I've been on a low dose of B5 (1.5g) for 2 weeks (I tried the 10g regimen but my GI tract could not handle even 5g)... In the past week i have had 1 tiny pimple and I'm very hopeful... We'll see how the next few weeks go!!

Just one question though, how long does this 'initial breakout' period last? 2 weeks? A month? Just so I know long long I have to wear makeup for!

There is no set guidelines for how long a breakout will last. What I can say is that you should not be breaking out any more than you previously have after around the 4 month mark. From then on your skin should be healing and clearing.

hi! just wanted to ask the girlz that are taking b5 and haven't reached the 3 month mark, have you notice that usualy you get a small breakout just before ur period. It usualy happens to me and I start thinking that the b5 is not working. I get depressed and just after I get my period I seem to clear, not completely since i just started the regimen with b5 , first month on it, . Do you girlz experince the same thing? And i do tent to pick a lot on them too when i get this breakout. Is it normal to still breakout bieng on the first month. I seem to be clear for a week and the i breakout and then am clear again and now my fourth week i have a breakout ..... is it normal? or maybe do you think b5 is not working?

Well that explains why my skin is less oily since taking Universal Animal Pak, a popular body building multi/supplement. It contains 760% of vitamin B5, and a direct form of Coenzyme A.

hey everyone, so I've been on B5 for a little over 2 weeks and I think my skin is getting better. I haven't had a real pimple in 6 days. At the start, I had a really bad initial breakout. Things have definitly gotten better, but it seems like its taking a long time for my skin to heal from the intial breakout. Has anyone else noticed this??

I read this on this website http://www.vitaminb5acne.com/ " put 20ml tap water in a glass and solve 5gr of B5 powder in it. This gives a 20% or 25% B5 solution. I apply it about 4 to 5 times a day on my face, spread over the day. I think spreading it over the day is very important. It's enough for about 3 days. Keep the glass closed when not using it.

Keep in mind that B5 solved in tap water probably has a much earlier expiration date than dry B5 powder."

Is this save to do? any thoughts

Are you using other stuff? Like a good cleanser and something like BP?

I think B5 has helped my Bacne a lot, but I still cleanse my back with SA and apply BP at least twice a day.

So I think if you arent already, make sure you still are cleansing correctly and I recommend BP.

hey I somehow managed to read this whole thread. A lot of interesting info and mixed results it seems. I've starting day 13 on B5. I've noticed less oily skin on back and face. I had this leftover powder B5 from an earlier trial of B5 which I abandoned. I got it from acnemiracle which seems to be out of business now? I"m taking 10g powder everyday, mixing it with green tea. It doesnt contain any extra stuff I don't think. So I'm also taking:

1500mg of Vitamin C

400IU of Vitamin E

B-100 Complex

10000IU of Vitamin A

But I'm worried about hair loss recently. Today has been the first day when I was combing my hair and it just seemed like a little extra hair was coming out. Too early to tell. I thought the B-100 complex had enough biotin to prevent this but now I'm not sure. I'm going to get some biotin today and start using that.

But I have a question does it matter when I take the biotin and b-100 complex? Should they be taken a while after a dose of B5 or does it not matter?

Also my current amount of B5 will be gone in around 20 days or so. Is it better to go with these first 2 options or the last one? The first 2 being cheaper but maybe the quality is less than the 3rd option. The 3rd option seems too expensive and would only last 20 days. I prefer the powder form also, rather than swallowing the pills each day. Or is there another option of a more expensive powder that has the biotin and b-complex stuff mixed in?

Okay I"ve been on B5 for 10 days now, I thought I didnt have any side effects, but some weird things have been happening to me that must be related to B5. Has anyone read anything about B5 effecting the nervous system? Because I am getting these weird pains all over my body. Pains liek I just hit my funny bone or something. Pain around my eyes and on my brow bone, pains in my back, arms legs and feet... wow I really dont like this. It's quit annoying and distracting having these pains and it maked me nervous. I'm taking 10g of B5 a day, B-complex, multivitamin, zinc, milk thistle and evening primrose. Anyone else experience this before? plus I noticed I'm really tired and weak feeling. SUPREMEONE, I am nervous about hairloss too, but when you're nervous about it you tend to pay more attention to your hair haha, like "omg three hairs just came out!!! AHHHH!!!" lol I have no clue what's going to happen with B5 :( but so far I am a little dissapointed because of the pains it it causing.

I am on day 20 of 10 grams/day of B5 and over the past few days I CANNOT sleep. Two nights ago my legs were in major pain and I wound up falling asleep at 8 AM. I did workout my legs in the gym that day but I have NEVER had that happen to me before before going on B5. I would say that is the only side effect I have gotten from B5.

As far as my skin goes, my face is looking incredible as I only have about 1-3 small pimples at a time (non cystic, tiny ones) compared to about 5-10 cystic and regular pimples that I had before B5. My back/chest is the real reason I started B5 though, which I still have not really seen any improvemnt on yet, maybe less oil. Just for the record I am taking Vitacure B5 clearskin powder 10 g/day, and I've recently dropped the B complex and got better results from doing so.

Yeahhhh! That's exactly the way I get, where I cant sleep cause my legs hurt! I wonder what the heck is causing this pain?? It makes me a little worried. I will not drop the B-complex because I'm afraid of hairloss, maybe the results will take loger to show, but I just dont want to lose my hair haha. By the way congrats on getting nearly clear!!! YAY!!

I am experiencing similar things and I am only doing 4g/day. My body's left side is just hurting for no reason, from left knee to lower back. It sometimes feels like you're broken. Definately not a pleasent feeling. I won't be dropping the b-complex as I don't want to develope a defiency in other B vitamins. Hoping this pain will go away.

Yes I have quite a high pain tolerance, I can handle head aches and back aches, period cramps.. whatever, I dont belive in pain killers so I try not to take them... but man these pains are just annoying cause they're everywhere. HOpefully it's just our boddies adjusting to the B5 intake and it will go away, I will post again if the pain gets better.

Yeah, I've heard good things about evening primose oil. I haven't noticed any pain yet btw :o When I first started B5 though I had to go to the bathroom more often. And my urine is very yellow now of course.

And the thing is.. for some reason I wasn't combing my hair hardly at all last week.. so probably why I saw so many hairs coming out. but it was so many I was freaked at first. But probably just built up. Seems fine now and I just started taking my biotin supplement. I'm kind of worried though since b5 prevents too much oil on your skin, that it'd make my hair dryer and then it has less weight and could break easier etc. I have fine hair so it's more of a concern for me.

But I'm hearing some people suggest not taking the biotin since without it, your skin stays dryer. I don't know, I'm thinking about taking it every other day. I have 1000mg caps, the kind i'm taking is an all around hair support supplement "Mason Natural Extra Strength Hair Formula With Choline" also has PABA, whatever that is. So now I'm more optimistic about nothing bad happening to my hair.

Also that vitacure powder seems decent but if you refer to my first post, I found a place that gives you double the supply for half the price. Wondering which way to go on that :\ Sometimes have to be weary when things are priced too low.
