i was suspended for 3 days in my college few weeks ago because i started a fight.
why?
2 guys in the library was whispering and looking at me time to time while i'm doing my research, i get quite annoyed on that so i went to their table and asked "what's the problem?" then one guy said "your face is fed up, man."
after he said that, i punched him several times so we both have fed up face.
i know my face is bad. i just don't want to hear to other people how bad my face is.
when I thought my shoulders looked good enough to finally wear a short sleeved shirt I got this comment:
"Wow, you have a lot of bug bites on your upper arm."
the worst part was that it was a genuine mistake.
and something else I hate is when i'm hanging out with my friends and they start saying "oh, so-and-so's skin is so bad, she looks terrible" and I just sit there awkwardly, looking away.
just thought id throw my two cents in. The only time anyone has ever said anything to me or about me was "you've got something right on your chin" which was really thoughtless like no #$$! I know i have a zit. But after reading your stories i feel for you guys, that's just so careless and i bet some of those people didnt have perfect skin either!!
The next time someone says something particularly hurtful to you to intentionally put you down perhaps you should stomp their face into the curb to give them a taste of what it feels like to not have perfect skin. MAybe then they would understand the humiliation.
I have very light acne but even i feel self concious and noone ever says anything to me kuz im prolly the only one who notices but if anyone did say anything, I'm not talking about people who just try to honestly help by saying "wash your face" those people are merely misinformed i'm saying destroy the face of anyone who intentionally tries to put you down simply because you were born with sensitive skin.

I don't usually condone violence, but I'd make an exception in your case. You have my e-respect mate

Haha youve also earned my E-respect. I kind of have the same policy, I imagine that if someone insulted me about my skin Id probably flip, thankfully no ones actually said anything yet so I cant really test that theory out. If it was a girl that said it though, I dont know what Id do to be honest.
when i was a junior after football prac someone said "who ordered pizza" i kinda laughed cause it was prob the more clever joke ive heard about skin
and when i was a sophmore some girl said "you should shower", and i questionly.."i do.." she replied"no you don't, you hvae all the shit on your face"....and i just laughed and told her that washing your face more would make my face look worse

These are some effin harsh situations man. I would punch the guy so hard in the guts that he would vomit pizza, but wtf can you do about the girl?

Must have felt so good after punching that asshole!
Edited this because I don't think you should be taking my advice on that one (in regards to John's post). It was wrong of me to suggest calling a woman that word even if she is asking for it. I might have let it slip at a younger age, but I think you handled it well John.
spikey..trust me I wanted to go off on him so bad, but it's one of those things I just shrugged off. I didn't wanna get kicked off the team. And for the girl, it sound fucked up, but I made sure she knows, I said god will pay you back for all the fucked up shit you say about people. I got in too many fights over the years and junior year people look up to you, can't go out of character.
People tend to say I am gross for wearing too much make up. These people always have perfect skin. My friends roll their eyes when I tell them I need a good 2 hours to prepare my face for going out in public. If they had acne, they would do the same.
When I was at work one time, this older lady said "You have such a beautiful face!" I was about to say thank you when she said "It really is too bad about all those pimples. Have you tried to do anything about it?" I love talking to older people (so many good stories!) but I wish I had the guts to say " Go F*** yourself."
When I was in tenth grade, this boy was like, "Jade, if you didn't have acne, you would stand out more".
I was like huh? I usually would have a quick reply, but that day I was speechless.
And I hate when people use to come up to me and just start recommending products like I ask them anything.
today i was starting another week of counseling at this summer camp and when they told me where i was workin, the 1 girl in the group (she is 11) said "ew i dont want him! his face is demented!" right in front of the girls my age i gotta work with and then she kept sayin "he's scary" and " i like him cuz he's ez to make fun of" i was ready to quit but i just kind of shook my head and didnt say anythin... i thought my acne was somewhat mild but now im not so sure... :-k i neva thought id get dissed so bad by any1 let alone a lil girl. and i gotta go back 4 more days! ](*,)
funny thing is i think mine is mild to i helped my friends little brothers basketball team they had 1 girl who just didnt like me at all for some reason, say some thing like u ew you got acne or some thing like that i dont remmber but it pissed me off but i ignored it Latly though its not so bad still annoying though, But back when i was in 8th grade some random kid ses you look like u can play connect the dats with your face, that i didnt ignor i pushed the kid to the ground and kicked him in hes face. since than though nothing has been said but im still pissed to have it.
while i have never had anything said about my face, my brother used to have the bad skin of the family.
we were at a gas station buying cigarettes for my MOM, not either of us, and the older woman behind the counter looked at him and said "you know, if you stopped smoking, your skin might actually look good." needless to say, i kind of freaked out on her. dumb bitch. people are so ignorant sometimes.
(This happened to my sister)
A girl in her class was staring at her forehead, and then my sister said,"What?" and the girl said, "I'm playing connect the dots with your forehead."
Luckily my sister doesn't care at all about her face(but she should), so this didn't bother her, but it would have bothered me.
An older guy at church wanted to talk to me...
So I came up and he's like "So what do you do for your acme?"
Didn't pronounce it correctly...and I was like "Uhhh I clean it..."
Then he's like "Well I think you should try stinging nettles.."
He goes on to tell me that it helps him with his random skin rashes...So by supposition it'll cure my acne permanently and in his words I'll be "a happy kid." That I needed to go out in the woods find this plant and make a tea...pure hogwash...I'd already read about stinging nettles as a treatment.
I told him that "I think it's probably just hormones..It'll pass."
He says "Well all kids have hormones...but not acne that bad." As he glances at my forehead..
I was thinking the whole time "It's none of your business..."
grrrrrr that annoyed me...I didn't ask for his input..I know what's wrong with my face and what I hafta do...
I didn't need him to point it out in front of a bunch of people like he did..
That made me feel pretty bad..
Hmm...nobody really outside of my family really bothered about my acne.
-But in 7th grade, when I had perfect skin, except for that one bigggg zit, these two girls commented about it. I didn't care then or now because they weren't most prettiest or "healthiest" (if you get what I mean by that term) people in the world.
-My dad constantly asking "what's wrong with your face", esp. with his tone of voice annoyed me. Sometimes I want to yell back I rather have acne than wrinkles, acne is treatable!
-My mom was like "I never had acne! Why do you have it?"
This happened in my ceramics class this year. I'm a junior in high school:
After trying out a super expensive face wash, my teacher obviously noticed that not only did my skin have a bunch of pimples on it as usuall, but it was exceptionally dry and chaffed also. She decided to be very helpful and give me a lecture about Cetaphil in front of the entire class...
Another little story:
I was talking to this boy, and I thought we both really liked each other for while. My skin had blemishes on it, but not very noticeable ones- they weren't red or inflamed or huge bumps. He asked me out and we started dating. And then my acne started getting worse. He took me out with his cousins once and they all laughed at him and asked him why he couldn't get a prettier girl friend, and not too long after that he told me I would be really beautiful person if I didn't have acne, and then he dumped me. Lol. One of those FML moments.
And in middle school I remember one boy going on and on about how I lived on "acne drive".

ouch, that must have hurt.. but at least you got to see his true colours, which is worth it..
What's FML?
