I am feeling better - still a bit anxious, but better. My breakout from God knows what cleared up about a week ago, thankfully! I got a 30% glycolic peel this morning at the recommendation of my esthetician for oiliness/some hyperpigmentation. It's a light peel so it's not supposed to do much. I got some slight swelling underneath my eye but thankfully it seems to have calmed down. Now it's just red....hoping that the redness calms down soon. I'm gonna ice it for a little bit. I really think I need help with my anxiety though, my anxiety about my skin has made these kinds of minor things almost unbearable. I'm so tired of reacting like this.

Just gotta keep telling myself to let time work and let my skin heal!

I'm gonna apply the aztec healing clay 5 times a week because I keep breaking out. I might do the Turmeric mask sometimes.

Go talk to a therapist about your anxiety and your skin. It's a godsend for me.

Horrible...!!!!I feel like i cant stand this any more..!!!why is this happening to me...!!i have come for vacation at my home town and i dont want to see them..!!!!i dont want them to stare or to look at me..!!!i am so ashamed.!!!wish i could change my skin......wish i could live another life.....wish i didnt give this so much thought.....wish i could live a normal life...with ice creams and fried chips and cakes and just be happy......wish it didnt affect me like this....its not the worst thing in the world...but i have no strength to keep reminding me that any more...i feel alone in this..

I feel every single one of these things all the time the last few weeks....Worst thing that has ever happened to me. When I wake up it just hits me and im depressed the rest of the day. How can we let it affect us like this.

I hate my acne......been dealing with cysts this week and now i have a huge, inflammed, red lump on my jaw in addition to red pimples and whiteheads, undercover bumps and rough texture. Can't see an end in sight.

Yeah do the indian healing clay for two weeks straight, so it can purge your face all the way. Sorry your going threw this, i know it sucks. :/

I definitely need to talk to one soon. Probably when I get back to school. I talked to my old therapist on the phone a week or so ago and that alone helped a lot. Therapy really can do wonders.

Screw this.. I Am not going to think about my skin at all and I am going to stop coming here often.. I might come sometimes. I got like 2-3 zits that hurts.. My skin looks bad.

I really don't care if I break out.. my skin is screwed anyways, so I don't mind new scars , etc. I'm just gonna keep myself busy by exercising, reading, watching movies, studying.. I won't be playing games because I wanna study ^^;; I don't care what happen, but I won't apply BP. BP would work for me, but I am into all natural. I know some day I will be clear.. probably takes a while by going natural.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if coming here so often is good for me or not. It's so awesome to get support from people who know what we're all going through, but coming here also makes me more obsessive about my skin, since I'm talking about it so much here. In the past I'd get pimples and stuff but I didn't really let it affect my life and I didn't talk about it all the time. I'm working on getting back to that, where I can just LIVE and not care about some blemishes. It's a process but with due time you can do it. I recommend you read some self help books also, if you'd like. I'm reading The Power of Now and it's amazing!

It does suck :) It is not that bad, but since I have a lot of dark marks and new scars, my skin looks so bad. I have like 3-5 active zits. Three of these hurts. They aren't cysts at least, so it should heal fast, but I will be left with red marks.

I keep looking at the mirror for tiny bumps that will form. I am going to stop doing that. I will only look in the mirror when applying aztec healing clay, but I won't search for bumps under skin. My scars might be as bad das my Dad if i keep breaking out on cheeks. He even said it that I will look like him if I don't use BP. Mine won't be bad as I am applying aloe vera, etc that helps with scarring. I really wanted to be clear before school start. I only registered for one course, but I might cancel if my skin doesn't look good.

Seems like some red marks are fading but I am still dealing with acne...

Feeling ok though. Trying not to focus on my skin so much - I've been keeping 'distracted' from my skin by focusing on my uni courses instead - especially the anatomy course I'm doing. It's a lot of work but I love it.

I've been trying to find a sulfur product lately but haven't had any luck. Has anyone here used sulfur based products to treat their acne??? If so, it'd be great if you could let me know :)

Oh, no! Don't cancel because of your skin. You should not let your skin get in the way of something as important as education. I probably sound like a hypocrite because I let my skin get in the way of a lot of things, but I'm working on that. I even thought I wanted to drop out of school last semester cause of my acne. But I didn't, and I'm so glad I didn't. If you're only taking one course, you should really go through with it. I guarantee no one is examining your skin in class like you do in front of the mirror. They're all there to learn, not scrutinize each other's skin. I know it may seem tough but I think you really should continue with classes!

Thanks for that :)

Yeah I made a thread a little while back asking about sulfur and the lady who replied mentioned that product too. I can't find it here in Australia or anything like it so I might just buy it online if I don't find any other sort of treatment to try. Might just leave it for a while and see how things go.

But thanks again :)

Aw, OK thanks. You are right. My skin was at its worse during the last semester and I made it through, but I didn't get a good grade because I was a litle depressed.

Good thing a B is good. I will try not to let this happen next semester.

I've personally never tried the tumeric masks but I know of some that would be vegan because they don't use honey or milk.

There's one that uses just coconut oil and tumeric powder (but I don't know if coconut oil might break you out)

and also one that is tumeric powder, water, oatmeal flour and lentil powder

I found them at this site (you'll just have to scroll through the list to find the one's I mentioned to see if you want to try them). http://www.natural-homeremedies-for-life.com/turmeric-facial-mask.html

I've heard some good things about tumeric and might try it sometime myself... though I've also heard it can stain your skin for a little while so I might wait until a time where I don't have to go anywhere haha

What about jojoba oil instead of coconut oil? I wanna use the turmeric by itself, but it makes me skin orange.

Feeling more relieved about everything! The swelling has gone completely down underneath my eye and the redness has gone down too. It's slightly red there still. And underneath my other eye, this little cut abrasion-like thing has formed. It's so odd because the rest of my skin is fine. I'm a little frustrated because I was thinking of not getting the peel but decided to go through with it anyway, and now it's irritated the areas below both my eyes. But, I know within a week it'll look better, and probably have healed. I just need to be patient. I'm so impatient when it comes to my skin, it's crazy. But I know I'm going to be okay.

My skin is smooth, but still look bad. As long as it is smooth, I am happy.. ;\ I have 3-4 active zits. I always think back when I didn't break out on cheeks at all. My cheeks wasn't that bad because I always broke out around mouth. Since I am getting new scars, it looks bad
