Zinc shouldn't conflict with fish oil, its a natural thing in the body that you need. I used to take like 200 mg of zinc a while back...never did anything for me, except maybe made healing better which is why I just started taking it again. I have 50 mg pills ive been takin twice a day but you say im not supposed to take more than 50? Ill have to look into that.

From what I've read, taking too much can actually have a negative effect on Acne, not to mention side effects after long term use.
Check the link that Romeo posted, and look through some of those threads. Let me know if you find anything intersteing that I havne't noticed.
Bobby Digital, check this thread, for the amount of Zinc to take.

Now back to the filsh oils lol...
Side effects anyone?
Just wondering for those who are taking the fish oil if you've noticed any sort of side effects? Honestly I have no idea if this is caused by the fish oil or not but lately when I work out i find out that my muscles fatigue more easily and I feel out of breath trying to do my normal sets with free weights and weight machines. I haven't noticed much of a difference though with my cardio. It could just be that I'm not as in shape as i've been in the past (definitely true) and my body is struggling to get back in the groove or I thought it could have something to do with the thinning of blood that I've heard fish oil can cause. I'm between 3.9-4.4g a day now. Any thoughts? Romeo?

That's strange, hasn't happened to me, maybe someone else can chime in. I know bber takes a lot more than us but still works out, so nothing was reported from him. I know others work out too, like ariventa, and cyph, they were good too I believe. So it may be just your nutrition?

i actually have more energy and endurance since taking O3.
count fishula , I changed my name because everyone IRL knows me by my last screenname and it kinda bugged me out that someone could just mosey over here and know it was me. Granted my pic is in my profile but at least my name isnt a dead giveaway
on another note, I am so inconsistent taking my fish oils, how do you people do it? Take a bottle with you to work, school, car, etc etc?!?!?!

Zip lock works for me 🙂
Though I could imagine walking around with a big bottle of o3's 😆

I carry it with me under my arm when I'm walking, and strap it to the top of my car when I drive. 😀
lol, kidding. I put it in a small tiny bottle and then keep it in my bag. Or when I am out when it's not school time, I don't take it.

Yeah I use zip lock as well.
As an update, since I upped my dosage from around 4g to over 10g I think my skin has improved, it's only been a week so it's hard to tell at this point. Plus I tried B5 last week and it really dried my skin out and I got really sunburned yesterday as well. But I haven't had any stomach side effects or anything while taking around 4g of EPA/DHA at a time, so I think I'm gonna keep increasing until I get around 15-20g. I'll let you know how it goes.
Argh I can't look through 88 pages of replies to see if someone's already asked this question lol, but can anyone tell me what fish oil tablets would be best to buy in the UK?? Preferably ones I could buy in a shop, not over the net?
You should buy Holland and Barrett's EPA Fish Oil Concentrate. It has 300mg of Omega 3 per capsule. If you hurry you can get them for a third of the price they are normally, working out at 2p per capsules (4.74 for a bottle of 250 capsules). They're on offer until Sunday, so hurry!! Online or in the shop. Try http://www.hollandandbarrett.com to find your local shop if you prefer.
Or try Boots own brand Omega 3 capsules. They're quite good too, and very easily accessible, from every Boots shop. Not as good as the Holland and Barrett ones which come with Vitamin E in them, but still good if you don't live near a Holland and Barrett or can't order online. Slightly more expensive than Holland and Barrett.
Good luck!

I carry mine around in one of those 35mm film canisters. They're starting to get rare, but are very useful little tubs. I can get about 10 in one, and stuff a bit of cotton wool in the top to stop them rattling around, which makes you sound a bit dodgy!! Easy to carry even in the smallest bag, and there's no worry that they'll get squashed.
4 to 10? :wacko:Some real jump there. I'm at 6 and feeling just fine. :surprised:
Well I did it over the span of a week or so...but yeah, it kind of surprised me too that I'm having absolutely no side effects from taking so much. At the start (around a month and a half ago) my stomach was upset a little, but I think my body's becoming a little more accustomed to the fish oil. And now I can down five pills at once like a champ

I dunno but my skin is looking crapy and bumy and red. i havent had dairy or suguery foods in 2 weeks. do u think its the capsules and should i stop? i have been eating alot of wheats though, so u thing that could be it? please!

Jumping the gun there are you not? It's only been 2 weeks, give it more time.

I would guess it's the excess wheats. As far as I know (from these boards) nobody has broken out or had worse skin from using fish oil, at least over a month or more. You may be going through a purging phase, but it's more likely that you have gluten sensitivity or whatever it is, try limiting your breads for the next week and see if it clears up. Good luck! 😀

Drop wheat products, see how that goes, I have a feeling it could be it. The days I don't take wheat, are the days I've had great control. Try it out. It may or may not work, just got to experiment.
*Update*
It's been about two months or so since I've taken higher dosages of Fish Oil (Nine 1200mg Fish Oil Pills). I've been getting cystic acne below my jaw line and on my neck. Sometimes 6 or 7 at a time. Since this regimen I'm only getting one or two smaller pimples on my neck. I've noticed the significant improvements about 2 weeks ago. I can't say for sure that it's purely the fish oil that's helping.
I have switched from using a rotary shaver to wet shaving using a disposable razor & shaving gel. Adding the baby brush exfoliating method (my personal favorite) to my daily regimen seems to be doing the trick too.
My diet is "average". I'm not sure about the whole "wheat" thing, as I do eat wheat pita and Hummus and Oatmeal for breakfast on a daily basis.
I have noticed that I don't have dandruff like I used to. I attribute that to the fish oil. There definitely is some benefit to the fish oil.

That is awesome Charles! I hope it continues over the next few weeks for yourself and gets better.
Yeah, the wheat thing is just an individual thing to each person, some people it could be dairy and what not, and for most it's nothing at all but just not getting enough efa's and a proper diet 🙂
Best of luck!
