  1. Hi. So I haven't posted anything on this forum in quite awhile because I haven't really needed to. HISTORY: I began getting mild acne around 3 years ago, mostly just whiteheads. Over the course of 2 years my acne got irritated and discolored. I wasn't happy. So let's start with around 2 years ago. I first started using Benzoyl Peroxide 0.1% for my acne in the fall of 2011. Though my acne started to subside, nothing drastically changed. In March of 2012 I decided to try the Acne.org Regimen.

    Help Me!

LONG POST ALERT! Hi, I am new to acne.org but I thought I'd join because I feel so alone as it seems that I am the only person I know who has acne. I have had acne for 2 years, it started when I was 16, before that I had flawless skin and hardly ever got spots and I never had a skincare regime whatsoever. Now I am 18 and I am at the end of my tether with acne. I have tried literally everything and nothing works for me. I have tried the body shop tea tree range, seaweed range and aloe range, I
  3. Hey, I am a new acne.org member. I am in a dilemma of choosing an efficient and budget friendly sunscreen for my skin. Provided that I breakout easily and have super oily skin. Which of these is good?
  4. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait

    Organic Acne Treatment?

So lately I've been really interested in organic skincare. I don't know why. My whole motto about skincare is, "If it's working, why change it?" or "If it's not broken, don't fix it".... But is it really working? I was looking through my pile of what I call "skincare" products, which are basically a bunch of chemicals, and honestly, I thought I knew what ingredients to avoid but I don't think I know the half of it. I can't tell you ANYTHING about 98% of the ingredients in my products. None. Now

    Day Two: Skincare

Day Two of my skincare routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night) Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner (morning and night) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (morning and night, depending on daytime schedule) I love this gentle skin cleanser guys. if you've ever tried high-end cleansing milks, this is highly comparable. So as an update from yesterday, my skin is feeling so much less tight and the peeling seems to be almost gone completely (after a whole week). I washe
  7. Hey, I’m 14 years old supposedly struggling with hormonal acne. I’ve got spots and blackheads on my forehead, acne scars on my cheeks, whiteheads and blackheads on my nose and clogged pores pretty much everywhere. I’ve considered using AHA and BHA peels by The Ordinary as I’ve heard chemical peels really benefit your skin. I was wondering if they really work or if they make things worse. Has anyone tried chemical peels or are there alternatives?
  8. To start off, I am going to try and start posting once a month at least, hopefully, more often than that. As for the update on my skin, it hasn't been the best few days. I think that is because I have run out of acidophilus that I pair with spiro, and my skin is not liking that. I forgot to call in the refill before the weekend. As a result of that, I have a few new spots on my cheek that are honestly really bothering me. I can't feel them, but my skin was looking good before this. It might also

    Day One: Skincare

Skincare changes began tonight: 7/9/2016 I quit panoxyl 10% and my persa-gel 10 (although it's a great spot treatment, it's too irritating). I used vaseline on my face and neck to help bring in moisture due to cracked and excessively dry, flaky skin from benzoyl peroxide. I washed that off with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (a holy grail product) I currently will be using 3 products for the next 2 weeks. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night)

    Products&Pills

so I've recently gone to the doctors and was put on a medication called isotretinoin 10mg, it's really helped and it also I've changed my skincare routine so it's less drying and more hydrating, it has seemed to work and my skin is clearer than ever before literally, i'm enjoying this and the fact that I can eat almost anything except milk and still have clear skin cause the pill I've been prescribed is amazing. LIst of products: ST.IVES Even & Bright pink lemon & mandarin orange sc
  12. Hi everyone! I shave every day as I hate not being 'clean-shaven' - I have very dark facial hair, but having any stubble on show looks awful on me (I'm v slim, blonde etc!) so I'm forced to shave daily! My skin gets very irritated - ingrown hairs, breakouts, redness, razor burn, stinging etc, so I'm hoping someone could recommend a good shaving gel/shaving cream that doesn't seem to break them out? I'm currently using the Nivea Sensitive Skin one, which is ok, but not great... I live
  13. HELLO Beautiful people. I recently uploaded a video about my 5 month experience using the 3 step regimen from Acne.org. Dry flakey skin!!!

