I take 300 mg of Pantethine, 3 times a day, so 900mg total. It works the same as megadosing on B5. And it's safer, you don't have to take so many B5 pills. I heard that you can get calcium buildup in your kidney if you take B5 megadose for a long time. It's dangerous. A person had to get a painful kidney stone removed because of the calcium buildup from megadosing on B5.
Pantethine is safer and works the same. It is the active ingredient in Vitamin B5.
Are you clear and how long did it take for you to see results with Pantethine. 900mg sounds so much easier than 10,000mg!! Did you use b5 before. Thanks!
has anyone noticed their poop and pee is sometimes a weird greenish color, especially their poop. If anyone else has experienced the same thing, or knows why im getting it plz post here. Anyways ive been been using B5 for 4 days now and to be honest, i thinks its actually freaking working, i have ni pimples on my chin whatsoever, which is the main hotspot for acne on my face. And i feel alot less greasy and oily during the day.

after reading all the posts twice I decided to give b5 a try. I used acne miracle`s b5 complete for a month, got no results. I noticed their product gives you only 1 gram of b5 a day. So I started using b5 tablets along with a b-100 complex. I took 2 grams for a week, no oil reduction then went up to 3 grams and I got very little oil reduction. I`ve been on 3 grams a day for a few days now but the thing is I dont know if oil reduction is caused by bp which I recenty started to use or if it`s caused by b5. I want to check out low doses before I start popping 20 pills a day and not knowing what the long term effects are. I heard panthotic acis works best when taken with penthetine.I wish there was more reserch on this b5 thing. I`m thinking of increasing my dose every week to see at what level I`ll have dry skin. in one of the posts I remember reading somethig like the pills you take today will show their effects two weeks later. Should I go up 1 gram a week or 2 grams every two weeks? I don`t know what to do. B5 pros I need your help.
I`m 34, had acne since 11. I have very oily skin. I tried every single acne treatment available on this planet. My acne is caused by oil. Tanning helps a little but doesn`t solve the problem. I have acne on my face ,back and upper arms.
I want to especially hear from people who started at low doses and went up slowly. I know everyone`s body is different but want to know how others worked their dose up.
b5 even at 1 gram gives me a growling stomach, a deep down hunger that`s even deeper when meal time approaches and it feels like I have less energy and get tired easly since I started using it.
By the way don`t buy anything from acne miracle. It took them a month to ship my order,they don`t answer e-mails, no phone number for contact and now their web site is shut down and I`m struggling to get my money back.

Yes it absolutely cleared up the acne on my face. The acne on my face wasn't nearly as severe as what I had on my back but it was the first thing that cleared for me.
I take 12 grams a day right now, in 2 pill increments. When I eat breakfast I will pop 2 before I eat, 2 after I eat and then 2 more like 10 minutes later. I do this 4 times (which works out to 24 5oomg b5 pills a day) In another 12 days or so I will be at month number 5 and I will update my pics. Its been a long process, but I am glad I stuck with it.
12g vit B5 a day!!! WOW...that is a lot.

I have a multivitamin, which has only 0.9g per capsule per day.

I have had virturally no side effects since I have been on B5. I believe I had minor diarrhoea a couple of times but it wasn't a huge deal for me. I go to the gym about 5 days a week and it has not hurt my performance there, no achy joints or anything. I will say this though, I have lost about 5 pounds or so since I started b5 and yet I eat like crazy and work out a lot. It may cause you to lose weight I don't know.
I also worked my way up to 12 grams. I started out at 3 grams for 3 days, then 5 grams for 4 more days. After that I was taking 10 grams for a couple months. At 3 months in I wasn't as clear as I wanted and I kicked it up to 12 grams and I have been on that ever since. I started out taking a multi-vit, a b50 complex, zinc, and biotin but now I don't take any of those. Honestly my results have been better without them though it could be a coincidence because of the time I was on B5.

