anyone experience increased sleepyness? i seem to get tired a little easier..and find it harder to wake up in the morning. i also got weird dreams while i was tkaing a lot of o3 per day (5-7 grams) i decreased the dosage and stopped gettin the weird dreams but still get more tired than normal. not sure if this is bc of the o3 or b/c of my own body.

This may sound strange but the other day I switched back to my old fish oil brand and I got extremely vivid dreams, I had 3 in a row and I have never had deep dreams for many months. It may be just coincidence, but I will see. By the way the brand I switched back to for a dose was member's mark.

The dreams were very sad too and I woke up crying

Also check this

Another really weird thing is that ever since I started taking my fish oils I noticed my dreams at night became a lot more vivid and I still remember most of the dreams I have. I was really really depressed before, even as a teenager, and I almost never had dreams.... or at least never remembered them. After taking fish oils, my dreams are so vivid, it's like watching a movie!!!! So awesome!!!

I'm so glad to hear you write about the vivid dream observation w/ fish oils. I don't think I would have ever made the connection! For the last few years I've rarely remembered any of my dreams. I just started taking fish oils capsules every day since last Friday night and so far I've remembered at least one dream and two of the nights have given me such vivid dreams that I woke myself up during them (the first one I woke myself up talking in my sleep & in another, I was jumping down on a plant that was going to spring up out of the ground & woke up feeling uncomfortable and noticed that my lumpy pillow was under my stomach).

I decided to take the plunge on fish oil to see for myself if it was the missing link with some of my pesky eczema.

Perhaps the member's mark brand really is much more effective? Not sure, I usually use puritan's pride now. I will stay on member's mark and see what happens.

The reason I believe this may be happening is that fish oil induces better sleep, and deeper sleep usually gives you better dreams (I believe), something like that.

What brand are you using?

I would go with that deep sleep thing, I just started taking 2.7g of fish oil a day and have this dream I could have sworn was real! I was doing a paper round. I don't even have a paper round, I basically woke up and almost went to do a paper round. Lol

Haha wow, but hey at least that is a GOOD sign to the fact that it's working :). I am going to stick to that brand and see if it happens more often.

By the way, what brand are you using and to what dosage (if it's different from what you stated).

I also was doing the Aspirin Masks with honey. Then mosturizing with aloe vera gel and Cetaphil.

What am I doing wrong here? I take 3 Fish Oil a day, for 1 gram.

I'm breaking out even more too, someone please help  😥 😥 😥

Is it possible that it's just a fluctuation? Perhaps you aren't digesting the oils right. Have you considered digestive enzymes as well?

Well with the softgels I just swallow it whole right? I dont need to poke a hole or anything.

No I've never considered digestive enzymes. What should I get, and what will they do to benefit me?

I got mine as gnc, they're not as expensive as enzymedica and worked pretty well. They ensure you have all the enzymes to digest what you eat. It 'MAY' be that you are not digesting the oils. Or perhaps you are sensitive to fish? Do you have any fish allergies?

I get this brand:

Its Superdrug's own brand (not sure if you have Superdrug in the US). They have 300mg of epa + dha, so I take 9 a day = 2.7g of omega 3.

I had another crazy dream last night, damn wierd. Can't remember it though. And I woke up a good 2 hours later than usual, I was in such a deep sleep. Lucky I'm on vacation.

Anyway, its wierd that fish oil has this affect!

Me too!! I had a dream I was near the beach side, going over some nice bridges in my car. I was heading to a restaurant before meeting my family, it was all too clear. I even saw the crabs I was trying to jump over because they were trying to bite me or something.

I'm going to be pissed if these last 2 months were wasted because puritan's pride was a shit product. I feel much better already going back to the old brand member's mark. I am much less inflammed too, and I am always relaxeeedd.

I am really concerned as to why puritan pride did not work as well, even though it had more.

But yeah, vivid dreams are continuing.

when you experience this, the sleepiness, how much sunlight or brightness are you exposed to? have you been outside more when you have begun the fish oil regimen?

