Pros:

Fixes complexion, heals acne including scars from popping, helps immune system, anti-inflammatory so dont get as many big red bumps that kill to touch!!! LOVE IT!!!

Cons:

My zinc tablets have to be chewed, and they are orange flavoured. they still taste REALLY bad and leave sick taste until u eat and drink something, then ur fine!

i had my formal coming up in under a month, and proactiv wasnt working, my skin was red, dry and peeling and my acne was getting worse!!! i heard someone say their friend who had terrible acne tried zinc and now they have NO acne, so i looked at dan's advice and got a zinc glucanate supplement. by the time my formal came around, my skin wasnt red, and although i had acne, they were smaller and had my olive complexion and werent inflammed, so my acne is barely visible in all the pre-formal pics!!! my skin did redden/oil up later from the humidity inside the formal, but nothing TOO bad!!!! then....i stopped taking it coz i had too many lazy days and there was never enough food to eat them with. after a week i had a massive breakout and it continued over xmas. so, on boxing day i began taking zinc again and altough it hasnt worked wonders yet, it is slowly improving. ZINC WORKS WONDERS!!!!! TRY IT IT'S A GREAT ANTI-INFLAMMATORY!!!!!

Pros:

it doesn't have any side affects that i have noticed

Cons:

i haven't notice any difference in taking it

i guess i feel neutral about this product, since it seems to have nothing good or bad. i still take it though, since i still have some left. i guess its worth a try like anything else.

Pros:

Can be a "cure" if you've got the defficiency.

Cons:

Doesnt always work and the supplements can contain ingredients such as iodine.

Worth a try, I think its helped a little with me. Could be very useful.

Pros:

Noticed that my skin was great everytime I drank probiotic drinks w/ zinc or protein shakes w/zinc.

I've tried everything... roaccutane etc. Nothing works. PLus I'm in my mid 20's so thought I'd be past this! BUt it works!

Cons:

none, although I wish I had been told, rather than through trial and error

I had deep bumps and scattered acne all over my neck, jawline and back. now with zinc it has completely cleared up!!!

Pros:

Cleared skin within a month, helps with scarring and healing current acne.

Cons:

Must eat on a full stomach or you will get sick

I've been taking zinc for about 4 months and it works GREAT - it helps with the texture of my skin, helps to heal everything, and my hair even looks better and is a lot healthier - does not fall out much at all. My mind even seems to be clearer. I take 50mg of zinc gluconate daily.

Pros:

Helps Acne and Scarring!!

Cons:

Pills are very hard to swallow. Took three weeks to see results. I had an initial breakout.

I used 50 mg chelated zinc with nature's bounty fish oil. I had a bad initial breakout and it took 3 weeks for me to see results but the acne seems to finally be improving. Keep at it!!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Dried out my skin and didnt help my acne

I used 50 mg of zinc gluconate for 3 weeks and saw no improvements at all...if anything i started breaking out around my cheeks which doesnt usually happen although i cant say this is due to the zinc. Not everyone`s acne is due to a zinc defficiency so this might not work for everyone.

Pros:

As effective as antibiotics without the side effects, very affordable.

Cons:

May cause nausea.

Zinc Picolinate has been the most effective acne treatment for me. Thank God I learned about it! I usually get these large, inflammed acne every now and then. I 1st learned about Zinc from my best friend's brother, who swears by its effectiveness. He takes Solgar Zinc Gluconate from Healthy Options. Since I am a Gold member of GNC, I first bought GNC Zinc Gluconate 50mg and took it once a day for 3 months. Sadly, I didn't see any improvement on my skin while taking it. After a few months, I decided to try Zinc again. This time, I bought Zinc Picolinate 30mg with 2mg Copper, also from GNC. I took it once a day and saw slight improvement on my skin for the 1st month. On my 2nd month I decided to take it 2x a day (once in the morning and once again in the evening) & my skin has been clear with ZERO acne for a month! After I finished all the tablets I wasn't able to buy another jar immediately and I instantly had 3 huge pimples in just a week. Now I'm sure Zinc Picolinate is
