I second the bird / duck feeding idea tongue.png I actually went and did this a few weeks ago as a way to entertain my little cousins - I think I enjoyed it more than they did! I took a few photos too but my camera isn't that great. The pond / creek is around the corner from my house so I should do that, or at least hang out in that area more often. I always enjoy it when I do go. This also reminded me of the ducks at uni that climbed onto a girl trying to get the food she was eating - they are waaay too used to people. (I think I mentioned that before but why not again seeing as we're talking about ducks tongue.png )

I think I read an article on ducks a while ago in which it was said that they move to where people are because they know that people are going to feed them. lol If they were to start climbing onto me I'd surely freak out.

Also tell us what that bird is! I don't think I've seen one like that before...
I've never seen those! I love its feet! Is that their wings.. What the heck is going on.

It's a coot. That's its name. It looks kind of evil with that red eye and the black and everything. It's like a duck that has been demonically possessed. :P

I did an experiment today, instead of looking down when I walk, i tried looking straight ahead and if anybody looked at me I would make eye contact. And seeing the reaction

Results: 6 people turned away when I made eye contact they looked away in less than .05 of a sec. 4 people looked down at the floor after making eye contact with a scared look on there face. And 2 assholes made a disgusted look with their expressions. 2 girls looked at from far away approaching me and they said something to each other as they close to me they started laughing.

Conclusion: I'm either fucking crazy or people notice my acne like a bitch. And I will continue to look down when I walk.

I've got a chemical peel scheduled for tonight. I have work until 3pm and then one writing assignment to do and then I can rest! I try to treat chemical peel day (usually thurs or fri night) as a spa day, spending the day doing relaxation exercises and resting in bed with a book.

If you use peels make sure to use a collagen booster /b5 moisturizer afterwards, should help.

lol I really like the way you wrote that. It's amusing and sad at the same time. That takes skill man. You should be a writer.

Anyway, sorry to hear your experiment "failed".

I wouldn't necessarily assume it's because of your acne. Keep in mind, those people who looked down may feel bad about their appearance too.

The laughing girls bit in his post was disturbing though.

Most people don't like eye contact nowadays. I do a similair thing where I smile at strangers. It either makes people's day or freaks them the hell out.

Summary: People are weird.

I have an under the skin bump threatening me from just above my jaw line. I can see you hiding there Mr Bump. You better not come to my birthday party, you're not invited.

Hey Lily! I hope you're doing well! smile.png Thanks for the comment. To be honest I'm not doing much different...my diet hasn't changed, my workout regimen hasn't changed. My skin just went from decent to ugly like it always does...it's a never-ending phase lol. Frustrating is the perfect word for it!

I'm doing ok - skin could be a lot better but I'm feeling fine today thanks smile.png

I thought if you'd done something different recently it would be a way to pinpoint what caused the breakout - but it's never that easy! I guess sometimes our skin just wants to piss us off and does it's own thing haha

That actually sounds really good - having a dedicated relaxation / spa day smile.png Is it a certain type of chemical peel that you do (like glycolic etc)?

(Edit -- I miss the old quoting layout!)

It could of been a lot of things, not necessarily acne. Also, be careful not to over think or read too much into situations.

I tend to look away from people if we've randomly made eye contact because I'm conscious of my acne - so maybe it has to do with that - some issue of theirs that you don't know about - like them being shy etc. Or maybe you just had some odd expression on your face you didn't realise :P I'd say try walking around, looking up, smile at people if you make eye contact, and generally just adopt a sort of 'I don't care what you think' air of confidence (without being arrogant) even if it is just for a little while. See how it goes.

Sum1killme, that's a very faulty experiment. Firstly because you only walked past several people, and secondly because there are so many confounding variables. :P What if they were self conscious about the way they looked, so they looked down? What if they were looking at your clothes or a different feature of yourself, other than your skin? Point is, we can't read peoples' minds. I'm sure if a clear skinned person walked down the street looking at everyone in the eye, they'd get some strange responses too. People just don't normally do that, so it can weird others out.

