I consider myself not bad looking and quite built manly type of guy with acne.

I was travelling and in a place called surfers paradise in aus and decided just to go back to the dorm as had outbreak and just wanted a night not driniking. I'd popped these 2 huge spots on my cheek and i rekon you could have seen them a mile away. so i went and got a pizza (love been seen with pizza and acne by the way) and then got into a lift when this 6ft 7 brick of an aussie goes 'so you pom, got bitten by a snake eh'

fcking prick - i would have gone for him bar the fact that in the same lift wer 5 equaly big aus rugby players surrounding me'

The most uncomfortable ive felt in my life and i actualy felt like i was a thirteen year old weed - i felt pathetic, yeh thats about right.

a few times by pals - theres something worng with your face - what you mean its starting to dissapear or something. :wall:

Oh My God thats terrible!! poor poor girl! she might never get better but we hoppefully will some day

sorry for all you guys that have to take this shit everyday! the worst thing is when you feel you have done a pretty good job with the makeup and feel kinda nice and a look or a stupid comment just bring you down and u feel like shit! i have got a few reamarks also... from my insensitive mother that talks to all the relatives on the phone about how i "obsess" about my face when there are only "a few spots" and im so silly doing it!! well for you information these "few spots" are HUGE and i doesnt feel better about it when she tells everyone she knows!

and also she is on my back always that "just wash with sope and water, and dont use all that junk on your face thats why it gets so bad, i just wash it with sope and my skin is perfectly fine!!" well... lucky you... my father was generous enough to pass along the acne-gene to me its not my fault.

and also i was going out one night feeling kinda good, me and my friends stand in line to get in the club and get picked to get in before everyone else coz we knew the guard, and some ass in front of the line bursts out: "well i rather stand here for 20 minutes more then have a big zit in my forehead" ASSHOLE!!! and it wasn't that big either fuck him, my confidense dropped right away and i felt like going home... DICK!

and also my halfsister father and his wife was visiting and before she say hello she screames: "oh my god what happened to you face!!?? you never looked like this before!! wait i will call my sister she's a dermatologist she can help you!" so i had to talk to this stranger on the phone explaining my problems to her and she said to me: "dont eat sugar, eat alot of zinc and drink alot of water" she was nice giving me advice and stuff and i know she didnt want to be mean but during dinner i felt mortifyied...

and also the classics, "what happened here?" and they point to the same place in their face.

do people think we WANT to look like this? its seems to be that way coz it looks like they blame you somehow... like their thinking "you can't take care of youself, i have nice skin it's not hard just wash your face duuh" something like that...

and when they scan your face while you are talking to them, i always forget what im talking about because im thinking about how the person is looking at my pimples one by one and gets grossed out... fuck...

:doubt:

well good luck everyone! it would be nice if all from the board had a party hehe then everyone could relax and be themselves... and make fun of eichother hehe (no, just kidding)

que sera sera... ;)

Yup, people somewhy think that we just dont wash our faces or some other dumb crap.

Yes I am blind or stupid enough not to know that acne looks ugly and therefore I dont do anything to clean my face out... That's the answer they must be waiting for.

the one i get most from grown-ups is "why do you have acne?"

umMm...okay? yea its because i asked for this to happen and i absolutely love it when dumb people like you asks me dumb questions like that. Thas why i have acne. *rollz eyes* if i got a penny for everytime someone asked me that question my face would be clear now cuz i'd have all the money in the world to find remedies for my acne. LOL!!!!

The worst thing someone probably said happened when I was eating candy, me being the sweet-tooth since 2 years old, and this happened when I was like 13 years old, my younger cousin (like 6 years old) said, 'i wouldn't eat as much candy as you, because my daddy told me if I eat too much I would get chicken pox (ACNE) like you.'

Soooo hurtful! I cannot wait until he hits puberty. I seriously can't wait.

And also, this really butch girl with her body fat hanging out said to her friend, 'that girl needs to wear some powder,'....I'm really self-conscious about my oily skin!

I find that people don't have to say anything to make me feel bad.

