Pros:

Reduces oil production

Cons:

Takes time
hasnt fully cured acne but have hope that it would.

Ive been taking GNC zinc 50mg for 2 weeks now and i must say it has reduced oil production dramatically but it hasnt really done much on pimples.I noticed that in the first few days, i had more small zits and whiteheads which are now slowly diminishing as time goes on.However, im still keeping my hopes that it would at least clear my skin.

Pros:

none

Cons:

made my skin more oily

I have used chelated Zinc for 4 weeks, 2 30mg pills a day. I started to break out on my forehead (where I usually don't get acne) on the 2nd week. I've noticed that my whole face is becoming more and more oily and greasy and nasty on the 3rd week.

Pros:

helps clear acne by aiding the immune system

Cons:

none

i am 18 years old and other than the past year i had never even gotten a pimple. over the past year or so i have struggled with pretty bad acne. i take a multi-vitamin (15mg of zinc) plus one 50 mg zinc tablet daily. i started off with 65mg a day for 2 weeks and it seemed to work so i increased it to 100 mg a day but it seemed to worsen my acne so for the past week ive gone back to 65mg and all has been well. its definitely worth trying zinc.

Pros:

I don't know... it's good for you? I guess it reduces inflammation

Cons:

It doesn't really make a difference for me...

I started taking 50mg religiously for a few weeks.... i took it with vitamin d, and omega 3... It didn't make much of a difference for me, I guess when i stopped i got one cyst, but i think it might be from some other factors cause i was changing up my routine during that time... I'm starting it again just for the hell of it, but i dan is right most of the effect is probably placebo... I guess it works better for other people

- Prevents breatouts

Cons:

I've literally only been using this product for 5 days, but I have not had ONE new pimple since then. It's amazing. I always get at least one, if not a lot more new pimples each day. I LOVE Zinc.

- dramatically reduces breakouts
- dramatically reduces redness/inflammation

Cons:

liquid zinc is the best acne treatment i've ever used. i am 35 and have suffered with mild to moderate acne since my teens. i wish i had started this kind of zinc earlier in life... might have saved me a little bit of scarring and a lot of stress and emotional upset! it began to work and clear my skin right away, but took daily use for almost 1-2 mos before i was entirely clear. if i get any blemishes now, they are very few, really small, clear quickly and mostly are hormonal. i only take supplements & wash w/mild cleanser now yet this is the best treatment i've ever tried. PLEASE TRY ZINC IF YOU HAVE ACNE, ESP. HORMONAL. YOU'LL BE GRATEFUL & HAPPY like me.

Pros:

☼ Greatly reduces redness and inflammation. I noticed a dramatic improvement after about two weeks.
☼ Inexpensive. Generic 50mg supplements are only a few dollars for 200.
☼ Fast and easy. Takes no more than ten seconds per day.
☼ Healthful. Zinc supposedly works by improving your immune system.

Cons:

☼ Can cause an upset stomach. It's not a problem if you take the supplement just after a meal and drink a glass of water.

This has been the most effective treatment for me by far, and it also happens to be the fastest and least expensive. I've heard it said that Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B5/Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, and Zinc help control acne. I take a Vitamin B 100 complex with Vitamin C in the morning and 100mg of zinc gluconate after dinner. I try to eat some vegetables with dinner for Vitamin A; carrots are particularly good. I stopped using topical treatments after the vitamins started to work. I just gently cleanse my face in the morning and evening. I also keep my towels and sheets clean. I decided to try this after reading about pyroluria, so I feel obliged to mention that as well.

Pros:

Smoother skin, dries out pimples, smaller pores, less oily skin.

Cons:

None so far.

I've been taking 50mg of zinc chelated for almost a year now; i bought it from the GNC store in the Philippines, it cost me about Php 400 thats more/less $8.00; i have never had any side effects or negative reactions using the product. Give it days or a week and you'll see that your skin will be a lot softer and smoother. This is the only mineral together with vitamin c that helps to get rid of my pimples. Please try it and I assure you that you will not regret using it.

Cons:

i take 100-150mg (ya ya it's over the limit :P ) but it works! my skin was really clear then i start getting a few zits on my forehead and stuff, took the zinc with some fish oil pills and boom within a week all my zits were almost gone and the ones that remain are really small and not even noticable really...
