any brand of zinc or chromium in particular?

also, this is all safe to take with vitamin c right?

It's actually better to take zinc and vitamin C separately. Zinc is synergistic with chromium so that is a good combo. Take those two together, but take vitamin C separately as it's known to antagonize zinc.

Does niacin cause breakouts when you first start taking it?

Does niacin cause breakouts when you first start taking it?

No. Breakouts stop, existing pimples and bumps start fading away and skin feels normal.

After about a week it might lose it's power...

so, im on day 5 of inositol hexanicotinate 500mg/day. The first thing i noticed was on day 2 where i could clearly see that my pores were smaller and my skin tone had evened out. I had two average size pimples coming in on my cheek when i started taking niacin, both of them are almost invisible now. Ive also been taking a few other vitamins for the past 3 or 4 months that are probably working along with the niacin, including chromium. ive gotten maybe 4 or 5 small whiteheads since i started, a couple of them may have been razor bumps, but im really satisfied with the results.

Clearest my skins been since it was clear. Purpose wash, C&C BP, 500mg flush niacin, b-complex. May add chromium...zinc is rubbish it gives me terrible stomach aches unless i eat a huge meal with it. Only about a week in so it may fizzle and die. We shall seeeeeee

Been on Flush for about 2 weeks, then niacinamide for 2 weeks alternating with the flush until I ran out of flush, then niacinamide for not even a week, and now hex inositol for about 2.5 weeks, and yes the results have been amazing.

It has been almost 8 weeks, and my skin looks great, but not flawless. I still get bumps, but nothing too drastic. Picking also influences how it looks so, obviously, don't pick.

Edit, I also want to add that I've been taking 500mg of inositol (250mg) and choline (250mg)/day along with the IHN, and felt most of my improvement could be attributed to that, but I am not certain. I also take a B-complex more often to balance out the ratios and for B-12, since I turned vegetarian a week ago so maybe that is helping. I'll post a picture of my skin now tomorrow. I have an old picture with bad acne in my profile, though it's tough to see.

IMPORTANT question...

lets say i take the non-flush and it works well for about a week...but then stops. Would it get better if I stop taking the non flush and then begin taking the flush kind? will that help at all?

iam on niacin with flush 100mg for over a month now

i started with 100mg for a week and every next week higher the dose with 100mg more

but i hardly felt the flush that month and was still breaking out

i was gonna give it up, i still used BP and did not see real good results

my bottle was empty and tought i would just quit sinch i don't got any results

but i just wanted to try again so bought another one the same i had before

now i only use 200mg a day and finally feel the flush my whole face turns red sometimes

but it feels real good i gotta say. i had 3 little spots in 2 weeks

but no real break-out so iam really glad. my red marks are fading

i can shave without breaking-out. i wash my face once a day. i quited BP for a week now

and my face isn't really oily anymore and looks good real overall

so just wanted to share my experience. altough i thought it would not work for me

the first month. it works really good now

My b complex has 50 mg of niacin in it. would taking 10 pills give the same effect as taking 500mg of niain?

I wouldn't take 10 B-complexes in one day. There are many other B vitamins besides Niacin and sometimes even other added things (mine has Vitamin C) in a B-complex, already in really high doses (Like 300-1000% of the daily value). Just get niacin if you want to start taking a higher dosage.

This would actually be an extremely bad idea. Why?

Because you would be getting extremely high levels of other vitamins as well as the niacin, some of which can have very negative effects. I would suggest just buying regular niacin.

Has anyone noticed any benefits other than skin improvements? Like better mental health, elimination of bad breath or lower blood pressure? This stuff sounds a little too good to be true.

I know Niacin has been used for lowering cholesterol for a long time. I didn't know about the bad breath part, haha! It seemed to help my insomnia.

Hey yall, you probably don't remember me. You can see some of my posts on the first few pages of this thread. Anyways, i started taking non-flush niacin about a month and a half ago. I am still clear, and I havn't washed my face at all for about 2 months. My facial redness has decreased dramatically, my skin texture is back to almost how it used to be, and I can litterally feel that my skin is tougher now. Just figured i would update you guys, this might be the last time because i really don't need to go on this website anymore...

P.S. Use the non-flush kind. Hexoncinate or whatever..thats what I'm using. Also, if you start to see results from the niacin, try not washing your face for a few days and if you don't break out try to completely abstain from washing your face. Your skin will thank you.
