I must say, if fish oil won't clear our skin 100%, it will at least relieve the negative emotions with it. Each time I go without it for just under 24 hours, I get depressed, and it is the type of depression you know that doesn't just happen. It really does help with mood and emotions greatly, like an anti-depressant.

I'm out as of today, and not sure when I'm getting more. I better hurry

I figure I can spend a little more on the Nature Made brand, and then get more of those Members Mark from Amazon. Those work well enough, and come in huge amounts.

Day 8:

My skin isn't doing so great. There's massive whitehead on my nose and a few whiteheads in other places on my face.

I can't say I'm noticing any difference whatsoever, yet. If anything, my skin has gotten worse. I'm of course going to keep going and try to keep this up for a couple of months. In the meantime, I'm trying not to get discouraged :(

So tomorrow is 4 months for me, and unfortunately i've had quite a drop off this month. Still trying to figure out whats wrong. Ive changed bottles twice this month, and I just tested one today and it tastes fine. Im probably gonna decrease my dosage a little, because apparently taking as much as 8.6 grams like I have isn't doing much. I've kinda started to get inflamed breakouts again and that tells me something isn't working like it used to...

Im not sure what im gonna do yet. Ive only been taking my latest bottle for a little over a week, but since i've already been taking fish oil for 4 months I wouldn't think it would take much time to see an improvement.

I've been trying to watch my diet now, and I guess I need to give that more time, but for the first 3 months fish oil mostly kept me from getting a bad breakout from whatever I ate, and it seems like thats how it is for most other people too. But one of my reasonings has been that ive gotten more opportunities to eat poorly during break and i've only just started watching my diet for not even a week so hopefully its just gonna take a bit more time for me to level out my omega 6's and 3's. Im also starting a new multi-vitamin too and i've never take one so hopefully that will help me out.

I notice that I do get really comfortable taking fish oil then I decide to binge on bad (high Omega 6 foods). So diet really is important. The fish oil won't completely save you from diet-related acne. One word of caution: I won't use multivitamins because the iodine in most vitamins will breakout acne prone people. It happened to me. Healthy food should be a good enough vitamin supplement...seriously.

I was sort of in a rush, so I bought some fish oil from CVS. They were out of Nature Brand, but I went ahead and purchased these other ones.

They look good, but I'm worried that them being cholesterol free. Would this be bad?

I'm getting more Members Mark soon.

They deffinately work because they were outstanding for 3 months, no doubt about it, it improved my confidence and i was really enjoying life in that period, sounds such a cliche but without acne i am myself which i love!

Try them by all means but why they "stopped working" for me i dont know.....

I added up the values I was told to in the Original Post and the value was 250mg per capsule. I'm directed to take only one capsule a day but is 250mg enough to be effective?

Thanks in advance.

Help me, please!

Nope, you need more... take a gram a day to start, so 4 of those pills... see how you do for a week, if you need to increase, go to 1.5 grams, then 2 grams etc

Shit, this is gonna be pricier than I first thought!

Ok, I'm gonna try 4 a day starting tomorrow. It says "Take one capsule a day" Will I be safe taking 4 times the advised amount?

I'm gonna try these. 300mg of EPA and DHA when combined so I'll take 4 per day which will last me for 45 days. That seems like a good cop to me!

I think most people are getting it from boots, from the uk, I think it is. But be sure the brand is good! 🙂

Don't worry, it should be worth your while, in some form or another... it's what we're desperately missing 😉

I've been taking 3-4 pills a day (at 1 gram each) as well as saw palmetto and zinc daily. I can't say I've seen a change yet. I think I've been on it for about 4+ weeks now.

Does anyone take ACV and fish oil pills in their regimen? I've heard the ACV can have a nullifying effect on the fat in fish oils.

Taken from Bobby Digitals post on page 109:

"No. Thats not how the body works at all. People think stuff can just get "burned up" but they don't. ACV aids fat metabolism so it should help the body use the fish oil properly.

I don't drink a lot, just a tspn in water every morning before I eat or drink anything else. No ones ever actually claimed that ACV interfered with their fish oil results, someone just asked whether they could be used together and a misconception was born that it burns it up somehow."

I took some this morning and yuck. lol...

You might also wanna try Seven Seas Pulse Advanced Omega-3 Pure Fish Oils just over 3 for 30 capsules at tesco. 600mg 03 per capsule - i've been taking them instead of my usual over price brand and i can't tell any difference (similar 03, but 16 for 60 capsules!!!). No fishy burps or anything bad so far - but i keep them in the fridge as the capsules are quite small and feel a bit "soft".

I may look into those but I ordered the ones in my post as they seem to be of pretty good value. I'm planning on taking about 4 per day (to gimme just over 1.2g of EPA+DHA) and I'm gonna eat salmon as often as I can.

How long have you been on fish oil and has it at all helped you? Also, what level would you rate your acne?

I've been racking my brain for the last couple weeks trying to figure something out but im at a loss. 🙁

i took it for about three months with great results, and then suddenly my skin went downhill, so i decided to eat really healthy with loads of vegs and fruit. however, it did not improve, only worsened. so eventually i made an appointment with the derm and are back on tane, not to happy with that, but at least i'm acne clear again. still taking my fish oil though, just not sure what went wrong! until i figure it out, i will remain on tane. for me, its only a short-term solution because i've been on several courses of tane, with a relapse after about three months of stopping it. so i really need to figure this out, the sooner the better. has your skin improved yet?

Its weird, it seems like its only working halfway. Im still getting some areas that look like theyre gonna breakout but never really do and start going away, which is the ant-inflammatory effect, but on the other hand ive gotten some areas that are very sensitive, and a couple pretty bad inflamed breakouts and I didn't really have that once I started fish oil so idk really. Im cutting my dosage in half too now, to like 4 grams.

So im adding green tea extract and saw palmetto into my supplements...im not gonna keep stressing about it, especially since im not the only one that had this experience. Its very interesting that you and also dzz also saw great results up to 3 months and then a fall off...im interested in finding out what the hell happened, but right now i gotta focus on finding something else that works.

thats exactly what i'm planning on doing, and when my tane course is finished in three months my hormones should have stabilised from taking SP, green tea extract and fish oil.

LOL drink it with a straw! And close your nose while you do, get past your taste buds, never drink it from a glass straight up! It can get gross lol.

How many of you guys are either taking lactose, or gluten in your daily diet? Just a survey type question. Lactose being any dairy, and gluten being mostly wheat, rye, barley, or even oats (not that they contain gluten themselves, but the place they are made is usually dealing with gluten so they bunch it in the same category).

I'd been taking 600mg per day of o3 for over a year (not for acne), and eating some salmon (usually once/twice a week) and it never did anything to combat my ance. At the end of january i started up'ing the amount o3 to 2.7 grams a day and haven't notice much difference (i thought it had got rid of my dry skin patches, but they still come and go - i have combination skin, some areas dry other areas oily). I haven't really seen any benefit from the omega 3 since taking it past my initial dose level.

I have had great success working on my digestion and possible causes of leaky gut syndrome in the last 3 weeks. I'm about 90% clear now, but i will probably keep the omega 3 going at a slightly reduced intake. I have a 90 day self made plan, which isn't too hard to follow and i'm seeing some good results - it's still too early to say if it will cure me 100% though, and how many other people it could help i don't know!
