Iv just started a B5 regime to help with skin oil, iv noticed on the ingredients that im taking a huge amount of D-calcium Pantothenate 10g a day (10,000mg). I already take a calcium supplement seperately that givves me 800mg.
And what iv read online is that 2500mg is the peak for safely consuming calcium.
Advice anyone plz????

I posted the link earlier in this thread wchich says that it's 8% Calcium in Calcium Panthotenate. Do the math and you will find out that it doesn't exceed the daily intake recommended. However, drop the calcium supplement while using B5.

I've been using B5 for 5 months now. I've been taking 20 pills/10g a day all the time (exept from some days when I didn't have enough or any at all)..
Im 98% clean now and I've never been feeling greater. I started taking 18 pills/9g a day for about 9 days ago and Im going to keep taking 9g for one more week or so..
The only side effects I've had is dey lips and some stomach trouble once a while..
Im taking b-vitamins together with the b5.
Since im only 15 years old I don't know too much about b5...
Has anyone trapped down from 10g to 5g a day with good results?

Hi all. I am still trying to get an answer to this problem. I feel a lot like what I have seen others on this forum say when they say that "you only seem to get 1 shot with b5, then that's it."
I have been using a powder formula from b5clearskin for many months now, and the last month or so it has not been working as well anymore. Does anyone know what to do so solve this?
I have tried some b5 products from other internet brands, mainly pill forms, but those have not seemed to work nearly as well as the powder used to for me.
Someone who has had this type of problem please give me some advice! I had my acne knocked out finally for almost a year with b5, and now I seem to be losing my hold on it again.
Hey everyone! I came across this post and the results sound promising. It is my one year anniversary of taking b5 supplements and I am very happy with the results.
I started taking 6 g b5 per day for 6 weeks and then decreased down to 2 g p/d. After 6 months I decreased to 1 g p/d for 4 weeks. My skin stopped improving during this period so I increased back up to 2 g p/d for the remainder of the year.
After taking b5 for 3 months, my back was completely clear - something I've never been able to say. Now my face is about 98% clear with just some faint red marks along the jawline. (The jawline seems to be a tough place to clear.)
My theory for why b5 works for some of us is that we are not absorbing b5 properly which causes fats (cholesterol ?) to be deposited under the skin. The fats are trapped there causing acne. I also have an intolerance of wheat (gluten) so wonder if there is a connection there.

on thursday, it'll be 5 weeks on b5, 20 pills a day, yadda yadda yadda. the trouble is, i'm not really seeing the improvement i was hoping for. my skin is definately less oily, and i definately had the initial breakout but i'm still breaking out now. my skin feels a little better, but it definately doesn't look any better.
i'm going to give this 8 weeks, and if i don't see an improvement by then, i think i should quit and try something else.
i wish my acne would just piss off!!!

I saw no improvement my first month, some in my second, and the most in my third. I strongly encourage you to stick it out the whole 3 months.

I agree with MarsBar. I'd give it 3 months and then decide whether you want to continue or not. If the number of pills you are taking is bothersome, buy the 1,000 mg pills instead of 500 mg. That will cut the number down by half.

Hi,I'm new to this site. I'm 55 years old and have had extremely oily skin all my life. I've been taking B5 for over a month and have not noticed a change in the oiliness of my skin. I'm taking it as recommended on this site. Any ideas anyone?

The oil reduction doesn't work for everyone, but it depends on which b5 type you use. I've read much about Vilantae on this forum, and that it is good to oily skin

I've been taking 10g a day for almost 6 months now (tried with 8g a day, but I think my acne came back)
Nowdays im really worried about that my b5 time can be over soon because I've read that many looses the b5 effect after 1 year or so.. Is this true? Or is it just for someone? Anyone here thats been using b5 for over 1 year?
OK people, bit of a situation. im going on holiday to spain next week, and dnt really want to have to take the b5 all the time. im taking 10g at the mo a day. i do 4 pills 5 times a day. i been on for 5 weeks now and noticed improvement, also on tetralysal. The thing is i don't wanna look like a smuggler through the airport with the amount of pills that i have to take, cuz im going for 3 weeks Lol. a way round it was say taking down to 8g and having like 5 in morning 5 evening and 5 night?? What u rekon the airport be like. im just wary of them saying ur smuggling sum shit.

From what I've heard Spain is supposed to be very hard when it comes to b5 and letting it into the country. I were on holiday in Spain in March this year. I went for 1 week and I took 10g a dat just as you. I was also affraid of being looked at like a smuggler If i got "caught". It went allright tho. I packed the pills in a small plastic-bag and put it inside some shoes in my briefcase.
I don't know if you should go down to 8g or not, but since your so early in the b5 prossess I would have taken 10g a day. But 8g should work fine I guess..

I tried Accutane a few years ago and it worked very well. But ever since I stopped, the acnes are coming out again. My face is very oily.
After reading this thread, I decide to try B-5 in powder form. Do you know if they are available in Hong Kong? And which online store ships overseas/international? and Does GNC carry it?
