anyone experience increased sleepyness? i seem to get tired a little easier..and find it harder to wake up in the morning. i also got weird dreams while i was tkaing a lot of o3 per day (5-7 grams) i decreased the dosage and stopped gettin the weird dreams but still get more tired than normal. not sure if this is bc of the o3 or b/c of my own body.
Fish oils are natural blood thinners. If you are taking huge doses of it, it very well could be making you feel sluggish. You may need to back off on the amount. Also, if you are taking any other supplements such as Vitamin E you may be getting a cumulative effect. Always be careful with taking more than what is recommended on the bottles.

Yes she's right, be sure to recognize the difference between induction of relaxation to having your blood being too thin. For instance, keep a tab on your blood pressure reading. When my blood went thin due to excess fish oil abruptly (taking too much in the beginning too fast) I would feel light headed and I could sense something was wrong, and then my blood pressure showed it being TOO low.
Now on the other hand, now my BP is normal levels (yet very good) and I am always relaxed and my sleep is alot easier to attain and I get those deep dreams.
So as a precaution get your BP checked to ensure that it's not your BP being low, and you feel okay. Hopefully it's just the positive effects of the fish oil working to relax you 🙂
Hey guys, could someone tell me how much vit A there is in the average 1000mg of fish oil? I know it's little or none, but if it is little, does anyone know how much? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been answered already!!
Pretty sure it's going to vary from brand to brand.. but for example GNCs brand: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp41710_333181_s...el_capsules.htm
There's not mention of VitA on the actual label and the other Ingredients:, Gelatin, Glycerin, Vitamin E.
So if they mention VitE as an other ingrediant but not VitA I would assume there is none at all.

Doc told me I'm all good last time I checked up with him. 🙂
I was taking 6.0 grams at the time, now at around 4.8 daily.
So remember when I complained about the fish oil supplements?
Well I have stopped for two days and let me tell you. My skin is actually clearing up, I can't believe it, and my oil production has dramatically increased. Also my blemishes and overall redness is going down.
How in the hell could this be happening? I've only done it for a week. Is it because I was taking too much of it? I was doing 1 gram a day of Omega-3, and well my diet isn't that great. I barely eat much, so maybe I was taking so much in that it coudln't keep up digesting it all?
But the two days I have been off, I have been using Retin-A and CeraVe as a moisturizer.
My skin has become dryer, so I need to keep moisterizing.
I wish I knew what was going on, and maybe I should keep going back to the Fish Oil?
Thanks guys.

You mention your diet wasn't that great. What had you been eating while you were taking fish oil? An important thing to keep in mind is that fish oil is fat soluble, meaning its best absorbed into your bloodstream if taken with a fatty food. I try and eat a lot of chicken and turkey for lunch and dinner, and take my fish oil with that. For breakfast I usually have sunny side up eggs, eat the egg white, and have some fruit. I take 5 capsules with breakfast, lunch and dinner, totaling 15 daily. I am just now starting to notice improvement after roughly 20 days, and my skin did seem to get worse at first, especially about a week ago. It is noted in the main topic of this post that you can be a bit less careful with your diet in terms of what you eat, so I would suggest try eating more (not junk food, but more meat, preferably not red meat), work your way up to 4g omega3 and stick with it for at least a month. I really think you will start seeing improvement after that point. Good luck 🙂
Well when I was on the Fish Oil my skin would become so itchy, because it was so oily. So is it possible that the oil would come out of the glands in my face instead of being properly absorbed?
And I too have noticed that I have been very tired recently, which is what you guys have been discussing too.
Yeah my diet isn't that great, I do eat alot of fatty food, I eat diary products and all that. I mean if I changed my diet, everything I eat would basically be cut. The only thing that has any sort of nutriutional value would be at dinner time, from a home cooked meal.
For me its too hard to give up junk food. I don't eat any green vegetables, and in fact I haven't touched green vegetables my whole life, I just don't like them at all. I love fruit, so I should start eating more of that.

