Pros:

It does help the healing process of the skin. It partially prevents the return of pimples and revives the skin. It definitely works but you'll have to show some patience. It can take up to 2 weeks to become really effective.

Cons:

I have never experienced nausea. But if you overdo the dosage, you may experience some diarrhea-like symptoms. Try not to take more than 50mg per day. Crossing the 100mg per day mark can cause zinc poisoning. Not good. Just be patient.

It just works. No prescription needed. Inexpensive, natural, and overall good for the body. You may as well just eat tons and tons of mushrooms as they have a high concentration of zinc. But a zinc tablet is just much easier. Note that I have very very light akne. I am 30 years old and just have a pimple or two per month. I used to have very bad akne until I took antibiotics against it, which totally ruined my hormone balance in my body. I was 98 percent cured of pimples but once in a while one comes out to mock me. For me zinc works perfectly since I have not much to cure. So for those of you who suffer from only very light akne, this is the solution. I am not sure how good constant zink consumption in high doses is for those with heavy akne. You'd have to take a lot and that can't be very good. Zinc poisoning is pretty harsh stuff. Zinc is considered a heavy metal and being poisoned by it should be treated with a hospital visit. And some milk.

Pros:

AMAZING! In 10 DAYS MY SKIN WAS COMPLETELY CLEAN AND SMOOTH. I WAS MORE ACNE FREE THEN I HAVE EVER BEEN...EVER!

Cons:

If you take it on an empty stomach....you can throw up and feel VERY sick.

I started using it 2 weeks ago. After using it once a day every day for 10 days, my skin was SO SMOOTH and absolutly NO acne. NO JOKE. Also, my skin had a glow, it looked tan, And my cheeks looked very blushy in a cute way. TRY THIS! For the first couple days it doesent seem to work, but just keep using it consistently and in 10 days you will see a difference!

Pros:

clears acne, reduces redness, and gives a healthy glow FAST. also great for overall health

Cons:

stomach ache if not taken with LOADS of food

i took 50mg of zinc for the first time last night after dinner and when i woke up this morning my face looks better than it has in months. i also noticed that my chronically dry legs that i have been dealing with since preschool look alot less cracked/ashy. i cannot belive the affect that zinc has had on my skin in only 12 hours. you have NOTHING to lose by taking a zinc supplement

Pros:

-May have prevented more acne. I've been getting literally none in the past week(s) or so.
-Inexpensive

Cons:

-Didn't reduce oily skin.

I wanted to take zinc b/c i found it helps control hormones, reduce oily skin, etc. It didn't do much for my oily skin. i am currently taking 60 mg, you really shouldnt exceed 100mg.

Pros:

Works really well at diminishing pimple size and helps reduce redness. Much less acne after a week or two.

Cons:

If you don't take it with food it can make you sick, possibly poop out blood.

I have been taking Zinc for about two weeks now and it already works great. I would take this for the rest of my life if I have to.

Pros:

makes zits smaller, fewer, and faster-healing this took about 3-4 weeks to start working. Then I tried upping the dosage and started getting symptoms of iron deficiency. I'm a long-time vegetarian (borderline vegan), so I think i need zinc.

Cons:

can cause anemia if iron absorption is a problem, can cause nausea if taken on an empty stomach.

25-50 mg / day may be helpful to those who have a zinc deficiency. These might include vegetarians and especially vegans. Be sure to take an iron supplement and/or eat iron-rich foods while taking this as, over time, it can cause an iron deficiency. If you take both zinc and iron, take them at different times during the day b./c they can affect each other's absorption.

Pros:

Have taken this for 2 weeks now and have not noticed an improvement. It hasn't made me nauseous in the least, tho. Maybe I should take more than 100mg then...

Cons:

None

Hasn't worked yet.
