Hey, I just started taking vitamin b5 a few days ago. I have been taking 5grams a day (like it said too) and was planning on switching to 10grams a days after the 4th or 5th day. Unfortunately, my face has been peeling bad. I stopped using the acne cleanser that I was using and tried to just do the "soak your face" thing for a couple days to try and stop the peeling as well as putting on a pound of mositurizer. It is still peeling a little, but I have a feeling that most of my dryness is caused by the b5. Should I stay on the 5grams a day until my skin gets used to the amount I am taking and wait on taking 10 grams? Will the b5 still help my acne if I don't use all 10 grams a day? Please help.

I do the dip reminine along with this morning and night and I take 10gs a day, I use no face wash, just hto water and epsom salt. Elfoliate your skin with espom salt too.

The first few days on B5 (started just taking 10gs a day instead of 5) my face goot a little peely but I applied a LITTLE moisteriser to my face (mornings only) and its pretty much gone now with a lot less oil production on my face.

I have been taking 5g of Vitamin B5 a day for about 2 weeks now and I have noticed that my hair feels more dryer and when I shower more hair comes off in my hands than normal. I've read this is because my body is producing less oil, thus the hairs will shrimp in width causing them to fall out. I did a bit of research on the forum and discovered that people recommended to take a B-50 vitamin complex with my usual dose of B5 to counter the effects of drying the hair out.

I have now been taking the B-50 vitamin complex (1 tablet in the morning and evening) for 2 days, how long will it be before this can help to balance me back out again please?

Thank you.

The best website and the best value to buy the b5 powder or the b5 pills is this Ebay store.

http://stores.ebay.com/superiornutraceuticals

The powder is $26.99 and lasts you longer than any powder out there. The powder has 400 servings and each serving is 2500mg. The pills costs $39.99 for a 550 count and each capsule contains 950 mg.

Note: I do not work for them. I am just a customer of theirs.

ok im on month 6 of b5...

started out at 5g a day for 4 days then 10g for the next 5 months...

about 2 1/2 months in i was clear hear and there so much better then when i started though. i would get mybe 1-2 zits every 7 days.

but they wernt really zits they were regular size cyst or mini ones that took about 3 days to come to a head.

really sucks.

but i was fed up with taking so much damn b5. 20 pills a day.

5 at a time 4 times a day.

so 3 weeks ago i dropped down to 5 in the morning and 5 at night.

2 days ago i broke out bad! 3 cyst and 1 pimple all in the same day.

im so scared im gunna break out like crazy now.

because i geuss it takes 2 weeks for the pills to work?...

so im thinking of taking 12g a day?...should i?

i heard some people not getting totally clear with 10 g. and getting there with 12g.

not sure though

anyone have the same problem?

Hi there,

I am currently on my 5th month on b5, I can say that I am 95% clear. I also get zits, here and there not big and they don't last a lot like before.I have a few redmarks but they say that those go away in six months so am still waiting on that. I have been taking 20 pills a day and the last couple of days I have been on 16 pills. i really want to reduce my intake like most people here say, but am so scared that I might break out again. I am praying that that doesn't happen. brad0707 just increase you amount, that is what I read. until you find the best amount of pills that keeps you clear ... best of luckkkkk

Eve~

To all,

I have alot of acne and inflammation and have just ordered Vilantae (Vitamin B5).

I dont have a problem with skin oil as I'm currently very dry anyways.. would it be a bad idea to take Vilantae?

Cheers to all for understanding

Ok, I'm no scientist but it seems utterly ridiculous and unhealthy to be taking ultra high doses of b5 for months at a time. I can understand a high dose at first as a loading phase sort of thing, but being on 10 grams+ for 3 months or more sounds like the dumbest thing you can do. If you spend 2 seconds researching, you'll find that taking 1 of the b vitamins way out of proportion to the other b vitamins is just a cause for b deficiency. Even if you are taking a b complex, unless you are taking like 10 of those too. The super high doses of calcium must be lovely for your liver and kidneys as well. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but accutane has to be healthier than this bs. I didn't read the whole blog, but as I skimmed through the pages, alot of the posts looked like fake users from a vitamin shop company pushing their product. Use your head guys, if you think doing 10+ grams of b5 for more than a few weeks/months you should see a shrink. There is no way your body can absorb nearly all that b5. Even at high doses, its still a micro nutrient, not a macro nutrient like a sugar, water, fat or carbohydrate. Hey, if its working for you, than congratulations. Long term use of maybe a few grams tops in conjunction with b complex may be reasonable, but some of you guys will just believe anything you read on the internet. Come on now. I know people who are aids and chemotherapy who take fewer pills, and those guys take tons of medication. If you look into the study that was done on it, it wasn't even double-blinded! It was probably some biased to begin with. I hope some of you guys need a kid telling you this, do you?

Btw, just because its "water-soluble" doesn't mean its safe. God knows what that crap is doing to your intestines, liver, kidney and metabolism over all.

Thats just my 2 cents anyway.

The number of pills doesn't really matter. All what counts is the daily dose.

Even using 4 gr per day for a long period, might be a health risk.

B5 works only for those, which acne is a direct consequence of too oily skin, which is probably a very very tiny percentage. I was also taking B5; the effect was loosing a lot of weight (like you are saying) and a dried out skin + the acne didn't really go away. I strongly suggest you throw away all (or at least most) of the pills you are taking and try the paleo diet with as little cooking as possible.