Hi all! So I've been on roaccutane for 3 months now, I'm on 30mg. I've had mild to moderate acne for 6 years now & tried roaccutane as basically a last chance saloon. Not seen huge results so far, but my skin is noticeably drier; yes this is a good thing & the purpose but putting make up on is a nightmare!! I use liquid concealer & a power foundation obviously to hide the spots & scarring. Under my make up I've been using Cetaphil moisturiser but the dryness remains, and half

    My New Skincare Routine

Hi guys! In this entry, I would just like to share to you my new skincare routine. But first let me share to you a little history of how I discovered it. So my friend was having a problem on her skin when we were still in 4th year college (last year, December 2015.) She wanted to get rid of her pimples and some dark marks located on her cheeks. She also wanted to have an even skin tone. That's when her sister suggested this so-called Dr. Alvin Rejuvenating Set. She apparently used it and du
  16. So after seeking a second opinion from my trusted GP he advised not to go on Accutane next week. I explained to him that all the listed side effects I currently experience so imagine what it would do to me... I get flaking skin (which has calmed down since coming off epiduo), dry lips, joint pain and not to mention a stressful job. I Know I know Im scared and trying to talk myself out of going through. Funnily enough in the past month my skin has really started to clear. I'll post my curren
  17. Hey, I start my first prescription of isotretinoin/accutane tomorrow and I'm wondering what the best skincare products are to use? I bought a Cetaphil moisturiser today, as well as a La Roche-Posay cleanser, lipbalm and moisturiser. Do people recommend getting a Cetaphil cleanser too? Possibly a body wash and body lotion? Everything else I have at the moment is scented and will be too harsh on my skin whilst on the meds. Any advice is really appreciated. Lizzie x

    Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Creme

This Friday, I went to Sephora and picked the Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Creme because I loved it when my skin was clear. I put it on this morning after the gym and immediately my right cheek where the hormonal acne patch is became red and irritated. I'm so heartbroken because I now have to return when I remembered in the past my skin loved it so much. After ten minutes, I washed my face with lukewarm water and applied my Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. The skin is now less red b

    Mario Badescu?

Has anyone tried any of his products? I am interested in his rose water spray but wanted to know if it was comedogenic? Is it good for sensitive skin? Thanks x

    Daily Sufferer Vs. Daily Survivor.

"Why?" That's the biggest question of all. "Why do I have to deal with this? Why me?" As a licensed Skin Care Specialist (Esthetician) whom battles hormonal acne I know the struggle all too well. Given the career I work in, one might assume I have nearly flawless skin but that is far from the truth. All hormonal acne sufferers know, it's beyond frustrating to deal with acne. But, as someone who is supposed to be a skin care and acne guru, it's just plain humiliating and confidence DESTROYING

    Day 8 - Accutane, Question?

Finally finished one pack, have been experiencing some side effects. Dry skin, dry lips and sleepy. It shows I am on the right medication after all. My normal skincare routine has just gone out of the window, its waaaay too drying. The Body Shop tea tree range is good for oily skin but now I have dry, flaky skin. Still struggling to find the right one, in the UK it is rare to find Cetaphil here, which kinda sucks. I have a question, before accutane I tried Retin A and it broke me out so badly
  22. I am quite pale, but my skin has yellow undertones and everything looks pink on me The only thing I've found that matches me almost to perfection is Vichy Normaderm BB cream, but it clings horribly to my dry acne patches and dries out my skin. Also, it is still a bit too pink. I'm looking for a BB cream if possible, but a lightweight foundation is a good option too. Esteé Lauder, True Match and Revlon ColorStay are not an option. Esteé Lauder broke me out, and in my country Revlon and Covergi
  23. Hello, I've had acne since I was 9 years old and I'm soon approaching 20. Currently, my acne is just mild and mainly consists of just small pimples, though I frequently breakout on the left and right-hand sides of my face and my forehead, and occasionally on my chin. I also have extremely sensitive skin which means I have to be cautious about what I use (for example, SLS/SLES makes my hands breakout in an itchy rash, so I don't want to risk using products containing them on my face). At the
  24. 5 Best Foundations for Acne Prone Skin Acne is the most common skin disease and contrary to popular belief – it doesn’t affect just teenagers. Dreadful pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, papules and cysts can affect just about anyone, regardless of their race, gender or age. And while the cause of these outbreaks is still unknown, dermatologists and cosmetologists have started developing lines of cosmetic and beauty products specially designed for acne prone skin. My Acne.org Regimen Results!

From the album: Acne.org Regimen Results

I wasn't going to post these pictures because it's embarrassing to see just how bad my skin used to be!!! However, I figured someone could benefit from my struggle. I've struggled with acne for the last 10 years. I've tried changing my diet, prescription meds, Proactiv, Murad, Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, all-natural face washes, masks, scrubs, etc. YOU NAME IT, I'VE TRIED IT!!!! I even tried to cover it with makeup. But no matter how much concealer you use, there's just no covering a bumpy su
