A serving is six capsulesA better comparison might be between the fish oil and flaxseed oil capsules. The first thing to notice about flaxseed oil is the serving size. For the Spectrum brand, its six capsules! According to the label, that six-capsule serving supplies 3.4 grams of ALA, which converts to roughly 340 mg of omega-3s. A single fish oil capsule will give you about that much omega-3.
Another problem with flaxseed oil is the omega-6 content (about two grams per tablespoon). Omega-6 metabolism competes with ALA for some of the same enzymes, so ALA might not reach its full omega-3 potential if theres a lot of omega-6 around.
The bottom line
Flaxseed oil will give your diet a nice little omega-3 boost in the form of alpha-linolenic acid. You might try adding some to your salad dressing. But its a backup, not a substitute, for the omega-3s in fish and fish oil because of the conversion factor. If youre in need of omega-3s but are concerned about mercury, fish oil capsules might be a good choice. Some brands are made from fish with little mercury content. But dont give up on eating fish. Salmon, pollock, and catfish are all low in mercury. And canned light tuna is lower in mercury than albacore (white) tuna.

1. Most probably not, just ask your doc in case if you can.
2. Check the first post in the dosage section, that will suit you 🙂
3. It all depends, you may not even see improvement, while some see it in days to weeks. Some months. It probably varies upon your digestive system.
4. Carlson, Nordic Natural at good high end brands. The lowest price but efficient brands are the walmart brand, costco's brand, and sam's club brand (they all have names but you'll know when you go in there).

It did not stop oily skin, but it reduced it a lot 🙂
They are both the same, there is only fish oil pills, which contain omega 3
What are all of the supplements you are taking now NdnRomeo?
What are you eating now?
And finally what stage is your skin at?
My skin was looking really good up until today. I was not having any inflamed acne for about the last two weeks, this morning I woke up with an inflamed pimple starting above my lip in the mustache area. It really sucks too, I am going out with a new girl tomorrow and my skin is not going to look real awesome, but I can't really fix it, so I am just going to have to live through it. My skin is looking pretty good aside from that.

Sucks to hear about that. Hopefully it dies down! Good job on the date by the way 😉
I made a huge mistake this week. The week before was honestly the best week of acne history in terms of clarity (no new acne that week), but this week I made a mistake. I got too comfortable, and I decided to stop using moisturizer completely. I also started using conditioner. I used citre shine. To my horror, conditioner completely clogged my forehead and now it looks absolutely horrible now that they are all coming to the surface! I was dumb to have done that, I thought that once you rinse out conditioner it cannot harm you, boy I was wrong, it was like horrid wax.
So I went in reverse 🙁 I feel like kicking myself from stupidity.
Question: When I try to take fish oil I taste it all day. When I take fish oil I get bloating, gas or indigestion? Why are fish oils so important? Can I take flax seed oil instead? Many individuals have become deficient in the enzymes needed digestive certain oils, including fish oil. Try taking a digestive enzyme along with your fish oil capsule at each meal. This should do it. If not, hang in there or switch to flax seed oil. The most important part of fish oil is DHA. Deficiencies are linked to mood disorders, depression, anxiety, fatigue, ADHD, and poor immune function. This long chain fatty acid isnt in flax seed oil.
Sixty-percent of the U.S. population is deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids.
The American Heart Association reports that studies show that fish oil supplements drastically reduce the risk of sudden death from heart attacks and or stroke. Those individuals who took receiving fish oil supplementation (1,000mg twice a day) were 45% less likely to die from a heart related disease.
Another study published in Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention, showed that studies suggest that marine fatty acids have an anti-tumor effect on prostrate tumor cells.
These oils also reduce help boost hormones that naturally reduce allergic reactions, pain and inflammation.

But I thought we shouldn't take more than 4 grams anymore more than that is dangerous no?
The only real dangers seems to be lessend ability for your blood to clot, so you jmay bleed more if cut or injured.
Also, fish oil lowers blood pressure, especially in high doses, so if your blood pressure normal or low then you may get light headed as some people have experienced. Start off slow and work your way up.
I take around 7 grams a day will no ill effects, only benefits. My chronically high blood pressure is near perfect now, so for me it brought everything back to normal.
get your blood pressure checked from a doctor to see if the fish oil is lowering to cause the light headed dizzyness. Their might be another cause to it.
I have low blood pressure but took 2 grams of fish oil for over a year and a half and didnt experience the lightheaded or dizzyness any worse.
I have recently stopped taking it due to costs and will see what happens to my skin because I have taken it for so long. I noticed I started getting 1 or 2 spots here and there but it could be to the increase in chocolates i have been eating.
I just bought a bottle of 30 pills from Walmat.. it writes: Epa Marine fish oil .. i dont see nothing about Omega 3. Is there any problem?
it's fine, omega 3 refers to a combination of epa and dha. epa is actually the one that benefits the skin, whereas dha helps with brain function and mood.
So I've been taking Fish Oil now for about 2 months and one week. I am currently taking 4.8 grams. I am also taking the Anti-biotic Bactrim that was provided by my doctor. I am moisturizing with aloe vera and aveeno sensitive skin sun lotion. I have changed the way I use the baby brush method and use ACV. Every other day I use the baby brush in the morning and apply ACV as a toner at night. The next day I don't do this. I repeat the process the day after that. My face has thanked me for it. I don't feel like I'm overdoing it anymore.
On top of that, I've been doing situps and pushups every morning (hey, every little thing counts). Oh, and I've also been drinking some ACV every night. I try to keep a fairly balanced and healthy diet, although I do like to splurge once or twice a week.
My skin looks the best it has in years. Just a few redmarks. I haven't really had a new pimple on my face in about 2 or 3 weeks. I currently only have 2 active pimples; One on my back and one on the side of my neck. I forgot, I also have a little activiy on my chest (but these seem to be going away). Now I just gotta worry about getting rid of those annoying red marks.
Here is a photo of me that was taken yesterday...
well that explains why I've been so dizzy and light headed 🙁 is there anyway to balance my blood pressure while still taking 4 grams of fish oil?
Not sure. My only suggestion would be to space out the dosage as much as possible throughout the day. Maybe try eating some more fish or omega-3 eggs and get some o3 from there. Maybe the food sources won't impact your blood pressure so much if it takes longer to digest.

Is using the Fish oil regimen + zinc good for fighting oily skin.
Yup! Zinc is great, so is o3. Consider getting a good source of vitamin E as well

wow! Congratulations Ryan! I must say your skin does look very good. You only seem to have mild redmarks that will disappear in time. You have a healthy glow too. It may get less and less as well. But overall, your skin is very manageable, what do you think? It looks good to me! Do you feel much better now? Tell us more :).

I have a certain confidence that I haven't felt in a long time. It's a good feeling when you feel like you can look someone in the eye and not worry about whether they can see that big whitehead on your face or not. My skin also FEELS better and I am much less oily. I don't even feel a need to use oil blotting sheets anymore.
I'd also like to add about how important mind set it. You have to believe that you will rid yourself of Acne. You have to believe that your acne will go away. You have to believe all of this and never stop believing. If a pimple happens to pop up on your face, do NOT stress out about it. Say "Oh well" and just keep having that positive mindset. Your mind has a bigger impact on you than you may think. It can be your greatest asset, or your worst enemy. Now all I can do is keep doing what I'm doing and hope it stays this way.

The best thing is that the omega 3 also aids in having a clear mind. I can't stress how much it helps me keep positive. It has helped in school too! This stuff is just magic!
