Pros:

- cleanses skin
- leaves skin smooth
- gets rid of dead skin

Cons:

- can irritate the skin
- leave the skin raw if used too much
- can make acne worse

I've been using the clarisonic for about a year, and for the first few months (1-4) it was working pretty well. It actually cleared up my skin (along with Murad Acne Complex) about an additional 15%.It made my skin smooth, got rid of dead skin, and worked great as a facial scrub. Then for the next 3 to 4 months I didn't see any more improvement. Afterwards (and up til now) my acne has been getting worse and I have horrible black marks (I can't necessarily call them scars because sometimes they heal and go away after a few months). I used to use it twice a day along with Murad and after the worsening acne I brought it down to once per day, and now I don't use it at all. At first once I stopped I was afraid of getting cystic acne (like I have when I tried to stop using in the past), but thankfully I haven't. I've also been using Murad for about 2 years but have seen no significant improvement in the past year. The first year I saw about a 40% improvement (but as the same with the clarisonic) the past year has done nothing for me. Now I'm thinking about starting on Cetaphil, Black soap, or go back to Proactive (which I last used 6 yrs ago). Long story short, I would use this product MAX once every other day and only as a scrub or for micro-dermabrasion. DO NOT use this everyday. I've actually spoke with an aesthetician, who said it was too abrasive. Many would say that your skin would have to "purge first", but after 4-6 months of "purging" I personally had to say enough. Please do not use this everyday, it will cause too much irritation and for those with oily skin, it will make the oil increase because your skin is trying to make up for it. - Based on past experiences - I only have black and white heads (but in a horrible amount) & some acne marks. - Oily/ Combination skin - Used Clarisonic for 1 year Summary: - Use it sparingly (no more than once every other day). - Use it as a scrub, but not along with your usual and

Pros:

-Cleanses skin extremely well
-Face feels smoother, softer, cleaner after use
-Exfoliates dull skin off face
-Helped my skin look brighter and healthier
-Cute packaging :) (for the Mia)

Cons:

-Price

I could not be happier with my decision to buy the Clarisonic Mia. My skin had been looking dry/dull, so I decided to invest in this and buy it from Sephora. It is VERY pricey--its only downfall--but to me, it's worth it. Within a few uses I noticed my skin looked visibly brighter, more even toned and healthier. Any dry, dull patches on my face were gone. And my skin just feels so fresh and clean after using! It's like a little facial every time I use it in the shower. I will definitely be using my Mia every day. I also did not suffer from an initial breakout on the Mia (I have read that some people do). But regardless, I would recommend anyone at least try it. This has improved my skin so much!

Pros:

cleans skin
can have different soaps
lasts a while before charging
switch out heads

Cons:

gets dirty easily

I love this cleanser. I have found over time that my acne has slowly gotten better by using this compared to a regular wash cloth or my hands. I have tried everything for my acne and this has been one of the only things that has proved great for me. It does get dirty easily so I reccomend cleaning your face of makeup before you use this but that is honestly my only complaint. I am really happy with this product.

Pros:

feels really nice on skin

Cons:

expensive
doesn't really work

Didn't break me out but it didn't prevent breakouts either. I used it for a year and discontinued using it for about another year and my skin is fine with just using regular cleanser without the clarisonic. Would not necessary recommend it.

Pros:

reduces acne
helps turnover skin

Cons:

having to replace the brush every few months can be costly

i am asian and i read on a japanese site that it is best to really foam up your cleanser, so that it works as a cushion btwn your skin and the brush. otherwise the brush will irritate the skin. i had adult acne for a while and using the deep pore brush changed my life. i was free of acne in a month. maybe not for everyone...but worked for me!

Pros:

CLEAN FACE

Cons:

MAKES ACNE WORSE!!!!!! LIKE REALLY WORSE... EVEN WITH SENSITIVE BRUSH..

I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT THINKING IT WOULD HELP MY FACE & MY ACNE.... TOTALLY DIDNT REALIZE IT WOULD MAKE IT WORSE. NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE WITH ACTIVE ACNE. IT WILL AGGRIVATE IT AND STRIP FACE OF NATURAL OILS CAUSING OVER PRODUCTION OF OIL=BIG TIME ACNE. MY ACNE GOT SO BAD AND CYSTIC I WAS SO EMBARRASSED TO EVEN GO TO WORK AND FACE MY CO-WORKERS LET ALONE GO OUT WITH MY FRIENDS. **GREAT PRODUCT JUST DONT USE ON ACTIVE ACNE!!!!** NOW THAT IM ON SPIRONOLACTONE, I USE IT TO EXFOLIATE ONCE EVERY SO OFTEN & THAT IS IT, MY ACNE HAS SINCE GONE DOWN & DOESNT LOOK SO HORRIFIC.