I would firstly cut out the dairy, seriously it's basically acne juice. It's opposite of a cure for acne. Drinking milk is generally going to lead to acne =(. I've been off of it now for about a month or so and what a huge difference it has made.
But try eating fish normally and see what happens
Ah thats a shame, but I will try and cut dairy out of my diet now. Shame I love dairy foods, but for me to get rid of acne I will have to do it.
Use vanilla rice milk. Honestly the best thing I ever did. And the funny thing about it? It tastes so much better than milk that even if I had the option of going back I'd say hell no. Vanilla rice milk tastes heavenly!
I use this
Vanilla rice milk eh? Sounds interesting I think I may give this a try as a cow milk alternative. I never drink milk anymore because of the dairy issue of course, but I would like something I can have every now and then as opposed to just water all the time. Does it have a fat content that might help with the absorption of fish oil or is there really not enough fat in it to matter? I've been on a search recently for foods that contain fat but are also healthy, since I don't want to eat junk food. I eat a lot of chicken and turkey, but its proving difficult for me to find other things. Any other suggestions anyone?
ohhhh rice milk? I'll need to try that........but I thought rice was bad for you? Is just the milk form of rice good?
Nutrition is so confusing. 😆
It's delicious, plus it has all the nutrition of regular milk in terms of vit and minerals =) Since it's fortified to match.
It is mostly rice sugar, but it's such a small percent of your daily total that any effect is not even noticed at all =). Plus, it's better than the other alternatives by a looonnng shot.
Soy, dairy, they all mess with hormones. Almonds have too much omega 6. So rice it is!
It's really divine, the taste, mmm! 🙂 Don't forget the vanilla part, they have regular and vanilla =)!
Wow, this is actually really good. Its funny because I went to the grocery store figuring they probably wouldn't have it, and the first place I looked there was like a whole shelf of it. It really is delicious though. I was very surprised. So yea, guess I'll add a glass of this a day to my diet. Good find Romeo
ehh, not to get off topic, sooo... everyone back to fish oil talk!

I'm going to try that rice milk out. 🙂 I miss milk sometimes. Is there any cereal that is good for you too? Probably not, but Romeo seems to find everything we need. 😆
I'm not off topic *runs*

I found out I was okay with gluten products (thank God), so I just eat wheaties like usual now 🙂 I am just going to avoid any foods that can influence hormones: dairy/meat. That always yields the best results for me it seems =)
About the rice milk, family went to walmart and said they had rice milk for 2.60 a half gallon, something like that. Beats the $2 for a quarter of a gallon!
But I am not sure yet, I'll go check it out eventually. If anyone stops by walmart please do find out 🙂
Man, I reallly hate to say it -- but i think milk breaks me out? lately, i've been drinking 3 cups of milk, and my acne has been bad. I have several cystic pimples forming on my jawline and temple area. hmm, or could this just be all a concidence?
also, my mom takes those sams club brand fish oil pills, however, i havent seen any effects with those, but have with the spring valley (walmart brand). could that be concidence too?
but most of all - i think im breaking out because of my hormones (test.) =/

Yup, even with fish oil, when I used to drink milk and eat cheese daily, I got more oil than I do have right now. Milk is just horrible. Milk has a direct source of DHT from the pregnant cow that you get it for. I like to call it acne juice. Drink milk, get hormones. lol
You will notice not just acne, but your sexual libido may even increase. Off of milk, my libido is more constant and controlled. With it, it goes nuts. It's not a coincidence either, milk is just terrible for acne sufferers. 🙂
The proper dietary ratio of omega-3s to omega-6s is two to one, but the modern diet typically provides the opposite.

lol some sources actually recommend more omega 3 than 6 =) So that's good news.
I'm on day 20 of taking 4g Omega3 (15 capsules) daily. Just wanted to give a progress update. So far things are starting to improve. The amount of sebum has been reduced greatly. My skin is still a bit oily, but that is starting to improve as well. I've made an estimate judging by my progression rate (if it keeps up) that within two more weeks to a month my skin should be perfect in terms of oiliness. Lets hope all goes according to plan
