Broke me out like crazy
This thing clogged my pores like crazy. After a week of using Bio Oil, my face looked like a large pepperoni pizza and I usually don't break out like that. I only get a pimple or two every week or so. It's been over two years since I tried it and I felt like it was my duty to prevent people from buying it -- especially if you have oily/acne prone skin. AVOID at all costs!

Worst breakouts! AVOID!!
I suffer from mainly acne scars more than I do acne so I decided to purchase this product after hearing about what it can do to acne scars and this is probably the worst product I have bought throughout my life. I have purchased other products and I have never had this experience. The products either work or they don't! Simple as. I did not really understand at first why I was breaking out. I wasn't eating as much junk, my diet hadn't really changed either so I was unsure to what the reason was for my acne to suddenly flare up. I have only had this bio oil for about 1/2 weeks and I used this product every night before I went to sleep. My acne has recently flare up from the past week or so. I have never had so many spots on my left cheek until today. I am assuming this is what's caused the breakout and I don't want to risk using this any longer to see whether or not if that's the case. I would avoid this at all costs and try something else. I have changed my routine to using cetaphil cleaner, benzyl peroxide 5% and cetaphil lotion, hoping this work as this is cheap and has good reviews. AVOID at all costs!!

Acne getting worse before getting better?
I have mild adult acne which becomes worse in the fall. I was looking for a good moisturizing product that would not make me break out, and maybe even help my skin clear up. I started using Bio-Oil a month ago. I had high hopes for this product and applied it religiously morning and nights, massaging my skin carefully. My pimples did not get better at all! In fact, I started having many more zits, especially on my chin. I can feel the skin on my face and neck being rough and corse, and many small pimples starting to make their way to the surface! Last night, I began to think that I would not wait the suggested 3 months period to see results. I am very dissapointed as I loved the smell and texture of the oil, and massaging my skin with it felt wonderfull. Maybe I should wait out the three months before giving up? Maybe my skin has been so dried up and toughened by years of various acne products that it is taking longer to respond? I don't know... But unless I stard seeing progress soon, I am going to abandon Bio-Oil forever...

NEVER apply this to your face!
I would give bio oil 0 stars if i could. I applied this to my face and it broke me out on my nose - a place where i NEVER EVER get pimples! I now have an aggravating spot, it doesnt hurt or have a head, but the spot does feel bumpy. I had clear skin with no active spots up until i put this trash on my face, woke up the next morning with a SPOT on the right side of my nose! I seem fussy but i'll be using this up on my body, never on my face again. When i looked at the ingredients i was skeptic as to why this product had so many ingredients and chemicals. If you want to self inflict and introduce acne then buy this product. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU USE IT ON YOUR BODY FOR STRETCH MARKS, BODY SCARS, AS A BODY OIL, ETC, JUST NEVER APPLY IT ON YOUR FACE I WARNED YOU!

Mineral oil
This product has mineral oil in it, which is highly comedogenic (clogs pores --> more acne). Take hormone balancing supplements instead such as DIM, and Vitamin A to reduce oiliness of your skin. Evening Primrose is also good for women (hormone balancing). Drinking a lot of water with these is essential because excess hormones will be flushed out of your organism with these vitamins.

Pros:

Smells Good.

Cons:

It broke me out badly.

I was fortunate to grow up with no acne. However, I have uneven skin tone and was told that biooil would help even out my skin tone. When I started using it everything was fine, I loved the smell and liked the way my skin looked in the morning. After a while i started to break out on my checks and I didn't want to belive it was the oil. However, I normally do not break out...so after a month of use I an forced to belive it's the oil. I am upset now b/c not only am I breaking out by the oil, but now I have ance scar marks that i have to get rid of on my checks. No more biooil for me!!!!

The information provided with the bio-oil suggests that it may only work for recent scarring and if it will work, you need to use it for at least 3 months twice a day, morning and night. Maybe try a more dedicated usage and seek advice on whether anything will work with your scars. Speaking from experience.
