Hi Andy87. Great to hear about your good results, but to be honest I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. 5 days is nothing and the changes you are experiencing might not even come from vitamin B5.
I have been on B5 for nearly four months now and I'm currently at a dose of 7 grams per day. But I had a pretty bad intital breakout for the 1-2 first weeks and it wasn't until about 6 weeks into the treatment that I noticed that I rarely ever got any new spots.
All I'm saying is that you should pace yourself for an initial breakout and give B5 time to work.
Howz It goin people. I think this will be my first post on this site, and have been a member for a while.
Now what i've got to say on this matter:
I have had acne now for about 2 years, and started when i was 19. I am now 21 and my life has never been the same since it started. I got depressed and think that a big factor of my acne is stress. After about 2 months of it starting i went to the docs and was prescribed Benzoyl Peroxide this had no affect apart from redness. To cut a story short i was prescibed Tetralysal 300. This started taking effect after 3 months and i was so happy when i noticed it clearing. but it never fully went and i always would say i have acne. it then stopped working and was switched to erythromycin which done nothing, then back to tetralysal *(sorry to go keep blabbing)* which took me back to the state where i was before.
Now, i have been reading for about 3 days on Pantothenic Acid (Vit B5) and decided i'll give it a go. What is there to lose. Im now on my 5th day, and i cant believe the results. My skin is clearing amazingly. I have scabs and crap from the old acne and a few spots still there, but my skin has like no excess oil at all and i think if i continue will actually clear totally.
Mine cost me like A4 for 100 tabs at 500mg.
I take 10g a day 5 pills 4 times a day and took 10g from day 1, even tough some people recommend you not too. I suggest that maybe 6 grams a day for 2 or 3 days, then 10grams. The only problem with 10grams from the start which i noticed was gas and lots of toilet visits.
For people saying they'd rather have acne than take all these pills, then you seriously need to sort ur sh*t out. I mean come on.
The only side effects i've had so far are excessive gas, but that has seemed to stop today. There are different views from everyone on how long you should take it before dropping down in dose, so im gonna try dropping from 10grams to 8grams after 2 months, then after down to 6 and so on. That way still im taking it 4 times a day but just taking one pill less each dosage.
Sorry to go on or whatever, but you must understand that this is the first thing which shows to be hope. and who helped me find it, the doctors, noooooo. Dermatologist, nooooo
But my fellow acne internet peeps. All this from a f*ck*ng Vitamin. Amazing
Give it a go, and stop worrying too much about it. I mean if your not going to try it then why are you reading this entire discussion on it.
Thanks For reading(if u cud be arsed)
This is the site i get mine from
Its really good site. Theres one about 10 miles from me, but they sell it online at a highly discounted rate compared to the shop. The B complex i get are like A3 i think.
Peace Out x

You should be taking a b-complex to ensure the high dosage of B5 does not cause deficiency of the other b vitamins.
The general rule for b5 most people have been following is 5 grams the first 3 days then 10 grams for three months, before reducing dosage. Some people see results within the first few days, for others it takes the full 3 months.
As well, some people have had success with B5 for a number of years, others say it works for about 1-1.5 years.
Just a warning for you B5ers....I have been on B5 for like two years.... and It has been wreaking havoc on my stomach even though I am only taking 1g a day. I take my b5 with dinner, but I notice if I take it too long after I eat my stomach BURNS like crazy in the morning... I cant imagine what my stomach would feel like if I were taking more. Just be careful guys.
I have a question... I heard that B5 stops working for some people after like a year. Well im afraid ive run into this. Ive heard that people stop the b5 supplementation for a while and start again to see results once more?
Does anyone have more information on this? Such as how long i should stop for etc...
Anything would be greatly appriciated.. Thanks

Ermm maybe i spoke a bit too soon. I seem to be having quite a few lil erruptions. It was clearing up into 3rd day, now this. How long before it subsides you rekon ? im on day 7 now
Well its been 1 week and 4 days since i started taking 10grams of b5 a day, i was three days into it and i come on here saying it was working, then it got worse for 2-3 days. I thought oh crap, but now since wednesday, so 3 days, its been sorting itself out. Less oily skin, like only 1 or none new pimples a day and my skin is starting to look like what it did before i had acne. Fuck yer. Woo. Bless the B5. Now i did wait it out for a lil before posting as to not jinx it. but it only seems to be getting better, after the short breakout period.
Thanks to white fox.

Hi everyone. I am new here but have some specific questions, so I will get right to the point.
There are two b5 products I am discussing. First of all is vitacure's b5clearskin from [Removed]. About 10 months or so ago, I started using the powder formula of their b5 and within only 2 or 3 days I could notice a difference. My skin was less oily and less acne was forming. It didn't take long before it started to work REALLY WELL, it got rid of acne that I had and kept away new acne.
Over the months until just recently I have still been taking it, but here is the strange part, every so often (usually as I am getting through a 1 month bottle to the last week or so in it.) It seems to slowly start losing effectiveness. I find this quite odd, and I would usually order another batch and it would almost always start working really well really fast again.
Because of this strange matter though, I have not had a good opportunity to reduce the dose from 10 grams a day, which is what is instructed to use it at for 3 months or so. Even so, I have been taking a b-complex almost daily, and have seen very little side effects over these months. The only real problem is getting the results to stay consistent for a good period of time, and I have not been able to figure out why this always happens.
Next is [Removed. I have just started trying their time-released capsules for a day or so now, and after only about 1 day I have had a few pimples come up suddenly, and in places on my face that I haven't had any in quite some time. I am trying to decide if I should stick with the skinb5 for a while longer and see if it gets better, or go back to the b5clearskin. The skinb5 product sounds "superior" because of the time-release formula and more ingredients contained in it, but it is also more expensive and ships slower. If it will just work and keep working however, I will not mind the cost and stay with it though!
Has anyone else used either of these, and if so, what has your experience with them been? I would love to be able to get a good idea about what to do next at this point! Let me know anything you can.
Hi All
Iv just started a B5 regime to help with skin oil, iv noticed on the ingredients that im taking a huge amount of D-calcium Pantothenate 10g a day (10,000mg). I already take a calcium supplement seperately that givves me 800mg.
And what iv read online is that 2500mg is the peak for safely consuming calcium.
Advice anyone plz????
Im concerned about this. Anyone know more about b5?????