Well, anyways, I have good news. So I had that small-moderate sized bump on my cheek. I tried popping it, but to no avail. I used my Tria Blue Light on it for two nights, basically letting it sit over the bump for a minute or so each night. After the second night, I put hydrocortisone and Epiduo on it, slapped a bandaid on it and went to sleep. When I woke up it was totally flat! The pimple had just disappeared. I'm not sure if it was my Tria Blue Light that did it, but I think it is. I've never had a pimple go totally flat before without having been popped first. It's awesome. :)

This morning i was watching True Life. It was an episode on BDD. I could somewhat relate to the girls on that show feeling ugly and hopeless sometimes. Those girls were mad pretty tho and it got me thinking that people judge themselves way too harshly. Couldn't finish watching it tho, had to leave for school. Give that show a watch if you have the time, i think it's interesting.

Skin still looks shit. Whatever

BTW it's Bandz a make her dance haha

Feeling pretty bad, tried to use some honey/lemon facial mask to reduce my pores, but got some new break outs (probably) due to that.
I'm trying hard to not put my life on hold while having bad face, but yesterday I felt so intimidated to go on a meeting to become a member of a student organisation that I canceled it. Just feels like they won't think I can be good representative with such face. :(

I'm feeling pretty good. Last night I decided to go ahead and begin experimenting with benzoyl peroxide again. I want to start slow and use minimal amounts and see what happens before I go slathering it on every inch of my skin following the regimen. Doing the regimen does help, but I'm hoping that maybe using it only on the affected areas and in lesser amounts will be enough to help me in my case. When I woke up, everything was less swollen and inflamed and infected looking, so that's good. Maybe it will do something good in conjunction with the chemical peels.

I've only got like 5 bumps on my face. No more painful cysts! The only thing gettin in my way is my red marks, but those are slowly fading as well. When my face is totally clear I'll try lemon juice for the marks. Hope it works!

Forehead acne again :( Even though it sucks to get acne anywhere, I probably hate getting it on the forehead and cheeks the most... actually, it's hard to pick the most annoying place. But at least it's not painful or cystic on my forehead.

I hate forehead acne too! That's where I seem to be breaking out mostly. I've got a new one on the side of my forehead, I thought it would turn out to be small, but it's become a big pustule. I don't have tons of active stuff on my cheeks right now, but I do have plenty of reddish scarring. I don't get much body acne, but I do get some blemishes on my shoulders. I've been using 10% BP on those...and surprisingly it is doing a great job of clearing up my shoulders quickly. I'm afraid to use it on my face though because I have really fair skin on my face and 10% BP might be a bit much for it.

Coffee definitely causes breakouts. I'm 100% sure of it now. I was doing better and decided to have a cup. I was 3/4 of the way through drinking it before I felt a sharp pain on my face. I was developing a searing-red cyst, just literally exploding out of my skin before the cup was even done. It swelled up to the size of a quarter and I had to sit there with an ice pack on my face all day because it was throbbing. :(

Does anyone know why this happens? Is it an allergy to caffeine itself? It doesn't seem to happen (not as immediate and violent anyway) with tea or espresso. Just coffee. I've tested it multiple times now. The last time I had a cup of coffee it was the same thing, a big, swollen, painful cyst before or immediately after drinking it.

I think it's the caffeine, cause I also get inflamed cyst from coffee. Also I used to take this pre workout shake that started to fill my entire face with cyst when I looked up the ingredients it was 70% caffeine. At least I now know to avoid it, I don't know if it's an allergy or what effect it has maby on insulin levels or what kind of effect it has on the general body itself.

I agree with coffee causing acne. I'd say it's because of the caffeine but I can't be sure. I'd be interested to see if there's any studies relating to that. I avoid caffeine now because I know coffee breaks me out (not as quickly as you said it does for you but definitely later that day or the morning after). I don't think tea broke me out but I decided to cut it out just in case so I drink rooibos tea now (naturally caffeine free) and I read a few things that say it can help with acne. I think you'd have to drink quite a lot of it though.

(Edit - I did a quick search but can't seem to find any studies looking at whether caffeine causes acne. I might have missed them though.)

I have been experimenting with vitamin based serums like Skinceuticals B5 serum and the result has been quite good. Next I will add Vitamin B3/niacinamide serum and a retinol on top and see how it works.
