Thats odd for sure. Hmm i have no idea but I wonder if a deficiency in one of the B-vitamins could cause that since they say that overdosing in B-5 could throw off your other B vitamins. Have you been taking a b-50 complex?

ooooooooo k

if your reading this then your acne/pimples are most probably caused by excess skin oil (coz its a b5 forum duh)

any hoo

so like the other day i was thinking ytf do i still have pimples etc. and i came up with a few ideas that work for me.

1. when you wash your face (in the shower etc.) with cleanser n stuff why not get a wet warm cloth and wipe the excess oil from your skin because a cleanser doesn't get it all off.

2. wash your face 3 times a day. once in the morning, afternoon, and before you go to bed.

3. use a moisturiser in the day to help stop your skin from feeling the need to produce excess skin oil to moisturise the skin itself. although DO NOT use a moisturiser at night. the reason for this is that when you sleep, your facial skin is smooshed up against your pillow right, maybe the moisturiser forms pimples. i found that after not using the moisturiser at night i wasn't waking up with those tiny little white pimples.

please just try this for atleast a week.

Also i hold no responsibility if this doesn't work for you as it has for me

Brad

Still have alot more spots on my face than i started, iv'e seen no imporvment what so eva, just seen my spots more inflamed, wtf???? i thought Vilantae was meant to make my spots go away??

Ive spend alot of money on this junk and its not working?

I'm just wondering now are all these people on this forum, who say it works and all their spots have gone really are genuine people? for all i know you could be working for b5 companys and taking all of us for fools, maybe im wrong i don't know, but from my experience with b5 Vilantae, i'm on day 60 with more spots than what i started with, ive seen no gains what so eva and quite frankly im fukin pissed off, my hole summer i've not gone out from having alot more spots than usual and secondly im Skint all my moneys gone on this stupid stuff, im going to wait till the 3 months is over and see if its a miracle cure as they say it is, the comany says take it for 3 months and your spots will be gone, so il wait that long, but i know that my spots are not going to change in the next month, because in 2 months ive seen no change just an increase in spots!!!

If you're in the US-

I have 2 sealed bottles of the Pantothenic Acid/ B5 300 count caps from Vitamin shoppe exp is 04/09. qty=600 of the 500mg capsules. I have a partial bottle (i.e opened) of the B5 from GNC (at least 50 capsules 500mg exp 09/08) and a partial of the B5 complex -75, also GNC (at least 50 of the tablet type caps exp 05/07). Doc put me back on Mino and I never fully started the B5 program. If you're interested I'd like to get 35 bucks for everything and I'll ship them for free, lower 48 only. That's about 1/2 price. Lemme know via email only, because I'm not on here too much during the summer. Cya!!

everything you have said sums up my experience as well. i've been on it for nearly 3 months and the last 3 weeks have been the worst yet with no signs of the oil reducing let along dry skin which many claim. i've partly used Vilantae and there is some suggestion thats not the one to go for. if you look at some of the posts by member Craigy (who has used B5 for years) he has a theory that a Biotin deficiency helps achieving dry skin. Vilantae contains biotin and other b complexes so maybe it's worth switching to vitacure or something.

Ha, that was pretty dead on actually. I would guess that most people that go to dermatologists pretty much end up at the last stage with the Dermatologist (the tane stage).

Ok, I started taking B5 about 2 weeks ago. The first day I took 1 gram, then the next day 2, then 5, and from then on I've been taking 10 grams a day. I take 2.5 grams 4 times a day, each with a meal.

I'm wondering if I should be taking more. I guess my skin might be a little better since taking B5, but it's not that big of a difference. And it's been pretty much the same for about a week now, I always have a few whiteheads around my chin. I have had absolutely NO side effects from B5, which makes me wonder if I should be taking more. I'm 165 pounds, and I eat 3000+ calories a day because I'm trying to gain weight. I also drink like 5 bottles of water each day.

Should I try taking more B5?

my b5 comes in gelatin capsules that i can pull apart into the two halves to see the loose powder inside, do u think it would be easier for my body to absorb the b5 if i took each half seperatly since my stomache wont have to disinegrate the capsule completely?.. i say this because i kno if u take to many of these water soluble type pills u will end up just pooping them all out with out recieving the benefits.

so pulling them apart leaving one end open and swallowing each half, would it be more beneficial? (yeah the capsule lays down and spills on my tongue but i swallow with water quick, if it will clear my skin id chew the damn things)

also im only taking 1/4 the recomended dose to start to see if this will help my skin any, and im taking atleast and hour between each single 500mg pill to make sure they digest.. im being extra cautious with this digesting thing only because i kno its a waste to take to many at once to then crap them out

maybe thats why everyone else isnt seeing any difference, trying spreading the doses out and dont take more then 2 at once..

I just wanted to add that I am only taking 3g of B5 a day because I'm approaching my mild comedonal acne via diet, herbs and topicals, and one thing I have noticed since starting B5 is how much more physical energy I often have... It's great! Of course, it could be just a bit of a combination effect of an improved diet, all the herbs, vitamins and minerals I'm also taking...

The added energy is a huge bonus!

Hello. Sounds exactly like what I experienced. The best way to get rid of these pimples is to use BP. After washing, put plenty of BP pn and gently rub in as described in the CSR on this site.

15g a day is fine for now. Don't decrease the dose until you are totally clear as it won't work.

i realise its been a while since you posted this so my advice may be irrelevant now!

Quick question: Does anyone know about how long it takes for the oil to start decreasing? I'm on my 3rd week today and I've already seen a definate change in the overall appearence of my face. The only thing that is bothering me now is the oil :wall:

Hey, I've been taking b5 for about 4 months now. I noticed an improvement in oilyness and blemishes within the first few weeks. My skin was great for about a month and then started getting bad again. At this point I upped the dosage from 5 grams to 7.5 grams per day - this seemed to help. After a month, same thing - so i upped to 10g/day. Now it's been 3-4 months and it seems b5 no longer really helps. Excuse me but WTF is up?

Ok ive been doing 10g a day for like a month and a half now and I really do have great results. Ive spread it out thru 4 doses in the day. I also take extra vitamin E and C in the morning.

I wash my face with purpose soap and a jojoba + tea tree oil mix. It works really well, i only have 1 small active pimple in my hairline. The blackheads on my nose are starting to fall out as well, and arent returning. I love this stuff.

By the way, im using the stuff from bulknutrition.com. It only costs about 10 bucks for a months worth (for the first 3 months) after that its like... 2 bucks a month.

My guess would be that Ill be 100% clear (no blackheads or blemishes of anysort) in another month or so! I highly recommend this stuff!!

Btw, my only side effect has been tiredness, but I have nothing to do on weekdays anyways so theres nothing wrong with a little nap :D