i think whenever you take vitamins your pee kind of takes on this weird bright color, maybe because of all extra things you are putting in, and your body eliminating what it doesn't get a chance to absorb.
the poop thing, basically when your poop is green it doesn't usually mean anything is wrong with you. the green color is your bile and bodily fluids. the longer your poop stays in your body, it turns darker and browner. but if your body is expelling waste more quickly it just means that your poop is "fresher" i guess, if thats the right way to describe it, and the bile just hasn't gotten old and brown yet.... and basically, from my understanding, b5, especially in these high doses, really speeds up your metabolism, so it makes sense that your getting rid of waste faster and its not having time to get old and dark....lol... wow... i hope that made sense.
and with that said..... i'd like to add "poop" is such a funny word.
ANYWAY. i also have some questions of my own about B5.... i started taking it yesterday because from the way its decribed, it seems to me a bit like accutane without so many awful side effects, and i know that for me personally, healing my acne internally is a lot faster and more effective than external treatments, which rarely work.... for example, accutane cleared most of my acne 5 years ago, but i still have some spots and clusters of small pimples and baddly clogged pores, but i've been hesitant about doing a second course of accutane because of how bad my side effects were when i took it. now, since my acne isn't anywhere near awful, and because i already have a lot of stomach issues and don't want to aggravate them, i think i'm going to stick to a lower dosage (of the B5), like 3g, which is what i had yesterday, and then once i adjust maybe up it to 5g... but i dont thin im going to go higher than that... it says on the main page that 10g is needed for the "best" results, but is that based on people who have severe acne? can i still get results from a lower dosage, even if they're not fast incredible results? like i said, i only need to have a few blemishes wiped out and some oil dryed up...
also, and this is kind of just random, but i was wondering.... if B5 makes you hungry, because its speeding up your metabolism, does that mean that if you could control your hunger pains and eat less/healthier, and work out while being on the B5, that it could help you lose weight? just wondering because honestly with so much crap on tv and the internet i dont understand the science of weight loss.

I've been battling Acne for a long time, since my early twenties, and now, 5 years later I still suffer from Acne. During this time I've had chance to experiment a lot with different vitamins and minerals.
I can say without a doubt that it's NOT a coincidence that when you stopped taking the multi vitamin you saw better results. It's my theory that B5 actually works by causing a Biotin deficiency, so by taking a multivitamin containing Biotin you are just putting back what B5 is working hard to block.

I am currently on isotretenoin...am wondering if taking B5 with it will have any adverse effect? The isotretonoin works quite well on me...acne has drastically reduced but I wonder if I stop taking it will I start having acne again?...which is why I am considering taking B5. I have been on all the different types on antibiotics for as long as I can remember and almost all work while I am on it but a few months after I am off them, acne returns so I'm pretty fed-up.
ok so my first time replying, my acne story goes as such....
started getting acne at the end of gr 9 so i guess i was 15, got its worse in highschool. Used BP 10% to begin with and had horrible results (doctor didnt tell me about using sunscreen). By 17 it was pretty damn bad but for some reason everysummer it would go away or almost go away making me into a new person when school started. I used proactive in gr 12 and by prom I was free of acne and one way I knew other people notice was when I had a bunch of girls to choose from to go to prom with. I was completely clear of acne when I started university but a couple months in I had a bad case again. I then discovered this site and used the regimen for a while which worked but I dont like applying BP on my face soo I found B5 and when I got my first shipment in April/06 i started using it at 10g for 2 months with b50 complex twice a day, and would put on BP at night. B5 worked in decreasing oil and thereby reducing my acne and for a bit I my skin was mediocre so I upped the dosage to 15g. I took 15g for a month then back to 10g for 2more months, and now I have recently dropped to 6g been two weeks. I cannot say that my skin is perfect but I only have 1 active pimple which was a result of me trying to take out a blackhead (something I NEVER do). Ive noticed I only get pimples where i have blackheads and if I dont touch them they fall out bythemselves. However, I also have these blackheads whihc dont really have a mouth to them and are in somewhat of a volcano form, those are the ones whihc create pimples. 2 weeks ago I had 5 of them in one spot on my cheek and they all seemed to turn into pimples at once creating a giant pimple that lasted a good week.
SOOOOO in conclusion B5 WORKS, and for me I find it to be more natural hence less sideeffects. My skin is clear in the summer and usually at its worse aroudn this time however right now I cannot say its too bad other than the one pimple. I wash my face 3 times a day with something called tersaseptic, and only apply BP to active acne. Plus ive been trying to quit smoking cigarettes and something more natural with failed attempts but progress in cutting it down to once or twice a week. Hopefully this will be the week where I say no for good. Plus i get my B5 from swansonvitamins.com , the swanson brand as it has worked. I might switch to twinlab after these last bottles finish if I have a large break out again.
is b5 supposed to make your skin itchy or anything like that? I take it and then when I put my bp on it doesn't burn but it feels like it's all itchy. and sometimes my skin gets a little red..
unless ur just beginning to use BP, it shouldnt itch. ...if something on my face itches it usually means im gonna get a pimple.
I have currenty just started the 10g b5 + 50 complex 4 days ago and Iam getting a huge breakout, I hope this is normal cause its not very fun. Anyhow my question is that I just got a month supplies of these liver support + cleanse pills and was wondering if I could take the liver pills with the b5?
