When I think back on high school, I realized that I never was really made fun of for my acne. It was actually in middle school that it happened. This is kind of odd. I attended middle school in Florida and high school in a small city in Ohio....sometimes I truly think that the surroundings you are in and the people who grew up in that surrounding can tell how they treat you. Everyone was really nice in hs and never said "Oh, what's that on your face"-it's something about growing up in the Midwest that I can't seem to describe. But in middle school back in Florida people were rude. No offense to any Southerners or anyone else. This is just a thought since I've lived in so many different places and have an interesting perspective on how people are in different places.
I work with ppl with learning disabilties so like children they know no diff so at first will just broadly come out with.. " You've a rash or something on your cheeks,You going or been to the doctor". - in mind one being very repetitive lady hearin it for like half hour ](*,) zzzzzz
But other than that only ever been one ocassion. Yet try this for a one timer chat up!!...
In bar walking through a certain area noticing couple ov lads starin hard eyeing me up. Im getting my drink, One walks over.
lll get you that drink.. n starts... Me and my mate just been admiring you blah blah blah argued who was gona come over blah blah blah during compliment pass's something about my skin not being so perfect but makes no difference to him like!!
Laughing I go "You got a girl????"
No he replies
" Wonder why" 🙄 and trots off.
:-s that's pretty nerdy.
And spending your time on an online message board about acne is the cool kid thing to do, right?
As for the original topic...
Wow, the people around here don't seem nearly as bad as whoever you guys are talking to. Back in 7th grade there was a kid that would suggest in an insulting tone that I need to see a derm, but that's about it. I don't think my acne is that bad though, so maybe that's why.
LMAO THAT STAR TREK MOVIE IS HILLARIOUS.
Btw, I think the worst thing someone ever said to me was "What are all those little bumps on your cheek?" (this was in 5th grade).
Another kid was like "They're blackheads".
I didnt really know what to say and they didnt say it in a mean way. They both ended up getting it worse then i ever did.
The worst is when they tell you that you should see a derm.
I am seeing a derm damn it. Nothing's working!
Or when they tell you to wash your face. Bleh. If they did some research they'd know that I can wash all I want but it doesn't matter! (of course, not washing, period, is a different story)
Yeah, other day I was at work and some guy said, "Hey, you should go see a dermatologist" and in spanish said, "se necesita para las viejas, no se puede con la cara tan fregada".....means something like, "you need too for the ladies, can't do it with your face that fucked up" I told him I already am and just walked away.
I wouldn't be talking, while that guy is over 100 lbs. overweight and sweats even before he starts working. I swear, some people.
A few other instances
1. In 9th grade, I was walking by a class and some girl in class saw me walking by the hall and just said, "Eww"....nough said.
2. My little nephew always is like, "stop going to the jungle and you won't get mosquito bites anymore!" lol. Then he continues saying how to fight the mosquitos haha, it was actually funny. I love him to death so that really doesn't bother me. Doesn't know better.
3. As I walking from high school, about 8 years ago, some little kid playing outside was just like, "Oh ewwwww"
In a better light, positive things that have been said:
1. One day I was talking to a friend because he was wondering why his girlfriend wanted to get "dermabrasion." He said, "I don't know why she's so concerned over it, I honestly don't care if she breaks out". That made me think of how some people really don't care as much as we really think they do. I enlightened him on how "emotionally damaging" acne can be.
pfft! the eww thing ppl do to others really bothers me.. some are such asses.. as for the nephew thing, it's funny in a "argh, little nephew" way. My sister used to get kids say "whah do u have chicken pox?" all the time. Which personally I would be like "SHUT UP!" since i was their age and knew better..
but ya, shut up whores who make fun of ppl with acne!
but consider yourself lucky.... those who wrote "acne in 5th gradE? whoah!" my sister had hers in KINDERGARTEN.. with adults staring at her when she was young saying things like "wow, its so ODD for one SO young to have pimples.. I've never seen anything like it!!" Nice adults.. you'd expect that from kids.
As for me, I was never really teased for any acne I had, maybe once in grade 6 or 7.. It's pretty much gone now except for red marks since i'm on Dan's Regimen
I dont think it matters what is said int he comment just the fact it is said. Knowing we all have to go threw each day with this on us is bad enough but someone pointing it out and making a spectakle of it is just cruel. I think it is even worse because acne isnt a choice. Its either you're lucky or not.
Although ive never really been made of fun because my acne it does kill me when its happend. The other day in class this kid said I needed to go take care of my pimples. At the very moment I wanted to beat some pain into him. Make him feel what ive felt.
I think it will be relatively good idea for these people to know what they are talking about before they open their mouths....
And I find it so strange that they don't ever think before speaking!!!
Are their brains empty or what?
Put aside kids, I think anyone older should know that talking like that can hurt others so much, especially when it's about something that can't be helped.
honestly screw being the "better person".. i say we kick some ass. the leprosy comment? holy shit I'd pull a quick one on that guy. WHAM! POW! KAPLUT! he or she would be DEAD.. well not dead but seriously injured.
the "treat others how you like to be treated" rule needn't matter anymore. If they have treated you in such a hurtful manner, than why should the rule apply to them? It shouldn't so smash away and good luck (only if u physically can of course)
