Meanest thing that someone has said about your acne

When I was 14 years old and the acne was starting to take control, a school teacher approached me (in front of a full class I might add) and, having noticed a large amount of spots around the nose area, asked me if I was a glue sniffer!

Mortified doesn't quite cover it...

Another one... (Iam having painful flash backs now)... similar to Zira's.

Again when I was about 13-15, a girl Iad known all the way through school and I quite fancied (from a far obviously) informed me that i USED to be fit...

I can pin point to those instances as to when my self esteem plummeted

If someone were to say something about my acne, I'd smile at them sympathetically and then say, "I'm so sorry that you've experienced so much hate in your sad life that you feel the pathetic need to spread it."

"hey, do you have chicken pox or something??!!" :| .. some girl said that to me once ..

and little kids (even though they don't really know any better) will often say "hey whats that stuff on your face ?! why you got dots on your face?!"

even though i usually laugh it off or be like "haha its just pimples, one day you may get it too" , deep down it still hurts.

One time a little kid told me "What's that red stuff all over your face?!"

I just said "it's a .....disease" and that was good enough of an answer for him.

It really made me self-conscious about my acne though!

"What's on your face?"

"Did you wash your face today?"

And my personal favorite:

Girl comes up with microscope and examines my pimple declaring "Eww look how big it is!" to the whole class. :wall: Yeah... thanks for the confidence booster!

i've always had acne on my forehead which was covered by my bangs so no one ever noticed but over the summer i broke out on my cheeks and when school started this guy in one of my classes grabbed my cheek and squeezed it like how adults do to little kids and then he was like ewwww! and this guy who i used to like who was standing next to me did the same and was like eww too. FML.

and when my dad came back from a trip and i haven't seen him for a long time, (last time he saw me was when i didn't have acne on my cheeks) he went to kiss me on the cheek and he kind of hesitated and kissed me on the side of my face where i haven't broke out :(

'Puistenknop' Dutch for like pimpleface.

Heard it a few times, and DAMN it hurted every single time. I'm so glad i'm on Accutane right now. One of the best decisions I made in the past few years. I only get positive responses about my skin. =) (Only sometimes like, dude do you have herpes orso) (For my lips) but i can handle it. =)

Today I got "heha cut yourself shaving?" as I walked out of my college block, you know the kind of comment where it's subtle but you know it's directed at you to 'impress' they're friends.

I'm a big guy at around 6"5 and I work out so i know how to handle myself, I'm not usually a violent guy but this guy did really challenge my nature now when I get angry I get REALLY angry. I'm not trying to act all big on the net here but because I left him I felt pretty good when I was driving home, I mean a stupid comment isn't worth getting your face kicked in over right. He was probably just trying to act big so I let it slip ;).

There are just too many nasty and ignorant people out there. They comment on us but when we comment back on them, they gonna say things like we act this act that. Yea Whatever! I have quite a bad temper. Previously when people comment on me, i felt bad and bottled up my feelings. In turn, i became depressed. But now, i have recovered no longer feeling depressed anymore. Instead I am my 'usual self' now. Some days when i can take it i will just keep quiet and let it go. Other days, i will just 'scold' back. Eg:

F person: Look at his face! Oh ....

Me: Nv see before? Did i even ask u to see? Childish ...

F person: I dun like his face.

Me: U think i like urs?

F person: I wana slap his face.

Me: Dun only say, come do it! I promise u will regret it.

Of course these are put in a very 'nice' way by me here. In reality, it's said in a very harsh tone and of course vuglarities are in.

Well this friendly person that ive known comes up to me in the halway and says:

"Wow, what happened to your face, you should wash it."

LIKE WTF? and he was serious. OMG WASHING? WHAT A FUCKING GOOD IDEA MAN!@!!!! Is what I thought of saying.

Also this girl whom was walking neer me goes:

"Hey [my name], you got something..." (then proceeds to "wipe" her face with her hand.)

DO PEOPLE THINK BEFORE THEY TALK? I'm known to be a very nice person, never insulting anyone. I just don't understand anymore...

I really, really don't get why people say these things. I could never say anything demeaning to anyone, acne or not.

What the hell, people are horrible. :(

I completely agree!!!! Why would u come up to someone and insult them..... I am on accutane, i was in the mall, some middle aged woman comes up to me and says "I see your skin id really horrible, you should try Proactive, It really works." to which i replied " well i go to a dermatologist and hav tried roughly 14 different topical/oral treatments, and now i am on accutane, which is like the best acne treatment you can subject yourself to." She says "No,No No!! Accutane doesn't help at all...trust me.. its proactive." to which i ended the convo. by saying "No, accutane does work, i thought my skin was really improving." I walked away from her rudely,...

Second story- I was in a computer class at school. There was a new kid passing out papers, he didn't know who i was so he asked a girl a cross the room "who is (my name).... the girl replies " She is the one over there with all those gross pimples and zits on he face." I didn't say anything...but i ws furious.....and embarrassed b/c its a dark room i.e. your skin looks better.

I had a really bad cystic acne breakout a few summers ago. I found out my best guy friend had told my bestfriend that my face looked gross. That was something extremely mean because he is supposed to be my friend and he knew how self concious I feel when I have a bad breakout.

I was wrestling for my high school wrestling team back in 1996, and when i went up against a fellow wrestler of another school, he looked at me like it was agony to figth me, he told me , that he was afraid one of my pimples was going to pop. i beat him fair and square but i was so embarrassed, i almost left the gym. i still suffer from acne but its the cystic kind. i am 32 years old. today will be the first time i cut out dairy products. I notied everytime i drink milk i get a cystic acne in my goatee line. I am 32 this is quite embarrassing. I get them every 1-3 months.. i really think its the milk..

Anyhow back to my story. The embarraseement i felt that that was unforgiveable, i beat him in the mat pretty goo, but i felt i still lost the match.

Man, some of this stuff bugs me out. I would slap the shit out some these people, but then again it wouldn't make my acne go away, or make me anymore self confident so what's the point.

One of my friends, a few weeks ago, was like "what's up with all this on your face" I know he wasn't trying to be mean and I'm actually glad he said something. Better then when some of my so called "friends" probably just talk about it behind my back.

My family has always been pretty supportive, but I can tell when my lil sister looks at me now, it's different then from before. It's sad.

People have made a lot of stupid comments about my acne, but the event that hurt my feelings the most was when a group of gypsy children followed me begging for money, and when I refused they stood around making fun of my acne, asking what's on my face, and laughing about it for some time in a public place with other people around. It's amazing that little children can humiliate an adult so much.

I have a lot of acne and cysts on my forehead, which are covered for the most part with my bangs. But the pastor's 3 little girls walked up to me in church one day in front of basically EVERYONE and said just blatantly "you have so many pimples that you are trying to hide". It made me SO embarrassed, but what could I do, they were so young so I let it go.

Also, another time, I broke out around my nose and this one kid at camp kept calling me Rudolph. He'd always be saying things like "that's such a HUGE pimple!" and I would just basically walk out of the room for a while...I don't think I'll be going back to camp this year.

I don't understand how some people do not understand manners. You don't go up to someone and say "your face is ugly". They really need to learn to accept it and not comment, especially in front of all your friends.