Pros:

-enjoyed using it
-seemed to exfoliate well
-lasts a long time on one charge
-can use in shower
-skin felt very clean afterward
-good return policy (Sephora)
-powers off after 1 minute
-reduces fine lines

Cons:

-gave horribly painful, cystic acne after about a week of use
-irritates sensitive skin
-does not live up to the hype (for acne prone skin)
-buyer beware

So I read countless reviews and bought into the hype surrounding the Clarisonic Mia. I was so excited to use this product! After about 5 days of nightly use my skin broke out with the most painful cystic acne I've experienced in recent memory. I continued to use the Mia for about another week and a half, alternating every night and staying away from any active pimples. (FYI - I would first remove my makeup with a sensitive cleansing cloth, then gently apply my Obaji gentle cleanser to my face and use the Mia for 1 min, following instructions). I returned it to Sephora after three weeks. My skin is finally calming down after about a month of hell. I have moderate adult-acne (hormonal) along my jaw and around my mouth. According to my derm my skin is very sensitive. I'm 28 and taking doxycyline. I cannot stress enough that this product does NOT work on acne prone, sensitive skin. You will break out badly. And we're not talking tiny pimples like purging from antibiotic treatment and other meds. We're talking huge, under the skin, painful bumps. It is too irritating for sensitive skin. I think the reviews that expound on the excellence of the Mia are from women with already clear and decent skin. I must admit it does reduce fine lines, probably from increased blood circulation. My skin was so puffy and swollen from the acne outbreak, though, that I started taking Advil regularly to reduce the swelling. (something I've never had to do before). There are other ways to exfoliate (chemical peels, glycolic acid creams) which I advise you to use over this. If you do purchase, please be sure to purchase from a retailer with a good return policy (e.g. Sephora) and consult with your dermatologist first. I'm now on a higher dosage of doxycyline (100mg 2X daily) and am turning to chemical peels and laser genesis to reduce acne scarring. I have no active pimples as of yesterday. I purchased the Mia on April 3.

Pros:

Gets skin squeaky clean
Body brush attachment is nice

Cons:

Too harsh to use as recommended.
Made my light acne become moderate acne
Expensive!

I was so hopeful that this would change my oily, large pore skin but it made things worse! I used to get the occasional zit before using this. I use Clinique 3 step skin care and never considered my skin to have big problems except for large blackheads on my nose and pores that could be smaller. Clarisonic made me break out, but I was patient and figured this was the "purge" that other reviewers talked about. After months of using the Clarisonic as advised (once a day) more acne popping up, I finally broke down and went and got a professional facial. The woman said my skin was congested and to exfoliate more so then I started scrubbing even more with Clnique 7 Day scrub, at this point I had cut down on using the Clarisonic to every other day...still more acne! My acne led me to this site, I started the regiment two weeks ago and now I have zero acne, my blackheads on my nose are gone and my pores look smaller. I may go back to use the Clarisonic on a bi-weekly basis but not until I've done the regiment for a bit longer. The bristles definitely did not help my skin or acne and it's VERY expensive for a product that doesn't deliver. Definitely not something for someone with acne prone skin, in my opinion and seems to go against the whole point of the regiment. The body brush attachment, however, is very nice. Got rid of the chicken bumps on my arms and it's a nice treat. So far that is its only redeeming quality!

Pros:

Feels nice
Removes makeup well

Cons:

Didn't help with acne
Expensive

I used the Clarisonic for 3 full months, twice a day and, sadly, it didn't do a darn thing for my acne. I had such high hopes for this brush but none of them were met. I may have seen a very slight reduction in the number of blackheads on my nose, but it definitely did nothing for the whiteheads on the sides of my nose or any of the inflammatory acne on my cheeks, forehead, and jawline. I also don't feel like I saw any general improvements in my skin tone or with any fine lines (I'm 34). I disinfected the brush head with alcohol before every single use. Oh well. This was my last stop before seeing a dermatologist for prescription treatments (I'm now 9 weeks into those and finally starting to see improvements) but I wish I had just gone to the doc first and spent the same chunk of cash on my scripts. Oh well. I did ask my doc for his opinion of the Clarisonic since I've heard that some derms are against them. He said it would be fine to use as long as it didn't irritate my skin but my skin is pretty irritated as it is, just from the topicals. Anyone want to buy a used Clarisonic? :-)

Pros:

-Does clean skin and pores thoroughly
-Removes make-up very well
-Works great with liquid cleansers
-Easy to operate
-Works very well on oily/acne -prone skin

Cons:

-Pricey
-Can easily be over used if the person using it is not educated about how often they should start to use it and increase the frequency of use so that the skin gets used to the device.
-can irritate certain skin conditions like rosacea and cause the skin to become very sensitive and increase inflammation.

-My experience with the Clarisonic Mia was fine. Be sure to use the correct brush head for your skin type. Slowly increase the frequency of use until your skin becomes accustomed to the device. It does help certain skin issues like clogged pores and oily skin. Be sure to use a moisturizer and sunscreen as part of your skincare regimen - Also be sure to allow the brush head to dry and not stay wet. This will help with preventing bacterial growth on the bristles. -Please do not share the same brush heads with other people as to keep down on cross contamination. - Do not apply alot of pressure to the device when using it on the face. Allow the product to lie flush against the skin and let it doe all the work. -Do not use cleansers which contain any sharp pieces of nuts like walnuts. This will damage the Clarisonic.