I hate it when I talk to people and they don't make eye-contact with me. They are too busy zooming into a zit on my forehead or on my chin. I hate the way they look at it - They look at it like I have a 3rd eye on the zit spot. They are fascinated about my zit. And I don't have that many zits on my face. It sickens me to think about how they'll stare at people with severe acne. They are going to get punished one way or another [i'm a strong believer in karma. =o)].

I think people look at way too many airbrushed models in magazines and now they are superficial about people's looks.

I was making jokes while waiting to go into my class, and I noticed a "friend" was staring at me. I just ignored it until he said, "Doesn't it look like she has mould on her face?"

...I was completely floored. And my acne was getting better, too. So much for being optomistic. I was so mad, but yet I didn't say a word.

And this junior I know (but never really liked) asked me, "You, little pimple, pick that up."

And again, I didn't say anything. But yet I wanted to tear her apart. WHY?!

"Hi rudolf!" by my best girl friend when i had a big one on my nose.

dad yelled at me for wasting his money on medication.

Go dip your face in oil, when a friend an I were arguing( ya just HAD to bring up the acne didnt you)

of course: pizza face, love that one.

heres a new one

"Hey your dermatologist called"

all the comments aren't that bad it's the looks that people give you, or when they stare at a huge pimple that you know you have but scared to pop. you know, the ones that you just wish you could stay inside til it went away. Also it's annoying when family members think that JUST because they are family means that they can point out your pimples. "Hey you have a lot of pimples" i get that almost everyday. YEAH I DONT KNOW THAT THANKS FOR REMINDING ME.

On the other hand, i used to be quite overweight, but jogging helped with that and now i'm fit. i have no problem making fun of fat people lol since you really could control that, no let me rephrase you SHOULD control that. unlike pimples

oh almost forgot my favorite one: go get proactiv

This happened to me today at class. I was talking to a girl whom I was planning to ask out. Our desks were inches apart from eachother, so we were literally speaking face to face. I made sure to keep good eye contact, while she took a grand tour of my face. I studdered and paused for a moment mid-sentence as my self-esteem took a punch to the gut. After that, I decided to abort mission.

Damn you acne, damn you.

My moms friends and adults pointing out my pimples and asking if I went to the doctor for them at the fuckn temple.

theres a woman and guy that use to babysit me when I was younger. I saw them like 2 months ago and the guy that I thought of like a second uncle asked my mom "what is this?" he points to his forehead l

Those sound like oblivious people. I wish people were more sensitive about our skin issues and not even bring it up. The only people I feel comfortable talking to about my acne are my dermatologist and my therapist. I dont even really feel comfortable talking to my parents about it because they just tell me I look fine even though I look like crap

Wow, I can name a few...lets see..

This wasnt actually a direct comment but damn they were loud enough for me to hear. (this was back in 9th grade) This one guy said 'wow, why does she have the chicken pox?' and a different guy from that table said 'She doesnt have the chicken pox those are pimples'....I heard them and I was staring straight at them too and the guy said 'I think she heard us she's staring over here be quiet' :( gosh, I felt so embarrassed. I just felt like dissapearing or beating the crap outta them.

Another time (either 7th or 8th grade) A guy just flat out told me I had an acne problem. Gee :( like I had no idea.

Then, some girl called me pimple face (from the same school mind you...I hated this school soo much)

Another girl told my ''friend'' that she didnt wanna hang out with me because I have too many pimples

My ''friend'' told me this while we were out eating at a restaurant 'An apple a day keeps the pimples away' I laughed it off of course...even though it hurt like hell

Some girl from my class was standing beside me staring for the longest time at my face. Then she clearly stated 'wow, youre starting to break out on your chin now' Uh.....yeah thanks..

Ect.

Some people can be straight out rude and so insensitive. I just cant believe it. It really makes me sick.

Since I have a sweet tooth, my mother believed my acne was caused by sugar and chocolate. She blamed the acne on my behavior, like I was bringing it on myself. But I could go for months on a strict diet, and me acne was just as bad. It hurts when your parent believes acne & scars are self-inflicted.

My dad's friend would remind me that my scars would never go away. Gee thanks, a**hole, I had no idea.
