I think i'm seeing a side effect, i have these like breakout of dark patches which arent pimples or nodes just glossy patches that messes up my skin appearance, not sure if this was from the maca root i took 2 days ago once, or the high ammount of omega3s.

Wanted to know if anyone else had a similar side effect?

i just started swimmin when these popped up, could it be bacteria or something?

Thank you for answering my questions.

I have some other questions that came to mind today.

So I started taking 3 of the soft gels and will do this daily for a week.

Now when you exfoliate the skin with the baby brush, do you put nothing on the brush and just put it on your skin with just rushing water from the shower head?

I need to pick up Dan's facial cleanser soon too

Each capsule in that dose contains 350 mg of omega 3 (roughly) which is normal, as most seem to have that much (around 300).

hmmm how'd you come up with around 350mg?

I'm already tryin to pump up that number, wouldn't you want to take it throughout the day instead of just in the morning?

EPA + DHA divided by 2 since it says 2 softgels per serving 🙂

Yes, I would split it into 4 ways 🙂 Meaning, an equal amount with each meal granted you eat 4 meals a day at least. Or if you only eat 3, then 3x a day 🙂

Try to take a picture of it and send it to me, so I can help see what it may be from. How do you react when you eat fish usually? If you are not sure, try taking maca seperately without fish oil and see if it goes away... then do vice versa 🙂 If nothing, then it's probably not related. Is it rashy?

Ok so it says in each serving(1pill) there is 500mg of fish oil, 250mg of Omega-3 fatty acids, 150mg EPA, and 100mg of DHA. So each pill is 1000mg or one gram then? And you guys are talking about taking like 12 pills a day so thats like 12grams, isnt that quite a lot? Like unsafe overload your liver a lot?

they're saying you need 3-4g of omega3 only so since your supplement only has 250mg of omega-3 use that number to get 3-4g. so like thats 4pills to equal 1g of omega3 in your case times 3 for 3g = 12 pills.

correct me if im wrong.

lates.

correct =)

If you can't pick up dan's cleanser, the best thing besides that is purpose cleanser, works pretty good too 🙂

Yes, I make sure my face is in the stream then use the brush when it's warm with the water from the stream (warms it up well) then sweep across gently. Then I use the cleanser to cleanse my face nicely so it can do it's job best. It will allow for better addition of moisturizer later 🙂

Well it is capsulated fat =P You could of course get the fish oil liquid 🙂 One of the reason is half of it contains saturated fat so it will absorb much better in your body. But it's good it's a softgel and when it's wet, it will slip down your throat.

OK so Omega3 is the stuff I want to help my skin and oil and stuff right? Then is there another brand or kind of fish oil with higher levels of Omega3? I mean shouldn't I be trying to get the highest dosage of Omega3 possible? only 25% seems kinda low.

Have you considered using an electric toothbrush for exfoliation instead of a baby brush?

Yes, it's generally a lot harsher especially for acne prone skin.

Ok so does anybody have any suggestions for a fish oil that is HIGH IN OMEGA3 and is mercury free? What is the normal amount of omega3 in a fish oil capsule? Mine only has 250mg and that seems kinda low.

It's usually 300 so that number is not too far off, so it's fine. Puritan's pride is 400 mg

I've heard that too but I am not sure how gelatin causes acne

I think b5 isn't the safe one. But if you still insist on taking it, yes fish oil won't hurt you

Alright just a few questions...

for BEST results you want to maintain a 1:1 O3:O6 right?

and calculate O3 in fish oil, you add up the 2 numbers on the back of the Fish Oil bottle?

On the first page romeo said that 3-4 grams is needed of O3 in order to work. However I read somewhere that you only need 1-1.8 grams of O3. Which is correct or does it depend on your O3:O6 diet?

Considering we all eat different foods everyday and the intake of Omega varies, what would be a good amount of O3/Fish Oil to take each day?

well drop down to 5g a day and use 2g of omega3 then possibly 2.5g a day of b5 and 3g of omega3 or something like that.

I'm converting to high omega3 in hopes of shuttin down my acne. Well considering i was on b5 for 2months or so i think i fixed my system; oh i was on omega3 but at a lower dose, so im looking for good results from these new reg.

peace

Yeah, but it's not that simple. I'll explain.

You eventually want to be 1:1 or a little over. But to get there, just by taking in 1:1 in your diet will NOT equate to 1:1 in your body. It may take wayyyy longer to get to 1:1 by eating 1:1. It's necessary to over compensate for a few months to get to that level in your body, then drop down to 1:1 in your diet. =)

But a good general amount, I've always read about 1 to 2 grams of omega 3 for general health 🙂

Right guys, a little help please.

Im stopping the b5 thing after I finish the bottle because I keep hearing horror stories.

Now, I don't want to start the fish oil thing and then hear horror stories like what happened when I was on b5.

I know this is a long thread but I can't read through it all. Stories of success would be gratefully received. :D

people are making the conversion from b5 to omega3 cause its safer. your body cant produce omega3 like b5 but omega3 is a food not a vitamin, overdosing in food is not equiv to overdosing a vitamin which results in side effects.

I personally didn't attribute hair thinning to b5 since i started to see more hair fall out prior to b5. ::shrug:: anyway i was on wicked stomach probs from that 1 month of high b5 that eventually went away.

I still take like maybe 1-2g of b5 just for the hell of supply my body with it since it can't produce it, along with biotin to counter hairloss of course.

peace.

Well thanks, I am going to make the switch. Is 1-2g of B5 ok then, not associated with the side effects seen with the mega dose?

Does anyone know if it is alright to take fish oil when taking an antibiotic? I am currently on Tetracycline and my derm said not to take any other supplaments while on this because it will work to stop the absorption of the antibiotic into my body. I asked her which ones I shouldn't take and she mainly said calcium and zinc.

side effects are assiociated with OD'n, so yea 2g is fine cause your body can't make pantothenic acid anyway. I consider OD to be 8g+. Heres a tip don't take alot of pantho if its nothing oily your eating, like i would take 1 500mg if i were just having some salad and a apple or something but 1g if i were eating lunch like chicken and rice or something. just an example of what i follow.

you can ask your doctor if your unsure, but fish oil is a food not a mineral or vitamin that fights for absorption. A similiar example is when taking zinc, you hafta compensate with copper.
