I got a bottle of 1200mg with 400mg of EPA and 200 DHA

How many pills would be a good amount to take?

Try 5 a day.

I just started taking this stuff i few days ago, along with applying jojoba. Im up to 4 pills a day, which is 2 grams of omega 3. I had some abnormal breakouts at first, but i think that was because i was using too much jojoba. im gonna stick with the 2g for awhile and update in a few days.

I'm sure this was answered somewhere in the thread but I don't have time to go through the whole thing...

How much should I be taking of the fish oil per day? Also, how much of cod liver?

Thanks!

Standard dose is 3-4 grams of omega-3 fatty acids a day. Cod liver oil (assuming you have the real stuff) should be taken at .5-1 teaspoons/day.

Wow, I haven't been in this thread in AGES! Glad to see that it's still around. Are you still around topic creator?

Last I recall, I was taking GNC's liquid cod liver oil, which I recall making me dizzy/drowsy at times and difficult to take considering all the other stuff I consume during the day.

Recently I tried a bottle of "Nature Made" Fish Oil, which contains 2400 mg of Fish Oil per serving (yet contains 720 mg of EPA & DHA). Is Nature Made a good brand, and how much of it should I have been taking daily? They were kind of pricy, and they have double strength pills that cost more and bring less as well. Dunno if I should try CLO again

I take 5 capsules a day. My skin(not facial skin) has become very dry now. Is it because of fish oil?

your all talking about getting the Omega 6 and # at a 1:1 ratio, what does that mean? how mutch should i take of eatch? I got these seal Oil pills lying at home and it sais it has 3 fatty acids; DHA, EPA and DPA and the pills also contain Omega 3,6,9.

it sais if i am to take 4 pills i get this amount:

omega 3 = 630mg

omega 6 = 84mg

omega 9 = 930mg

DHA = 328mg

EPA = 256mg

DPA = 152mg (you guys said DHA and EPA is good for acne, is it the same with DPA?)

Is this fairly balanced? or? what should i add?

Okay I'm looking for a good brand of omega 3 fish oil to buy. ?

Any suggestions?

Also I'm looking for pure fish oil not the ones that have vitamin A and other vitamins added.

Thanks

for about 5 days ive been taking anywhere from 6-9 1200mg fish oil pills, and ive been seeing consistent results everyday.

what i have noted is that right now my skin is much softer, and a little less oily so i think that my sebum content has changed.

without over hyping this phenomena and turning it into something its not, i would still like to say that my acne is clearing up although its not dramatic it is a stable and consistent improvement at a rate of about 3% improvement per day, which compared to any other treatment ive tried is actually pretty miraculous.considering on accutane you could be breaking out for the entire six month course before you clear up.

Ive been researching omega 3s obsessively for the past week or so. And also just started this.

there is tons of scientific proof that this stuff helps or could cure acne.

so if you want it, i got it but so far all my posts seem like they are falling on deaf ears because no one understands my jibber jabber.ha

the key is to balance your omega 6 to 3 in a 1:1 ratio.

remember that sebum is fat, it would only make too much sense to see a relation to the quality of dietary fat and sebum.

congras mate!!!! for ur improvement

where can i get those from and do i need a pres. to get that or i can buy anywhere. does that have any side effects. plz let know.

congrs once more in the fight for goddamn f**kers

Hi!

Can someone please help me with my question regarding olive oil. I know I'm a bit off topic..sorry. Is it ok for me to eat heated olive oil? Will heating the olive oil (in cooking) make it rancid or harmful or cause acne (will it cause inflammation)?

Thank you!!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I have eaten heated olive oil for eyears

and do not think it has caused any any inflammation, at least not in my case.

but allways use" medium-low heat

I've normally been taking 1-2 fish oil pills a day from the Vitamin Shoppe I got a while back for just health reasons since I've been working out. Maybe the amount I've been taking isn't a high enough concentrate cause it's not affecting my acne from what I can tell and oily skin as ever.. thinking about trying zinc.

Yeah, most people here have found success with at least 3 grams a day, which is 5x the amount you're taking, assuming your fish oil capsules are standard-sized.

Provided it's not extra virgin. Extra virgin tends to smoke, and the oil has an anti-inflammatory chemical in it that is broken down by heat. EVOO is best taken without cooking, just pour it on after cooking.

Hey guys, I've also seen omega 3 pills pay off!! it helped clear me up really well (not 100% but I was basically clear, occasional zit here and there) and kept me that way.

I just want to say do not stop taking the pills, my acne came back when I stopped taking them, and then when i started taking them again my face eventually cleared up again but it took a good few weeks again.

Now for my own question: I noticed that when I take more than 2 grams a day it affects my bladder (makes it REALY soft to almost watery... anybody else experience this?? ) thanks!

I have some liquid norwegian cod liver oil it has the omegas but my concern after reading up on it is that its so high in vitamin A. :-( I am considering taking it only twice a week and when I'm done pick up flax seed oil since it has the benefits without this worry of added mercury and extremely excessive vitamin A.

Has anyone taken flax seed oil and seen improvements in their skin?
