my point exactly.I mean we can cure cancer, how hard can it be?
THERE IS NO CURE FOR CANCER. People, please stop talking about stuff you obviously have no knowledge about. My friend's dad just died of cancer a few weeks ago. It spread from his liver to his whole body. You can't cure that. Millions of people still die from breast cancer. Millions of kids die from cancer. If you catch cancer early, you are very lucky. However, you still suffer greatly from the disease. If you don't catch cancer early, you have a chance at dieing because radiation/chemo don't always work. Sometimes the cancer comes back and sometimes the treatment just doesn't work. I hope I'm misreading sarcasm/trolling here.
There is no cure for diabetes. You're stuck with it for life.
There is no cure for HIV/AIDS. You're stuck with it until you die from it.
I hate acne and the emotional trauma it causes, but I'm hoping that scientists focus on the diseases that have an actual death toll. I would have have acne than have more friends/family friends die.

But there is a cure for acne. It involves eating healthy and living healthy.
been there done that, not working
if it's in your genes a bunch of veggies ain't getting you nowhere
You don't have to only eat a bunch of veggies lol.
And clearly you haven't "been there done that" if you haven't cleared your skin with diet.
And if you haven't cleared your skin with diet, it means you weren't working hard enough to do so and you gave up.

I assume you're referring to Type 1 diabetes, because Type 2 is absolutely curable and people who control their diet do it all the time.
HIV/AIDS is curable too, but only in the sense that if you keep taking your meds, eventually the virus will be undetectable and supposedly the virus is still dormant in your body, but I've never encountered anyone who became undetectable, wasn't exposed to the virus again and went into remission and acquired HIV/AIDS again. It's just not going to happen.
As a futurist, I can tell you that nanomedicine will most likely eliminate every disease, including acne. Believe it or not, we do not really know everything about Acne Vulgaris, e.g. which genes causes acne? Personal Genomes will allow doctors to prescribe medication specifically for your body. Nanorobots could cure allergens removing the need to regulate your diet. There is the possibilty acne is being caused by all the new chemicals in products and in the air. Many products that come in contact with the face do not label all their ingredients, which is concerning. Some chemicals in products can irritate the skin. The best way to fix acne would be to enhance the skin with nanorobots which would regulate the skin pores. Right now, there are very few topical treatments which use nanotechnology. Most use microtech. Nanotech is very primitive and in its research stage. Nanotech will only be used in 30% of products by 2020 according to TechCast. I think Nanorobots will emerge by 2045 maybe earlier, but then again even smartphones are not very efficient. Right now they are using drugs, chemicals, substances to treat acne, not even accurately. The topical drugs are spread on the skin with nanorobots we could potentially manipulate acne and bacteria directly and not effect other skin cells. Every product needs financial stability and popularity to become known. Companies must invest in better chemicals to keep consumers interested. There are several factors to consider and it's not that there is no money in a cure. It's that there is not enough knowledge and technology is very primitive. In 50 years life will be very pleasant.
Also eating healthy and being active is not going to efficiently cure anything. I know people who eat nothing but junk food, rarely exercise, and have perfect skin.
When I go to dermatologist he sees me for 10 minutes to write and a prescription for Accutane. It makes me very upset that it costs me $250 for him to scribble on a bit of paper, then the prescription itself is another $60! Sure is a money maker for them! I agree they should have more options available by now!

It takes a lot of steps to release a medication into public... It has to be researched, tested, regulated, approved, branded, marketed...
Ah finally a fellow futurist among us =), I welcome you to the org. I pretty much have the same idea as you about the combination of personalized medicine and nanotech. this has been the main reason why I've been optimistic in this area, but unfortunately by that time I would be in my mid to late forties so I wont have the luxury of just walking into an office and fixing the problem like nothing. But at least I'd have grown out of it way before then.
Moving to a different topic I'd like to say I very much look forward to the development of full immersion virtual reality. You see for people like me and others in this community. I look at vr as much more then mere entertainment, I look at is as an extraordinary way to help people that have developed ptsd as a result of the ordeal. To help in dealing with the emotional and mental trauma caused by acne. this is also another huge reason why I'm so optimistic about a better tomorrow.
I completely agree with your post gamew71, I'm sure your familiar with the works of dr.Michio Kaku, Ray Kurzweil, Peter Diamandis. lol I can tell you are and if not I highly recommend your read up on them as well as check out some vids from them on YouTube! those men truly do inspire me to looking forward into the future, honestly gives me a better then good reason to want to stick around if for nothing more other then to be a witness. if these men are correct in even a fraction of what they talk about in a couple decades we will be living in a different world & I say for the better.

If acne was contagious I bet we'd have a cure by now or a world where the majority had acne haha and it was the norm. Almost every contagious disease gets a vaccine or 'cure' not acne. lame.
Their are actually very few vaccines and the only diseases that can have vaccines are viruses. HIV is a virus, its contagious, and has no vaccine. There are thousands of diseases and most of them have no vaccines. Many are treatable though.
Lets be very honest with ourselves, if you were a pharmaceutical company that makes money from consumers buying your product, why would you want to make a cure?? that would just mean less money for you
This is why i say most of the products on the shelves are BS, just stick to natural products, and a healthy diet..

No that is false because some products have been proven to work. If you think it is so easy to make a cure then make one yourself.

you might THINK its helping you, its just your mind trying to betray you... and dont have to get all aggresive, we live in the 21st century, not the stone age, so they can do it
Looks interesting

Beet root juice provides nitric oxide to the body which could provide a solution for now.
