Pros:

the pills are easy to crush for applying to your face, it doesn't smell bad at all and it reduces redness and smooths your skin.

Cons:

can burn/itch a little when it's on

i have really red/dry skin, and i crush about 4 pills and mix with water and let it sit on my skin until it dries. then, i rinse it off and apply vitamin E squeezed from two pills. tonight is the first night i have taken a pill orally as well, so we'll see how that goes, but i already take a multi-vitamin that has zinc anyway. BE CAREFUL not to overdose on zinc! i've only been using it for a few days and my skin is already looking nicer. i'm not sure if it is the zinc or the combination of zinc and vitamin E, but i recommend both if you have very dry skin.

Pros:

Seemed to help with acne, at least it did not break me out more

Cons:

Was still getting cysts / pustules back at the time, but this might have to do with my soap / hydrating cream.

Will give it another go now that I have changed my regimen.

Pros:

CHEAP

Cons:

Didnt take away pimples/cysts. If you leave it on as a mask overnight you will you see chalk dust from the zinc all over your clothes and pillow. You have to be careful when eaten.

It didnt work. I wanted it to work so bad after seeing all the rave reviews. I had severe acne so I used it for 2 months and 3 weeks, and seen no results. I ended up going to a dermatologist because I was so devastated that this didnt work for me and i had millions of pimples/cysts all over my face!!! The dermatologist helped ALOT... I have no pimples or cysts now masha'Allah, (I use a combination of retin A at night and clindoxyl gel in the day).... but the search still continues for something over the counter, cheaper and natural....

Pros:

I used chelated zinc - 50 mg per day for about 1 month. Worked within 2 3 days. Less oiliness. Very few cystic pimples.

Cons:

I developed a severe rash which may be related to change in bowel movement??I think the high dosage of zinc had caused this so now I have stopped taking it all together to see what happens with this rash.

I recommend this only if it has no other side effects like the brutal rash I developed somewhere I never thought I could have!

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Initial breakout and also when i stopped takikng it (coincidence?)
No improvement
Unwanted hair growth

No improvement in skin after over a month of use. Seemed to break me out when i first started using it and after i stopped taking it. No noticeable effects on acne. I did notice I got some unwanted hair growth. It increased libido. Zinc contributes to testosterone and I noticed when I ate a bunch of oysters, these side effects occurred. Not really a deterrent in itself, just the hair growth and no change made me figure it's not worth it.

Pros:

Slows down acne.
Less oil.

Cons:

Nothing noticeable.

I never have high expectations anymore, so I had 4 bucks to throw away and tried 65mg a day (2 25mg Zinc gluconate pills, 1 One A Day's (15mg of zinc in it.) I still have acne over a month later of this diet, and I will say it calmed it the hell down. I still get acne though, and will not stop until it's cured, so I'm going to try Claravis (Accutane). But I'm sure if it helped me a bit, it will help you.

Pros:

helps popped pimples heal faster

Cons:

doesn't seem to help prevent new pimples

I have not had a huge in improvement but I have just bought clearzine pills. Has anyone used these and know the results?

Pros:

may prevent other problems related to low zinc intake

Cons:

didn't help at all maybe made it worse and you have to take a pill every day

its probably not going to work so try something else first but i guess if you are out of options try this it didn't work for me but nothing else does either so maybe i'm just immune to almost any type of remedy

Pros:

It does help the healing process of the skin. It partially prevents the return of pimples and revives the skin. It definitely works but you'll have to show some patience. It can take up to 2 weeks to become really effective.

Cons:

I have never experienced nausea. But if you overdo the dosage, you may experience some diarrhea-like symptoms. Try not to take more than 50mg per day. Crossing the 100mg per day mark can cause zinc poisoning. Not good. Just be patient.

It just works. No prescription needed. Inexpensive, natural, and overall good for the body. You may as well just eat tons and tons of mushrooms as they have a high concentration of zinc. But a zinc tablet is just much easier. Note that I have very very light akne. I am 30 years old and just have a pimple or two per month. I used to have very bad akne until I took antibiotics against it, which totally ruined my hormone balance in my body. I was 98 percent cured of pimples but once in a while one comes out to mock me. For me zinc works perfectly since I have not much to cure. So for those of you who suffer from only very light akne, this is the solution. I am not sure how good constant zink consumption in high doses is for those with heavy akne. You'd have to take a lot and that can't be very good. Zinc poisoning is pretty harsh stuff. Zinc is considered a heavy metal and being poisoned by it should be treated with a hospital visit. And some milk.

Pros:

Cheap
Still early to tell

Cons:

none yet

Im 25. After being on roaccutance less than 2 years ago, i broke out with milia(the under skin white bumps, that look horrible in the sunlight)and acne on my cheeks again(inflamated and red) and my self esteem has taken a huge nose dive. I went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me with one capsule of 200mg zinc gluconate a day for a month to see how it goes, I really hope it works, because i dont really want to go on roaccutane again. I will check in with my results soon, If ANYONE has a simular problem with milia and knows any treatments that work, id really like to hear about it. Thank you and GOOD LUCK everybody. Oh and he also prescibed me la roche posay cream, its wonderful for sensitive skin heres the website [link removed]