No no, I have no idea, we'll see what happens within the next week or so. I kinda wondered how they could afford 600 pills for only $20 (buy 2 get 4 free). Maybe their potency is not the amount listed since it's not regulated by the FDA? I don't know, lol, but that would really suck! The only reason I switched back to member's mark was because my puritan ran out, so I had to go on that for a while, and when I did, I noticed a difference. Perhaps it's coincidence, you see, so I am waiting to find out. 🙂

I'll keep checking to see how you're doing. 🙂 I still have 4x100 bottles left. I will use that and see what I purchase next.

Hmm I haven't been outside more often than I normally am..my bedroom window also faces a brick wall so i don't get too much sunlight when im sleeping lol. yeah, my dreams are pretty vivid...and i had like 3-4 realistic sexual dreams in a row at one point. not that im some kinda perv LOL..it freaked me out a little. i use the jamieson brand, 0.5 mg EPA+DHA. im still getting some realistic dreams now..but not as often. last night i had a dream where i was going to go to a theme park i had not been to in a long time..i woke up and realiezd i was dreaming and i felt pretty disappointed lol. im going to up the dosage back to around 4 grams/day..and see how the dreams go.

actually now that i think about it, from the start of june onwards i've been driving a lot more..when im driving my arms get a lot of sunlight. they're pretty tanned now.

I wanted to know if anyone who has been on this regimen for a decent amount of time (1+ month) experienced any sort of IB in the first couple weeks? It may just be in my head but I got a really bad breakout recently. I know this can be experienced from B5 and accutane (I was on b5 for a year and did have an IB within the first couple weeks), but I really didn't see any reason for it to happen with fish oil, since the omega3 has a different beneficial effect.

These dreams are crazy. Last night I dreamt I was a superhero, my power was I could summon winds or gusts of air to blow people away.

Welll guess what, I had to take a PILL! And then I became stronger and it turned into a flaming wind that set people alight.

So, does B5 cause an IB then? I met just halt b5 down to a gram a day.

B5 can cause an IB for some people, but it shouldn't if your taking such a low dose. IB may generally occur if your following the 10g regiment... which I did.. and was happy... and now wish I hadn't.

Anyway, the reason I asked if fish oil has a similar effect with 15g a day (4-5g omega3) is because over the past few days I've experienced the worst breakout I've had in a long time. I've been on it for roughly 15 days now. I'm really hoping it starts to get better soon. Also, I have experienced vivid dreams every night for the past week or so. Its amazing actually. Does anyone know if this is simply because your put into such a deep sleep? I notice that I wake up feeling energized as compared to half dead. I'm loving the way I feel.. I just pray my acne follows.

I've tried reading through all 123+ pages of this thread and have decided to start taking fish oil pills. From what I can tell NOW is a good brand to go with? They seem cheap, here's a link to amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Omega-3-Fish-Oil-1000mg/dp/B000638P2G/

So, 2pills = 1 serving @ 1000mg, So to achieve 3grams daily it would be 6 pills a day correct? If so this seems to be quite a deal, 200 capsuls for less than 7 bucks for a total of 66+days taking the max recommended amount of fish oil a day. anyone?

it's been discussed a few pages back on what your dosage should be based on the product just flip back.

also initial breakouts with fish oil? maybe your allergic?

I didn't experience an initial with b5 or omega3.

btw another dream, shorter one this time.

lates.

I pretty sure I'm not allergic (at least I really hope I'm not). I think I may have experienced this because I've been off of B5 for almost 3 weeks now and my oil has returned. I do feel however that the oil is starting to be curbed by the fish oil, so it may have given the illusion of an IB since I'm essentially starting over.

Also, I know that many have said your oil is greatly reduced, but has anyone noticed their pores starting to shrink after a few months of the omega3?

Yeah so my skin is alot more oiler and I have broken out more. I have stopped taking Fish Oil until I find out what is going on.

Is it supposed to be worse at first, then get better?

That is usually how it works with everything no? I remember an initial breakout with o3 too.

Also I ate ribs today and some chocolate cake, lets see how that turns out. :) I'm going to stress zero over it and see if I break out hard anyway.

Check out the reply in the omega 3 thread (the non sticky one) where you wrote the q =)

Acne is just a disgusting time clock, "Hey it's break out time" *Boosh* And it's always each day, it never takes a break. You get something each day. =/
