Pros:

I started nlite treatments 2 yrs ago. Had 6 treatments initially at The Private Clinic in Manchester. My skin improved dramatically. Completely lightened dark marks from prev scarring & I stopped getting new spots (after initial breakout).

Cons:

Got an initial breakout at first. I also got a few bruise marks as they increased light setting but I am olive skinned, so maybe that's why I burned a little. It healed in a few days so no real probs.

Would definitely recommend to anyone with skin probs or acne, or even wanting to improve skin aging. Massively improved the texture of my skin and got rid of fine lines, so people say I look younger. Huge confidence boost not getting bad spots anymore. Had a break from treatment for 1 yr and spots never came back. Had 3 or 4 more treatments since as top ups to keep collagen improvement. Still no spots :-)

Pros:

Strongly Recommended

Cons:

My message to anybody commencing 'N-Lite' would be to persevere with the treatment; it's not an overnight miracle cure - you gave to be realistic and listen to the advice of the clinic staff. Things may get worse before they get better.

Having suffered from acne since I was 16, ,I eventually discovered the pioneering treatment offered by the Private Clinic. I must be honest, however, when I say that after my first session my acne initially became worse. I was reassured that this was normal, though, and I would need to persevere with the course. Indeed, after my second session, my skin seemed to be showing little improvement. Increasingly frustrated, but not wanting to give up I underwent my third and final session. The results were unbelievable: my skin started to heal itself, the appearance of new spots became a real rarity, and the scars that had plagued me for so long almost disappeared.

Pros:

Tighter Pores, Improved Texture, Improved Tone

Cons:

Severe Hyperpigmentation, Poor Post-operative skin care regimen, Brown Spots Formed in New Places...

For all individual interested in Laser Resurfacing please read this experience from a future doctor: I am medical student in Los Angeles and my once pretty face helped me pay for my medical education. I sought out a board-certified dermatologist affiliated with my school. The experience has been devastating. The physician's medical and physical exam was inadequate. The physician's diagnosis of melasma was false. The doctor's description of outcome was exaggerated.I suffered a severe infection and pruritus so that I ended up in the ER. The doctor was out of town and did not return my page until two days after being paged. The doctor did not explain UV/Sun Precautions, as a result hyperpigmentation beyond repair!

Pros:

19 years old. Worked extremely well, eventually. Reduced amount of oil produced extremely well. Had extremely bad acne, and eventually got all of it.

Cons:

I had many cysts and lots of ance, hurt horrible the first 2-3 times (each hurt less). Took a good 2 month to fully get my skin to really slow the acne down. I've had 6,(cost a **** load) 175$ each.

It worked well. Went roughly, every 2 weeks. Took awhile, and cost a lot, while extremely painful the first few times, however nothing compared to having to wake-up to it everyday and feel horrible. Dont listen to someone reviewing this within 3 months of starting, its takes some time (more for me having horrible skin) to really teach your skin to settle down. In addition, my cysts left scars which caused me to get to chemical peels, however i am sure w/ regular acne, the loss of pimples would not cause scars. If you can afford this, i would definity recomment it.

I can strongly recommended NLite as it cured my acne. It got worse before it got better as expected, but the final results were excellent. I had my treatment at The Private Clinic, Harley Street. The nurse was very professional.

Pros:

50%improvement

Cons:

Due to oil gland shrinking I felt like aging started taking place at a faster rate

I finally got results from manual lymph drainage.I spent thousands of dollars for years trying to clear adult acne. My skin is finally healthy from the inside out.

Pros:

Gives you hope that it will work

Cons:

Expensive, time consuming, kind of painful. gives false hope.

I had one treatment and acc. to THE PRIVATE CLINIC and other reasearch by tony chu online, the first one should've helped. It did nothing for me. The nurse tries to brainwash u by telling you how others have benefited and the theory behind it and by being extra nice. NO IT DOESNT WORK if you have super-spare money try 3-6 and see if it works.

Pros:

cleared up acne, skin is softer and smoother.
much better than antibiotics and dianette.

Cons:

expensive! products they gave me has caused dry skin around mouth area - minor!!!

I went to the private clinic in manchester. The staff were very helpful and sympathetic. I have had 3 n-lite treatments - 2 weeks apart. After the 1st treatment I had an outbreak. I've just had my 3rd treatment today and I am very pleased with the results. My skin is soft, - a bit dry around my mouth due to the products they gave me - thinking of going back in a few months for a chemical peel to get rid of scarring.I am very happy with the results so far! definately worth the price

N-Lite has incredibily improved my skin texture and completely got rid of my acne and my spots. It has given me a huge confidence boost. I had my treatments at The Private Clinic in Harley St. I've found them very friendly and very professional. Highly recommended.

Pros:

It works

Cons:

It takes a few treatments to get results

I can honestly say the N-Lite treatment worked for me. I had 5 treatments at the Private Clinic. After the first treatment I got worse and after the second was not better and it wasn't until after the forth treatment when I saw an improvement. About after 4 weeks of the fifth treatment my skin was clear and 5 months later is still clear. I'm going back for a top up treatment in the new year.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
